so, Manchester United pissed away a 2-0 lead today at Porto in the Europa League. add to that, Bruno got another red card for a high boot that made no fucking contact with a player, even though the Porto player acted like Bruno made him bleed. but, United tied the game at 3 in the 91st minute. still, a 3-3 draw isn't fucking good enough.
a delightful trip into the dark mind of an evil genius or simply the musings of an asshole

another pissed off afternoon...
i did take mom to her podiatrist today. they were more busy than normal. i also set up her appointment next week to have more blood work done and the appointment for both of us to get our COVID shots. i know she wanted to get all that done before she has her eye surgery.
The Masked Singer was crazy as usual last night.
i completely forgot that there was two episodes of Grotesquerie on last night. they were excellent.

and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, The Old Man and NJPW.
i might watch some of the NFL game tonight and maybe Game 3 between the Mets and Brewers.
the Yankees will be playing the Royals in the playoffs. with the Orioles and Astros both out of the playoffs, Aaron Boone has no fucking excuses to use if the Yankees don't make it to the World Series.
i have no damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow.
i also have no damn clue what i am making for dinner.
until tomorrow kids...

breakfast at noon...
so, mom wanted to go get her blood work done this morning. sadly, she can't move as fast as she thinks she can anymore. so, by the time we got to the hospital to have the blood work done, it was after 11 AM. she had me wait in the car, which surprised me. i wish she would have told me that before we left so i could have brought pen and paper with me. oh well. she was back out 30 minutes later. we went to Waffle House to finally eat breakfast. that was at noon. joy.
Monday Night Raw was good last night.
enjoy some music:
thanks to everyone that checked out my latest published poems. i really appreciate it.
i should be on here tomorrow after i get all the grocery shopping done. i'm not quite sure what is on the list just yet, so that should be fun.
i need to pick up the trash here and next door, so that's all for me kids.

it was fun while it lasted...
the New York Rangers lost last night to Carolina, 4-1. the Rangers had a lead in the series for all of 3 minutes. they were outworked the entire series. so, i'm not going to bitch and moan about this or that, Carolina deserved to win. now, i can only hope that the Rangers get the #1 pick in the NHL Draft and hope that The King wants to stay or wants to go win a cup somewhere else and agrees to a trade. joy.
i nearly forgot that Manchester United was playing today in the Europa League. it's the second leg of their match from months ago. they are up 5-0 going into the match today. it's currently 0-0, so i haven't missed much.
Deadliest Catch was really good last night.

the New York Yankees play a doubleheader today at Philadelphia. i'd be thrilled if they can win both games today.
i did write 4 poems last night after the Rangers loss. thankfully, none of them had to do with hockey. i typed those up and i should have enough to do another round of submissions here soon.
the grocery stores were pretty quiet today. i had to go to 3 stores to get everything on the list. i did manage to keep everything around $100 though.
i did pick up some baseball cards today. it was one of those cheap packs at the drugstore. i wasn't expecting much out of it. there was a few hits, including one card going for $8, so that made me happy.
i have no damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

she would have been 108 today...
my birthday is tomorrow. my grandmother's birthday is today. or was, seeing that she is dead. she would have been 108 today. i imagine if she was alive, she'd still be smoking by a window saying woe is me and listening to old gospel songs. she died back in the 90's.
happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day. hopefully it was more than just a day off for you.
so, we had a nice night of miscommunication last night. i thought my sister was going home last night, as my mother told me. that wasn't correct. and we had a big dinner last night. mom thought we were going to do the cake and presents after dinner. i started watching my Sunday night shows as i was too full to have something else. so, mom got pissy and did her passive aggressive act and went to bed. i watched the shows with my sister until about midnight as my sister requires something resembling 8 hours of sleep a night. i told her if you ever see me sleep 8 hours, i'm dead. i went to bed around 2 and was up at 6 this morning to take a giant shit. enjoy the visual.
i opened my presents today. my sister got me a book, some music and some clothes. my mother got me some clothes and a card. it was all more than i was expecting. i sent my sister home with some cake.
the NFL games went as i was expecting yesterday. Kansas City defeated Tennessee, 35-24. San Francisco defeated Green Bay, 37-20. Chiefs vs. 49ers should be a good Super Bowl.
the New York Rangers blew a lead last night and lost to Columbus, 2-1. if they actually want to make the playoffs, that's a game they needed to win.
Batwoman was pretty good last night.
Power was excellent last night.
the season finale of Ray Donovan was great last night.
Shameless was really good last night. the season finale is next week.
The Outsider was fucking weird as hell last night. loved it.
Avenue 5 was pretty funny last night.

