i often think of my creative process like a child goes out for a swim and you patiently wait for the child to come back to shore. most of the time, the child makes it back. it gets more interesting when the child doesn't. then, the creative process becomes this adventure. i have multiple poems swimming around my head. they tend to make it to shore around 3 AM. and people wonder why i don't sleep much...

the grocery shopping went pretty good today. saw one of the most beautiful women i think i have ever seen in my life today at Kroger. this stunning blonde, dressed in all black. she walked past me in one aisle and i caught a glimpse of her out of the corner of my eye. just one of those women that makes you stop dead in your tracks. she was in the checkout lane next to mine. i suppose it was a good thing my line was running slow.

so, i was really hoping i was going to be talking about a Rangers victory today. instead, i was shaving off my beard last night, wondering yet again, what the fuck happened. the Rangers lost last night at New Jersey, 4-0, to lose the series 4-3. judging from the postgame comments, i really think the Rangers are going to have to make some changes to the team. and that is going to be difficult as they have some big name big price players that need to move and there won't be many teams willing to do anything unless the Rangers will be eating some of the contracts. so, i'm going to be really curious to see what Chris Drury does this summer to the roster. it is painfully obvious, they need more will and less skill as that skill never fucking showed up in the playoffs.
the New York Yankees are now inventing ways to lose. they were up 2-0 last night on Cleveland and Aaron Boone needlessly took out his starter after 88 pitches to go to his closer and sure enough, Cleveland scored 3 runs in the 9th to win, 3-2. between the injuries, bad luck and incompetence, the Yankees are in last place in the division. joy.

i went to the bank today and Rite Aid. i also stopped by Walgreens and Big Lots, looking for baseball cards. amazingly, i found not only some baseball cards, but some football and hockey cards.

so, we had a plumber out here this morning. turns out our flange on our toilet was cracked. the plumber said it was an easy fix and he was gone in just over a hour. they picked up the trash late, so that made it fun driving in town. it was like a fucking obstacle course. the cards i ordered from Etsy got here sooner than i was expecting. they were mostly NBA cards, plus a few baseball cards and old WCW wrestling cards. all in all, i think i got my money's worth. i did get all the grocery shopping done. got home in time to watch a little soccer, walk with my mother outside and write a poem down that came to me when i was driving today listening to the radio. thankfully, the sun was out today.

the New York Yankees lost last night at the Twins, 6-2. that meant the Twins won their first season series against the Yankees since 2001. apparently, that must have pissed off the Yankees, as they won the game this afternoon, 12-6. the Yankees play tomorrow night in Texas against the Rangers.

so, i didn't get to bed until 5 AM. i did the dishes after i watched the shows last night and then sent those poems out. eventually, my brain gave up and i fell asleep around 5. little did i know, mom didn't fall asleep until around 5 as well. so, when i was chowing down breakfast at 11:30 this morning, knowing that i had to get her to her physical therapy at 1 this afternoon; she was on the phone cancelling her appointment as most of her breakfast ended up as vomit in the trash can. i was getting ready when she told me she wasn't going. that set off a nice chain of events with my body, as i tried to slow all the processes down, if you know what i mean. that didn't work. so, after a few memorable moments on the toilet, i took a nap this afternoon and think i'm back on the tracks. as for my mother, i think she is still asleep. i figure she needs it.

if all goes well, i won't be shaving again until sometime in June. now, i started doing this back in the 90's and got to see one glorious run to the Stanley Cup in 1994. the beard i can grow now is light years better than what i could grow back then. that is saying something since i have been shaving since the age of 12. so, i hope tonight the New York Rangers start the journey to winning another Stanley Cup.

i did write 3 poems today while mom was in physical therapy. i also made a trip to the bank when she was in there. mom is really feeling better so i am giving her more room to be an individual. i know how much she appreciates that.
a big thank you to everyone for checking out my latest published poems:
the fan noise that i was complaining about yesterday suddenly went away today when i put my thumb drive into the computer to send out some poems. i'm guessing i took something out too soon a couple of days ago and never put two and two together. so far, the noise hasn't come back, so that's a plus.
as for the poems, i sent 5 poems out to Synchronized Chaos. when i hear back from Cristina on them, i will pass along the verdict.

i am in an incredible run of bad luck when it comes to gambling. apparently, i must have made a deal with the devil for Jon Rahm to win The Masters, as i haven't won a single bet since that happened. the streak is at 30 fucking bets in a row now. the beauty of $1 bets is you can make plenty of them. but, it really fucking sucks when you lose, especially when you have 2 out of 3 or 3 out of 4 or 4 out of 5 on fucking parlay bet after parlay bet. if i was gambling like the big boys do, i would be hanging from the ceiling by now.
i did watch some of the NBA play in games last night.

a big thank you to Ancestry.com for reminding me today that i am related to the cousin that sexually molested me. it is a damn good thing i can find pleasure in all of this fucking pain. i shudder to think what would actually happen if i couldn't.
