one of those nights that i hope causes some change

i was really proud of the NBA guys last night calling off their games in light of the Jacob Blake shooting. so did most of the teams in the MLS, some of the teams in MLB and of course, the NHL, who is always late to the party regarding anything to do with race, didn't do anything. the funny thing to me was all the people bitching about not having any basketball to watch last night. news flash, if you were upset about not having the games being played, you're part of the fucking problem with this country. how fucking hard is it to think of black people as fellow human beings? never forget boys and girls, racism is taught. turning a blind eye to it is you condoning it. these are the hard conversations we should have had after the fucking civil war. instead, we let the losers of that war tell the story of it. maybe one of these days, someone will actually teach the truth about it, about the police in this country and their sole duty to being created to hunt down the slaves. just imagine how many wearing a badge today still think that is their mission...

the Yankees lost both games of their doubleheader last night in Atlanta. Gerrit Cole's winning streak came to an end in the first game (5-1 loss) and the bullpen wasted a gem from Tanaka in the second game (2-1 loss). of course, Aaron Judge got injured again in the second game. i'm not sure which voodoo doctor the team needs to see to lift this fucking injury curse. they are off again tonight before they start a weekend series with the Mets. 2 doubleheaders in 3 days, joy.

NXT was excellent last night.

Big Brother was good last night. i expect Janelle to be voted out tonight.

Cari & Jemele Stick to Sports was pretty good last night.

here are some highlights from the NHL games yesterday:

i stayed up last night watching hurricane Laura coverage. i'm hoping my friends in Louisiana and Texas are doing fine in the aftermath.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, AEW, Big Brother, Desus & Mero and Cake. i'll watch NXT UK sometime tonight on WWE Network.

mom has an appointment this afternoon with her eye doctor. her eyes have gotten worse once again. she's more or less fucking blind at this point. joy.

after that, she wants to go out to eat at Perkins. it's right down the road from her eye doctor.

hard to believe it's been 30 years since Stevie Ray Vaughan died. i remember the exact spot i was in when i heard the news...

so i found out this morning that Paul Pogba tested positive for COVID-19. joy.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

until then...

the summer rain

i'm not sure if i can remember a summer with this much damn rain. and of course, i think the people that mow our grass are out of town, so it didn't get cut before this latest inch or more of rain fell. joy.

the New York Yankees got some more great starting pitching yesterday and plenty of offense to beat the Reds 9-5. they start another series tonight against Tampa. if they are "for real" about making the playoffs and being a threat, they need to win this series against the Rays.

Manchester United lost to Barcelona last night 1-0. honestly, the score was better than it should have been. David De Gea was the sole reason United only gave up 1 goal in the first half. United desperately needs help in the midfield and defense to play against a team like Barcelona.

i liked how the USA came out last night against Jamaica. they appeared they were taking the game seriously. of course, when Jamaica's best player (their goalkeeper) got injured and had to leave the game, it was like the USA thought the game was going to be easy now. once again, they were sloppy in the final third and it wasn't until a beautiful free kick from Jozy Altidore that they had a lead, 1-0. 4 minutes into the second half, Jamaica evened the score. go ahead and ratchet up the tension. Clint Dempsey put one off the post that had me pulling my fucking hair out. and then in the 88th minute, Jordan Morris, the guy who allowed his guy to score for Jamaica, makes up for his mistake with a wonderful goal. a cup winning goal. amazingly, they still haven't been defeated since Bruce Arena took over the job. i certainly enjoyed that victory drink last night.

Big Brother went as expected last night. sadly, i think Kevin ruined the surprise tonight. Ramses will get evicted and all the fireworks i was hoping for probably won't happen.

Lucha Underground was really good last night.

NXT was very good last night.

Snowfall was excellent once again last night.

i did listen to the latest Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast today. i highly recommend his interview with Jim Ross. you can find that by going here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/sam-roberts-wrestling-podcast/id934576040?mt=2

i'm hoping the damn rain has stopped. i know i need to get ready to take mom to physical therapy. i haven't had too many problems with the pinched nerves today. my greatest fear is that i'm developing carpal tunnel syndrome. i remember my father having it so bad in both wrists he had to have surgery on both of them. of course, that asshole had both done at the same time. that way we (mom, sister, myself) had to take care of him 24/7.

i can't imagine given my history being anything other than a poet.

i figure i will be on here tomorrow after a trip to the grocery store. it's supposed to be raining tomorrow, so that should be about as fun as a bag of flaming dicks.

that's all for me kids. take it easy and then take it again.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.
