i woke up this morning and it was 62 degrees outside. well shit, i turned off the air conditioning and opened some windows. lord knows, this will probably be the only day in July i will be able to do this.
the Yankees won yesterday at Toronto, 8-1. they are off tonight and start a series tomorrow at home against the Reds.
i did watch the Euro 2024 games yesterday. England won 2-1 in extra time over Slovakia. Spain won 4-1 over Georgia. today France is playing Belgium (currently 0-0) and Portugal plays Slovenia.
the Copa America games last night were good. Venezuela defeated Jamaica 3-0. Mexico and Ecuador played a 0-0 draw. that means Venezuela won the group and will take on Canada. Ecuador finished second and they will take on Argentina next. tonight, the USMNT takes on Uruguay and Panama plays Bolivia.
the season finale of The Chi was excellent last night.
Power Book II: Ghost was good last night. the mid-season finale is next week.

on the DVR tonight will be Name That Tune and Monday Night Raw.
i need to go to the bank after i get this done.
a big thank you to everyone for checking out my latest published poems:
there is one reason why i will probably never move away from Ohio. there is just enough crazy people here to keep it fucking interesting. when i saw the news today of the meetings in Ohio from people from militias in Michigan to hatch a plan to kidnap the governor of Michigan, i chuckled.
the Yankees lost last night, 8-4. basically, Stanton is the only one really hitting at the moment. i'm not going to be shocked if tonight is the end of their season.
The Masked Singer was really good last night. mom's guess of The Giraffe was correct.
Big Brother was good last night. i fully expect Tyler to be evicted tonight.
NXT was excellent last night.
AEW was really fucking good last night.

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Big Brother and Desus & Mero. i already watched NXT UK this afternoon on WWE Network. it was really good.
other than watching some baseball tonight and a NFL game i couldn't give two shits about, i might do some poetry work.
that's all for me kids.
i hope this finds everyone well.

i woke up with a headache this morning. i figured it had rained overnight. i was correct. that headache hasn't gone away yet. neither has the threat of more rain. as i was walking into the grocery store this afternoon, the thunder and lightning started. i had a choice to make. take my time and see if i could outlast the rain or just get it the fuck over with since you were going to be in pain regardless. less than an hour later, i was putting the groceries in the Highlander in a fucking pouring rain. joy.
i did keep the grocery bill under $100 though, so that was a plus.
i had a line creep in my head while i was on my way to the store. that line turned into a poem as i was walking around. it became 3 pages long when i started writing it when i got back home. god knows how long it will be when i type it up. let's just say the muse hasn't lost her touch.
the muse and i did speak last night for the first time in years. i have no clue if anything good is going to come out of this. she has a way to make me feel like i'll never be good enough. that stokes the fire of the competitive fucker inside of me. i have always felt she knows that and does it on purpose. it would be just my luck if that wasn't the case.
Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.
Lip Sync Battle was pretty good last night.
Big Brother was great last night. Brett gave one of the great Big Brother speeches of all-time last night, creating an outrageous lie that included Rockstar. when the vote came out the way Brett predicted and Winston was voted out 6-5, Rockstar fucking erupted. the way Brett played it was so fucking perfect. if anyone doesn't like what happened last night, you obviously have no clue how this game was actually played before the last 5 seasons. this reminds me of when i started watching the show back in season 8. Sam won HOH. i have no clue who she is going to put up for eviction. it won't matter as her power that allows someone to come back in the game will be used even if she doesn't want it to be. so this will be a ho hum week in the grand scheme of things.
Snowfall was spectacular last night. i can't wait to see where season 2 goes.

the New York Yankees start the second half of the season tonight at home against the Mets. i'd love to see the Yankees start off with a nice long winning streak. plus, i could really use a drink.
i did follow the Manchester United pre-season game against Club America online last night. the game ended 1-1. when i woke up this morning to see the Paul Pogba rumors, i wasn't happy. the last thing i want is to see him leave the club again.
i will probably be on here in the morning tomorrow. of course, life could always get in the way.
i hope everyone has a great weekend.