well, it was going to end sometime...
mom had to cancel her physical therapy today. the injection she got yesterday really kicked her ass. so, that meant i got the chance to watch the Manchester United game this afternoon. when United was down 2-0, i thought well shit, the winning streak had to end sometime. when United made it 2-2 in the 92 minute, i thought holy shit, maybe this team does have some magic in them. sadly, the game ended 2-2, but i'm actually happy they rescued a point out of the game. especially since Burnley had no interest in doing anything after they went up 2-0. they parked the bus and gave up 2 goals. ha ha.
i also decided not to go to the Dayton Flyers game tonight. it's cold as hell outside and the game is on television. easy decision.
Monday Night Raw was really good last night.
Celebrity Big Brother was nuts again last night.
Breslin and Hamill: Deadline Artists was really good last night.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and Smackdown. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.
also playing tonight are the New York Rangers at home against Philadelphia. if everything goes well tonight, hopefully i will be drinking two victory drinks.
i got those 12 poems i wrote yesterday typed up this morning. i really like a few of them.
i have no clue if mom will actually have her doctor's appointment tomorrow or not. they are saying the windchill in the morning is going to be close to -50 degrees. i wouldn't be shocked if the doctor's office is closed tomorrow. i'm torn, because the appointment was to start the process so we can figure out what the fuck is wrong with her shoulder. oh well.
the Dayton Flyers are getting ready to start so that's all for me kids.
i have no damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

well, at least it's not cancer
when my doctor mentioned tumor yesterday, i wasn't sure how to react. i'm sure part of me was giddy with the thought of death. but, part of me is actually (stupidly) hoping to enjoy a little of life before i die. thankfully, it's not the kind of tumor that involves cancer. what is going on with my stomach is a Lipoma. it's usually a lump of fatty tissue that develops right under the skin. my doctor told me to not think about it unless it starts to cause me pain. that usually comes about if the tissue starts to grow around the nerves. as for my left leg, they don't believe any new blood clots or anything is forming. as for my bad back, i have a physical therapy session scheduled for Monday. all my blood test levels came back good. my A1C was down enough that i could get off of one pill. but of course, my blood pressure was up, so now i'm on a pill for that.
i got home in time to watch most of the second half of Manchester United vs. Valencia. after watching 20 minutes of it, i almost wished they would have sent me to get x-rays done instead. United is fucking woeful at the moment. just unwatchable. a 0-0 draw wasn't what i was hoping to see yesterday.
Smackdown was pretty good last night.
The Jim Jefferies Show was hilarious last night.
The Voice was good last night.
Mayans M.C. was excellent last night.
Mr Inbetween was really good last night. hard to imagine the season finale is already coming up next week.

i did do a little poetry work last night. i know where the next 10 poems are going. i will hopefully get those out before the weekend comes.
the NHL regular season starts tonight. i might watch a little of the games. the New York Rangers season starts tomorrow night.
since it rained yesterday, the landscaper didn't come over last night. he had some other jobs to do and the rain caused a delay. he's coming over tonight i guess to show us what he is planning to do with the yard.

