before i get to a great Rangers victory yesterday and the Yankees losing a doubleheader, a little update on life...
i really feel bad for my mother today. she did what a certain someone wanted to be done and then gets bitched out today for having done it. i guess a certain someone doesn't remember the lectures on choices and consequences. oh well.
the New York Rangers played really good yesterday in spurts. but mostly, Igor Shesterkin stood on his fucking head, saving 43 of 44 shots. the Rangers defeated Carolina, 3-1. Carolina got a little chippy at the end and i love that the Rangers coach said in the postgame, if they want to play dirty, we have plenty of guys that can match that as well. so, Game 4 tomorrow night should be a feisty one.
here are your highlights from the rest of the NHL playoffs yesterday:
here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs yesterday:
the New York Yankees lost Game 1 yesterday to the White Sox, 3-1. they lost Game 2 of the doubleheader, 5-0. oh well. they start a series tonight at home against Baltimore.
Manchester United lost yesterday at Crystal Palace, 1-0. but, Brighton saved their asses by beating West Ham, so United will play in the Europa League next season. today, they introduced the new manager. i like the fact he seems to be direct, has a vision, knows what kind of players he wants, etc. i just hope the fucking board and owners allow him to get what he wants.
Gaslit was very good last night.
Barry was excellent last night.
The Baby was really good last night.
Last Week Tonight was BRILLIANT as usual.
Ziwe was fucking hilarious last night.

and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Monday Night Raw and Don't Forget the Lyrics!
i did listen to episode 396 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can listen to that by going here:
mom has physical therapy this afternoon. i helped her send some pics to the doctor's office yesterday of her bruises. she has an appointment tomorrow there. i doubt she wants the 8:30 AM one they gave her though. today she wasn't awake until around noon.
i do hope to get some poems written today.
i suppose i need to go check the plants. the weather has cooled down a great deal since those storms on the weekend.
i hope everyone had a great weekend.
i don't have a damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow.
until then kids...

when i walked out to get the mail today, it actually felt like late May. it's almost summer. joy. sunburns and ill fitting clothes. good times.
WWE Extreme Rules was great last night. 2 of the matches, Roman Reigns vs. AJ Styles and the Intercontinental Title match will surely be on the final list for matches of the year. they were both spectacular. plus, last night saw the return of Seth Rollins. when he destroyed Roman Reigns at the end of the show, i was so fucking happy. should make for an interesting Monday Night Raw tonight.
the New York Yankees won yesterday, 5-4, to complete the 4 game sweep of the Oakland A's. that's 5 wins in a row. that also gets them just 1 game under .500. they are off tonight and start a series with Toronto tomorrow night.
team USA defeated Puerto Rico 3-1 in a soccer friendly yesterday. the field was horrible and the USA played down to their competition. they will have to be much better to do anything in the upcoming Copa America.
House of Lies was pretty damn funny last night. made me miss my days of smoking pot. Veep was great. Silicon Valley was very funny. Penny Dreadful was absolutely wonderful last night. the acting in that episode should win awards for everyone. and finally, Last Week Tonight was great as usual.

on the DVR tonight will be part 1 of the season finale of The Voice and the season finale of Gotham. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw and then Mick Foley's interview with Shane McMahon on WWE Network.
i did listen to the latest Sam & Cathy podcast this afternoon. excellent as always.
so i woke up this morning to the news that Louis van Gaal had been sacked by Manchester United. late this afternoon, the club finally confirmed it. talk about a poorly held secret. i'm not a big fan of the way the Dutch play the sport, so my falling out of love with LVG's tactics was not surprising. i'm not sure what to think yet if Jose Mourinho is truly the best choice to be the next manager. i can't argue with the results, but i don't want to watch a team park the bus every game. of course, win the league, win the Champions League, FA Cup, etc. and i'll simply live with it while rejoicing. thankfully, LVG did win the FA Cup before departing, and seeing that it had been 12 years since Manchester United had won it, he'll always be remembered for bringing it back home. all in all, this should be a very interesting summer. especially when i saw today the rumor that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is going to be the first player Jose signs for the club. holy shit.
my uncle came over for a little bit yesterday. it's good to see him out and about, although he still has a hard time walking. it was the first time he had been over to the house in months. he's in remission and doing better. his goal was to make it to the summer. it'll be interesting to see how far he goes after that.
i hope everyone had a great weekend.