i got nearly 6 hours of sleep last night. that couldn't have been due to that nice glass of Beam and Coke i had last night after the Yankees won, right? of course, my mother isn't thrilled since i don't know the results from my blood test from yesterday. it was to check my liver. i'm willing to bet i'm not going to die anytime soon.
here is your poetry for this day of National Poetry Month:
the New York Yankees continued their mastery of the Twins last night. they won 7-4. their offense at home is really something to behold these days. sadly, the homestand comes to an end this afternoon. hopefully the Yankees can get the sweep of the Twins. i'll miss most of the game, but i'm sure i'll check out the highlights when i get back from the grocery store.
NXT was excellent last night.
i did watch a good portion of the NHL and NBA playoffs last night.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, Life in Pieces and Atlanta.
i'm sure i will watch parts of the NFL Draft tonight as well. the New Orleans Saints won't be picking until late in the first round. that's really the only pick i give a shit about.
i will probably bring my little notebook with me while mom is at her appointment with the new dentist today. i have no clue how long she'll be in there, so i might as well try to squeeze out some poems while she is. i know we're going to go grocery shopping after that.
i will probably be on here tomorrow before the WWE puts on the Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia. that starts at noon i do believe. it's scheduled to go on for 6 hours. joy.
that's all for me kids. until tomorrow...

this has been one of these days that i've been dragging nearly all day long. it's been rainy and gloomy all damn day today. and sadly, the more i try to sleep these days, the more restless i actually am. i only had a little over 4 hours last night and woke up this morning refreshed. more or less, i think i have turned into a cat. i nap on and off all day long and then can't fucking sleep at night for anything.
i did write 8 poems last night. i typed those up this morning. i really liked a few of them. i'm hoping to have another writing session like that before Christmas comes along. that will give me plenty to choose from when 2018 comes along. i've already had a few editors ask me to send work for 2018 now.
the New Orleans Saints did not play well yesterday. thankfully, even with 3 fucking turnovers, they found a way to beat the New York Jets 31-19. that keeps them in first place in the division. if they win their next two games (home against Atlanta and at Tampa Bay) they will win the division.
after the game was over, mom had me drive her over to Rite Aid in town to see if they had a few things she needed. $110 later, we were leaving. i did find a few things for myself that weren't pills or other things we needed for the house. one of those things you will hopefully see in any new YouTube videos i do in 2018.
Shameless was really good last night.
SMILF was fucking great last night. i believe the season finale is in 2 weeks.
WWE Clash of Champions was pretty good last night. i enjoyed most of the matches. and i will be really interested to see what happens on Smackdown on Tuesday.

congrats to my sister for buying the house she wanted. here's hoping your condo sells for more than you dream of and the move in goes great. she's moving across the street from friends she has known since college, so i know their kids will be thrilled.
mom's doctor's appointment went pretty good today. the surgeon basically told her no to the injections in her back. that made me happy, as from what mom is saying (at least today), the injections won't do her much good. she starts her physical therapy outside of the home next week. tomorrow, physical and occupational therapy will be out here to basically clear her to do the therapy outside of the home. i did have a talk with mom today about making sure she's clear with what she is telling the doctors. i put it sort of plain and simple. be as simple and as accurate as you can be or i will do it for you. and since she was tired as hell today (what, you can't do 2 different doctor's appointments in a day less than a month after having your hip replaced at 64), she was basically telling the doctor's the opposite of what she was telling her back doctor yesterday. looks like i will get to wear my asshole hat soon.
quick update on the cleaning ladies fiasco... my cousin was over yesterday to do the yard and re-pot a plant for mom. mom asked her to look under my bed for that Batman night light. sure enough, in the middle of the floor underneath the bed, there it was. i'm not sure why neither of the ladies wouldn't just tell me it got knocked off the desk and rolled under the bed. mom fired them since she thought, as did i, that it was stolen. i have no clue if she's going to have them back now or not.
the New York Yankees lost again last night, 8-3. that's 7 fucking losses in a row. that's their longest losing streak in a decade. joy. hopefully it will be broken tonight.
Smackdown was really good last night. it was great that Daniel Bryan was back. you could tell the whole show had a different vibe.
205 Live was excellent last night as well.
Deadliest Catch was good last night.
The Jim Jefferies Show was fucking hilarious last night.
enjoy some music:

i caught the second half of Portugal's win over Russia today and the last 20 minutes or so of Mexico's win over New Zealand in the Confederations Cup.
i'm going to be interested to see who the Las Vegas NHL team takes tonight in the expansion draft. i figure the New York Rangers will lose Oscar Lindberg. that's exactly who i would be taking if i was their GM. hard to believe the NHL draft is just a couple days away.
even harder to believe the NBA draft is tomorrow. i can't wait to see how the Sacramento Kings fuck it up this year.
that's all for me kids. mom and i had a pretty big lunch, so i think dinner is going to be just enough food to take our pills and that's it. and since i got the dishes done this morning, i'm off to go take a damn shower and ice my back down for the night.