of all the characters to die...
i knew going into the season finale of Homeland last night, someone from the main cast was going to die. that was just how the show was going this season. the fact that it was Peter Quinn was a bit shocking. he's one of the characters i have truly loved over all the seasons of the show. at least he went out like i'm sure he wanted to... gunfire galore. overall, it was a pretty damn good finale. next season should be fascinating.
Girls was very good last night. the series finale next week should be very interesting.
the season finale of Crashing last night was hilarious. i have no clue if there will be a season 2, but i did enjoy all the comedians on season 1.
Last Week Tonight was fucking great as always last night.
Billions was really good last night. i can't wait to see how the final scene will set up the rest of the season.
Feud: Bette and Joan was excellent once again last night.
the New York Yankees won yesterday 7-3, avoiding the sweep in Baltimore. that should help them be in a better mood for the home opener today against Tampa.
the New York Rangers won their final regular season game last night against Pittsburgh 3-2. hopefully they will be ready for a long playoff run when they play up in Montreal on Wednesday.
i was very happy that i got to have 3 victory drinks yesterday. 2 rum and cokes and 1 wild turkey and coke. and amazingly, my blood sugar wasn't through the roof when i took it this morning. so, maybe i have figured out how to drink while having type 2 diabetes.

let the poetry begin
so, i sort of decided to do some random bullshit each day for National Poetry Month. some news stories, some poet spotlights, some YouTube videos, etc. etc. basically, whatever my lazy ass feels like doing that day. so, let's kick off the month with my favorite living poet, John Sweet.
if you are not familiar with John's work, shame on you. here's a few links to help you.

and then do yourself a favor and go subscribe to his blog:
http://bleedinghorse.blogspot.com/
the New York Rangers got a much needed 3-2 win last night up in Winnipeg. the game had a little poetic justice with the winning goal. watch the highlights and you'll understand what i'm talking about.
i was up late last night getting my laundry done. but, i did manage to get some sleep, figuring the people coming to get the furniture were going to be here early. of course, that didn't happen. not sure why someone would piss away the chance to get over $1,000 worth of furniture for fucking free. oh well. not sure what's going to happen to it now, i just know it needs to get out of the fucking garage. soon.
i got a good nap in this afternoon and was using the vacuum when my mother got back home. i figured that was excellent timing; letting her believe i actually give a shit about keeping the new house clean. i thought i was driving her to work today but she decided she wanted to go it alone.
had a little test of my sanity today. nothing quite like opening up the blinds in the kitchen to see the woman that molested me as a child sweeping the sidewalk next door. i sort of just mumbled to myself 'i wonder how long until i murder everyone?'. good times.
i did get some poems ready to send to that broadside project. i'm guessing that will happen before the end of the week.
tonight on the DVR i will have Lucha Underground. mostly because since i have the WWE Network now, i get to finally see NXT. so, basically my night will be one filled with pro wrestling. seems like a fitting way to close up April Fool's Day.
that's all for me. i need to go over to the farm and get some more stuff out of there, feed the cats, and get the mail at the PO Box, etc. etc.
hope the new month finds everyone ready for some warmer weather.

falling asleep at the computer
the basketball game last night completely drained me. drained me to the point that i was falling asleep at the computer last night as i was checking emails.
Dayton played like absolute shit in the first half. the coach had been telling everyone for 3 days how Bowling Green would come out in this game and just like most teenagers or young adults, the players didn't listen. Dayton was down by 8 at half time. now, this is the part where i truly know i am a genius. as the second half started i told my mother what Dayton should do. just cut the lead down in each 4 minute segment and by the end, they will be right there. when Dayton tied the score at 39, i was feeling pretty good. when Bowling Green rattled off 11 straight points to go up 50-39 with something like 11 minutes left, i was thinking fuck me runnin'. thankfully, Dayton finally showed up with the Dayton team i know they can be. Dayton finished the game on a 17-2 run to win 56-52. hats off to Devon Scott for completely outplaying a NBA prospect last night. Dayton next plays at Arkansas. as much as i would like to think they can win, they better play about 1000000000000% better than have been playing. here are some highlights from last night:
we got home from the game in time to watch the Dan Patrick interview on the Golf Channel. that was pretty good.
i was up late enough to see this last night. i absolutely laughed my ass off. the genius of Ricky Gervais:
i got to see what i missed on The Voice last night. my two locks did make it through to the finals. i have no clue what America sees in Chris Jamison. his voice sounds like dog shit to me. Damien won the overnight vote between all the performers previously voted off to be the fourth finalist. so, all 3 members of Team Adam make it to the finals along with Craig from Team Blake. i'll laugh my ass off if Craig wins it.
i think i have to drive mom to a doctor's appointment here in a few hours, so i thought i better get this out of the way.
tonight should be an interesting night of television for me. i'm looking forward to Lucha Underground tonight. and then, i'm really looking forward to American Horror Story.
currently, i'm getting my Christmas card list together and figuring out who is going to get some goodies. i also have cats to feed and it looks like the birds need some food as well.
if you'd like to get me something for the holidays, feel free to get me ANYTHING from my Amazon.com wish list. you'll find a link to it on the right hand side of this blog.
that's all for me today. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