i'm really hoping to catch up on some sleep this weekend. i figure my nerves will get the better of me the closer we get to Tuesday. i'm not exactly looking forward to trying to go to sleep at 8 in the evening so i can be up at 4 in the morning.
the New York Yankees pissed away a lead last night, but came back to tie, only to give the game away again. a 5-4 loss to Tampa. hopefully they will win this afternoon down in that dump.
i did watch some of Cleveland's destruction of Boston last night in the Eastern Conference finals. the final score of 130-86 was a good indication of the game. Cleveland had a lead by more than 50 at some points. i suppose this is what the league gets for not having LeBron in the top 3 of the MVP.
VICE was fascinating last night. the story of women in prison was very good. and i never knew how easy it would be to make a "Warhol".
Real Time with Bill Maher was excellent last night.

when mom handed me the grocery list today, i about shit myself. apparently, i'm in charge of Thanksgiving this year. so, i had to get the turkey, the ham, etc., etc. i thought i would never make it out of the grocery store today. apparently, the brilliant fucks in the meat department forgot to put a price on the ham. i'm the typical male shopper, i see it, i put in the cart and move the fuck on. so, this ended up being an extra 15 minutes at checkout waiting for the guy to come back with ham and a price. i kept the total today under $150, so i'm happy.
my sister got let go today at her job. she's been begging for this to happen for years now. apparently she got up to the salary level where it is either you become upper management or get let go. so, i suppose this opens up the way for her to do what she wants now. she's going to get enough money to pay off her condo, so she will more or less be debt free. not a bad way to be before you turn 40.
i sent off 19 poems today; 3 to Pink Litter, 5 to Poetry Pacific and Duane's PoeTree and 6 poems to Sentinel Literary Quarterly. when i hear back from these places, i will pass along the verdicts.
American Horror Story was amazing last night. it was yet another crazy finale to go with another crazy season.
You're The Worst was great last night. that season finale couldn't have been better. i can't wait to see where the show goes next season.
Lip Sync Battle was very fucking funny last night.
Total Divas was the usual last night. it looks like it should be another "funny" season.
NXT was good last night. the Takeover event this weekend in Toronto should be amazing.
Lucha Underground was great last night. Aztec Warfare III was fucking crazy.

nothing like going out to get the paper in the morning and it's in the 70's at 8 AM in mid-October. i guess the next two days are supposed to be shitty and rainy. a massive cold front is supposed to go through and actually usher in fall weather, for at least a few weeks i guess.
Manchester United started off on fire yesterday. they really pressed Liverpool and caught them off guard. sadly, they only got a few chances to actually get something like a goal, but nothing really came close. so when that didn't work, i figured The Special One was going to do what The Special One does, bunker in. sure enough United gave their best defensive effort of the season in a 0-0 draw. considering the draw kept Liverpool from going to the top of the league, i'll consider it a win.
the New York Rangers got 7 goals last night from 7 different players to beat San Jose 7-4. the defense still needs to get better, but if this offense can stay like this all season, i certainly won't get bored anytime soon.
i didn't watch much of Monday Night Raw last night. seeing that i'm not a big Goldberg fan, i know i didn't miss much. i got to see everything that went down with Jericho, Owens and Rollins, so i'm good.
The Voice was really, really good last night.
Gotham was spectacular last night.
The Big Bang Theory was very funny last night.
Vice News Tonight was excellent once again. i had no clue i should have been watching Melrose Place back in the 90's.
enjoy some music:

since the weather is supposed to be shitty the next few days, i went to the bank today. i always laugh when i have to show my ID when depositing cash. today i had a check for over $400 and a roll of pennies. sure enough, i have to break out my driver's license for the pennies. what a world.
the trash is all picked up and i could use a nap, so that's all for today.

i had it all planned out. i would be done with all my Sunday night viewing sometime around 5 AM. a quick power nap and then it would be time to watch Manchester United. so, i got a quick 2 hours of sleep. i woke up to see that the game between United and Manchester Shitty had been cancelled. ok, time to get more sleep. another quick 3 hour power nap and i was basically up for the rest of the day. i'm sure i'm taking years off of my life by not getting good sleep. oh well.
the New York Yankees won yesterday 5-2. they start a road series tonight in Houston. they made a pretty big trade today, sending their closer to the Cubs for 4 players. i think the 4 players they are getting from Chicago are better than the 4 they gave to the Reds to get Chapman in the first place. all in all, excellent job by Brian Cashman for a change.
Big Brother was pretty good last night. i'm sure CBS is kicking themselves for not having the feeds on when a 6 hour endurance competition happens.
Ballers was excellent last night. Vice Principals was fucking hilarious. The Night Of continues to be fucking brilliant. Power was excellent with a great oh shit ending. Ray Donovan was pretty good. Roadies was very good. Last Week Tonight was brilliantly funny as fuck once again.
WWE Battleground last night was good. of course, i would have booked it a little differently, but the matches i wanted to be great were. i was so happy to see Bayley be Sasha Banks' partner in her tag match. hopefully the powers that be recognized the pop the crowd gave her. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn stole the show once again. it was a 5 star match for sure, even with Sami's fuck up. i'm fine with the title still being on Dean Ambrose. it should make for an interesting Monday Night Raw tonight.
enjoy some music:

nothing on the DVR tonight as i will be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.
i did send out 13 poems today. 3 to Mad Swirl and 5 each to Because Eileen and Your One Phone Call. when i hear back from these places i will pass along the verdicts.
it's always nice to have a day where you actually get some shit done you wanted to. more than 4 hours of sleep. get to the bank and back home before 2 PM. write some poems and get them typed up. explain to your neighbors that Trump is actually running for King and not President. good times.
i always love going to the bank. i always love the looks on the faces of all the black people in there when they see a hairy fat white fuck come in, usually with a couple checks and a few rolls of coins. the funny part to me is none of them probably know i grew up in this black town and have always felt fine around anyone.
i wrote 2 poems this afternoon. i typed them up and i really, really, like them. i figure they will be part of my next round of submissions, probably in the next week or so.
as for the Trump thing, i read the story today that he wants his VP to do all the work; the long hours, the meetings, the hard work of getting assholes to do what you want, etc. so, he really doesn't want to be President, he just wants to be called that. i believe that is what you call a King. so, if this country truly wants to undo the Declaration of Independence, so be it. but, i will be moving. probably not to Canada either. i'm thinking somewhere in Costa Rica where i can at least get decent wi-fi so i can still blog and post pictures.
the New York Yankees whipped Baltimore last night, 7-1. they have won 6 out of their last 9 games and have picked up exactly 0 games in the wild card race. hence why i believe they should start trading off everyone they can. they aren't making the playoffs this season. they play the Orioles again tonight.
Deadliest Catch was pretty good last night.
Smackdown was pretty interesting although, i didn't like most of the draft. to have Kevin Owens drafted as late as he was was truly a fucking insult. now, i do like that him and Sami Zayn will continue to FIGHT FOREVER. also, a night without John Cena is music to my ears. Finn Balor finally got called up from NXT. i think Raw easily "won" the draft as it looks like Smackdown is top heavy (Cena, Styles, Ambrose, Wyatt) and will become the feeder show for Raw once again. hopefully i'm wrong on that. it should make for an interesting ppv this Sunday.
enjoy some music:
and now this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, Lucha Underground and Tyrant. i'll be watching NXT and the Crusierweight Classic on WWE Network. of course, all of that is on at the same time.
the humidity today is ridiculous. and sadly, it's only going to get worse. i'll be in the air conditioning trying to stay cool for the next 4 days or so.
i did get some music on iTunes today. sometimes you hear something on the radio and you can't get it out of your head. the good thing about listening to a college radio station sometimes is you discover a band you have never heard of before. you'll clearly see that example below in the music section.
i hope everyone is keeping cool. the dog days aren't far off it seems.

when i woke up this morning at 5 AM, i believe i was still on the high from last night. that being said, after breakfast i basically became a zombie. i'm still not sure where the hours of 9 to 12 AM actually went. plenty of shit to get to from last night, so on with the show...
it was really fucking odd to see Martin St. Louis in a Rangers jersey. a player that i have always respected from afar, i never thought he'd be wearing Ranger blue at any point of his career. hopefully he helps the team score. they need that so bad. he clicked with Brad Richards immediately, like they did in Tampa 10 years ago. sadly, the Rangers lost in OT 3-2. all three goals from Toronto came from defensive lapses. they need to clean those up soon and start winning again. at least they got a point from the game.
during the commercial breaks of the hockey game, i would flip over to watch the Dayton Flyers. all i wanted was for them to keep the game close. for the most part, they did that. and they overcame a deficit of 10 points in the second half to beat the #17 team in the country on the road, 72-67. amazingly, it was the first time EVER that Dayton had won a game on the road against a ranked team in conference play. such a HUGE win over Saint Louis. just a little more work to do to make sure they are in the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2009. highlights from the game are below:
that was a victory beer that i truly enjoyed.
i did catch Duck Dynasty, Legit, and Ali G last night. all three had me laughing, especially Legit. so wrong and so fucking funny. the ending had me rolling.
tonight i'll be watching The Big Bang Theory and then probably doing the dishes. i've been slacking here a little so i'll be in agony when doing those. well, at least my back will be.
it is finally starting to warm up here just a little. i believe we actually hit the 40's today on the farm. the rumor is tomorrow the 50's might actually make an appearance. it would be certainly welcomed. i would love to see all this fucking snow melt into the ground and be gone for at least a few days.
so after my zombie phase today, i actually made my first purchase on iTunes, just to see if i could figure out how to get it on the computer, etc. thankfully, after 99 cents and a little copy and paste, i felt like i had taken another step into this century. of course, the song i bought was from the last one. baby steps.
amazingly, saw most of the cats today. i figured with hours upon hours of full sunshine, they would be sprawled out all over the farm sunning themselves. they promptly did that after eating for maybe 3 minutes. what a life. if all goes well, the new ones will be getting names in a few weeks.
my thanks to Brian for taking those poems today and the kind words in the email. i really do appreciate it.
be sure to check out some of the podcasts on the right hand side of this blog. you'll be entertained for hours if you do.
that is all for me. need to get my mind right tomorrow as this weekend i'll be attempting to go to a basketball game for the first time in over a month. i'll be sure to take some pain pills with me, just in case.
i hope this finds everyone well. hope the weather is good wherever you are. and may the alcohol flow as freely as you need it to this evening. be well my enemies.
peace.

so here are some quick hits...
got an email this morning saying my poem "pour the blues" was published in Miracle Magazine #7, The Flower edition. you can purchase a copy of the issue here: http://miracleezine.wix.com/miracle-e-zine#!shop/csgz
i did manage to stay up to watch ROH last night. i did mark out a little bit when Kevin Steen came out to confront Mike Bennett. and the more i see Red Dragon perform as a tag team, the more i really think they are one of the best teams in the world. a really good episode.
watched Tori Amos and Shovels & Rope on PBS last night. made me think about the 2 times i've seen Tori live. i'm hoping to catch Shovels & Rope sometime in the near future. their set on Austin City Limits did not disappoint.
most of the college football games late last night were blowouts. i'm still a little stunned at how easy Florida St. destroyed Clemson. i didn't see that coming.
i've got my fantasy football lineups ready to go. nearly half of both of my teams are playing this evening in the Broncos at Colts game. that will make tv viewing this evening a little interesting.
should go something like this; football, Boardwalk Empire, Eastbound and Down, back to football, Homeland, Masters of Sex, over to the NFL network to watch highlights.
i have a decent lead in fantasy hockey going into the last night of the matchup. hopefully when i get back on here late this evening i will have won.
that's all for now. i have trash to pick up and get down to the end of the lane, a Sunday paper to read, cats to feed, and some football pregame shows to watch.
hope this finds everyone well. enjoy your Sunday. it's in the 30's here. and that's in the sun. i guess we're just going to skip right to winter. lovely.

so i survived yesterday much better than i expected. it was kind of funny how people were shocked to see me. most of the people i hadn't seen since graduation, some 19 years ago. i came close to actually having fun. might have even sold a book or two and got this blog a little more exposure. but, it wouldn't be my life if there wasn't something negative to balance all the positive out. as i was leaving the stadium, i started to feel a bit queasy. i decided to head back to the farm instead of going to BW3 with the rest of the gang as i didn't want another one of these situations: http://www.zygoteinmycoffee.com/100s/issue117socialanxiety.html
by staying in i did get to see the Yankees actually play a decent game. Nova pitched great AGAIN, the Grandy man shook off some more rust, and the hammer of god got another save. a nice 3-0 win. hopefully they can win today and get the series. Hughes is on the mound, so i hope the offense feels like scoring today.
ROH last night was really good. just love to see an organization give a spotlight to good tag team wrestling. as a child that grew up on The Rock n Roll Express, Midnight Express, The Road Warriors, The Fabulous Freebirds, and The Rockers, i definitely don't mind seeing great tag teams wrestle. it's sadly a lost art. i enjoyed the episode enough to watch it again today at noon.
i figure i will bounce around some sports this afternoon. a little golf, NASCAR, some baseball, maybe some soccer, all while the house is airing out. always nice when the windows can be open during the dog days of summer.
tonight will be my usual Sunday night viewing of Big Brother, The Newsroom, Ray Donovan, and Total Divas. of course, with shark week starting up, i may flip in some of that as well.
after i mow the grass tomorrow i'm planning on going through some poems and getting a couple submissions out this week.
hope everyone is well. to those of you checking out this blog for the first time, welcome. hope you enjoy. feel free to leave a comment or email me what you think of it. it truly was very nice seeing some people that i have some really fond memories of yesterday.
of course, i got a phone call from my sister this morning bitching about the facebook shit storm i caused with my appearance yesterday. she was getting phone calls at 8 this morning wondering if that was me in some pictures posted. that really made me laugh.
until we meet again...

i managed to post my ramblings yesterday in this blog right before a huge storm rolled through. we didn't get too much damage, just minor shit really. but, a few miles north and they had hurricane force winds and the next town over is still without power this morning. i'm constantly amazed at how lucky we get out here.
the Yankees offense woke up last night, finally. 3 run homer from Cano and a grand slam from Overbay in a 8-1 win. Nova was dominant on the mound once again. i believe he has finally found it. and a nice little rumor this morning, Derek Jeter is going to be called up for the game this afternoon. i'll definitely be tuned in to see if that is true or not. and hopefully watch the Yankees split the series.
i got to enjoy one of my favorite beers last night after the Yankees victory. Sam Adams Cherry Wheat. that little pop of cherry after each drink... perfect. i could drink that beer endlessly until the day i die.
i did watch The Bridge last night on FX. holy shit that was good. definitely will be watching it again. enough plot twists and turns that should keep me interested for the summer.
i did watch Big Brother as well last night and after reading some overnight recaps this morning, i'm afraid i'm going to be in for another sad eviction tonight. looks like it's possible that a member of the all guy alliance has turned on them. while it should make for great trashy tv, it also means that production's little darling Elissa is going to be staying. yuck.
after that tonight i will luckily have Wilfred to turn to for some laughs. that show never disappoints.
there are some Manchester United rumors this morning that i'm not very happy with. starting to remind me of a few years ago when they lost a player at the last moment to a rival. i'm really hoping it's not a case of deja vu. i suppose time will tell, most likely in the next 4 days.
i heard last night on the news that the local pro soccer team will be playing a friendly against Wigan next Tuesday. i'm really tempted to travel to see that one. not sure if it's going to happen though.
i haven't been outside this morning, but it certainly looks like the stranglehold of humidity might have finally broken. if i can feed the animals and not be dripping with sweat after 5 minutes, i'll be happier than a pig in shit.
the poetry itch needs to be scratched again, or so it feels. after the journey into the public yesterday, i believe i may have a few thoughts to be put down on paper this evening. i would have done that last night but my anger with Frontier Communications over the internet going out again at 1:15 am while i was in the middle of doing a survey (for money) royally pissed me off. 3 times at a time where 95% of the people around here are asleep, even the fucking teenagers. i'd love to switch providers but everyone else out here sucks as well. pretty sad when we have to entertain moving just so we can get a more reliable internet service. maybe one day these fuckers out here will wake up and realize it's the 21st century.
allow me to step off my soapbox now...
hope everyone has a great day. i really hope i do.

today is the first day where it truly feels like it is summer outside. full of sun, a bit of humidity, sweat, bug spray, short fuses and cats sleeping on the concrete.
today is also the birthday of the biggest crush i ever had in my life. i use the past tense as a way of telling myself she's never going to leave her husband. but if she ever did... i would have killed people if she asked when i was 17, you can only imagine what i would do now.
the house is open and nearing 80 degrees inside. mom complained about being cold last night with the air conditioning on. i hope she enjoys the other extreme. this feels like my sister's condo now. and she won't run the a/c because she's a tight wad when it comes to money.
i enjoyed Monday Night Raw last night. i got a good laugh when they said it was the first time Daniel Bryan and Seth Rollins wrestled against each other. i do believe i recall a match 5 years ago in ROH between Bryan Danielson and Tyler Black. it was great then as it is now. i figure when CM Punk is back and the Wyatt Family is running around, it might actually become 3 hours of great television again.
i did watch most of The Voice last night. i'm not sure if my 3 picks are going to make it or not. i really didn't care for Sasha's performances last night. i still believe it will be Danielle, Michelle, and Sasha. if she doesn't make it, i can't believe i'm typing this, but i think The Swon Brothers could crack the final 3. tonight should be heartbreaking for 2 people at least.
so, from The Voice tonight i will jump to Deadliest Catch. from there it will become crazy time. all going on at the same time mind you. the Yankees are out in Oakland starting a series. team USA plays Panama in World Cup Qualifying. and game 3 of the NBA Finals are on as well. needless to say i will be wearing out the remote once again. and hopefully enjoying two victory beers at the end of it.
i have been a busy boy networking over at LinkedIn. hopefully it actually leads to some productive ideas. or at the very least, increased book sales.

no news on the critter front. both traps were closed this morning with nothing in them. i'm figuring the curious ass cats triggered them or the dumb ass birds did. i did laugh when the groundhog was sniffing around the closed trap at dusk last night. life truly is a comedy of fucking errors.
that's all for today. i'm off to figure how the fuck i'm going to get to wherever to see NIN play on this tour coming up. these are the moments where i figure it might have actually been good to have more than a handful of friends over 37 years of existence.
hindsight, you evil fucker...

i was feeling pretty damn good. just watched the Yankees win again to sweep away Cleveland. i was just getting ready to open a victory beer when i noticed one of the bird feeders was down. after a big swig i looked a little closer and saw the raccoon that must have knocked it down. so much for the spray fucking working i thought. so, i bolted out of the house and chased the fucker up about 40 feet. i went back inside to enjoy some more of the victory beer. then i noticed the raccoon was getting ready to go back to the bird feeder. it was at this time i really wished my father would have taught me how to use a gun. instead, like a fucking madman, i went out with a hoe and a large rock. this is one of the reasons why i have told my mother i prefer not having neighbors. i just missed the fucker once, but i did scare it up another 10 feet or so.
sadly, i don't think that raccoon understands i'm a very patient person and have nothing but time and gravity on my side. and someone is going to pay for the suet feeder that is now missing. i'll let everyone know if i have a new hat by tomorrow.
very nice wins by the Yankees yesterday and today. just enough offense and good enough pitching. a big complete game today by CC was very much needed. the bullpen could use the rest. a big 4 game series in Seattle starts tomorrow. looks like i will be on west coast time at night for a little while.
Deadliest Catch got me once again last night. having survived blood clots in my left leg and all the hellish pain that went with it, anytime i hear about someone else that has it and is near death... to say i'm lucky is a bit of an understatement. easily, one of the best shows on television.
and i watch Backyard Oil after it just to remind my mother that is where her kin are from. good laughs.
i was pleased when the first 3 people saved on The Voice were the 3 i said had the best chance to win it all. makes me feel like i actually know what i'm talking about. i was a little sad to see Holly from Team Blake go, but it was bound to happen sometime.
watched a little of the hockey game last night. i was pleased that the Kings won as it means more hockey before the finals.
i've got some dishes to do and a raccoon to out wait, so i believe that is all for today.