who needs sleep
i found myself up at something like 4 in the morning, catching up on some television i missed, wondering why do i even bother with sleep anymore. my life is a series of naps anymore. so be it.
the Yankees got some great pitching last night and some very timely hitting to beat another former Cy Young winner, 5-1. they go for the series win this afternoon.
i caught up on the episode of Hard Knocks i missed the other night on HBO. as a Saints fan, i'm watching this with part laughter and part trying to learn the secrets of the enemy. i do like the false bravado of these assholes. no wonder the Falcons stunk last year.
Big Brother was interesting last night. and i surely thought i knew who was going to be evicted tonight until i read what happened in the house last night. now, i really have no clue who is going to go out with the first vote tonight, let alone, the second eviction tonight. i love the double eviction nights. let the chaos begin.
Wilfred was really good last night. they have set up the series finale next week perfectly. can't wait.
The Bridge was brilliant as always last night. another couple of twists that really will take the show to yet another level. i absolutely love this show.
had a really great conversation with a publisher last night that really brought my confidence way back up. just the shot of energy i needed. so, thank you Chris Byck. best of luck with your new job.
i'm looking forward to the new episodes of Married and You're the Worst tonight on FX.
i figure i'll be watching the Yankees game today while i'm cleaning out my closet. hopefully it is a long ass game as i haven't touched that damn thing in years.
that's really all for me today. i do hope this finds everyone well. and please, if you do like this blog or my writing, etc., TELL THE REST OF THE FUCKING WORLD...
be well. be cool. be creative. be quick to send me cash, panties, hate mail, whatever your heart desires.

and then the rains came...
my back tensed up in the morning yesterday, so i knew rain was on the way. sadly, the rain didn't get here until late at night. talk about a day of agony. and now i'm going to unload it on all 3 of you who read this. my apologies.
the Yankees lost yesterday, 6-4. they reverted back to the mistake filled first half of the season. a tad bit frustrating as they lost a chance to move up in the division as well. they will play this afternoon, needing a win to win the series and finish the homestand on a good note.
i figure i might check out some of the Baseball Hall of Fame inductions today. mostly, i want to see Joe Torre. the former Yankees manager certainly brought me tremendous joy in the late 90's.
Manchester United beat Roma, 3-2. they really only played a good 15 minutes. Wayne Rooney scored 2 goals and had an assist during those 15 minutes. LvG changed all but 2 players at halftime. the second half was mostly United hanging on for dear life. but, i'll gladly take a win. plus, it gives LvG plenty to bitch about and teachable moments for the squad to learn from. they next play on Tuesday against Inter Milan.
i did enjoy most of the UFC on FOX last night. with storms in the area, the local broadcast kept cutting in. the only reason i was pissed is none of the storms were actually local. they were mostly in areas that don't even watch FOX. but, at least i got to see the main event without any interruptions.
today is trash day at the farm. i figure i will do most of that once i get done with this. i have no idea when i'm taking the trash down to the road. i guess i need to check when it is going to storm today.
ROH was really good last night. if you love tag team wrestling, i highly recommend this episode.
another busy night of television is in store for me tonight. Big Brother, Ray Donovan, The Strain, Last Week Tonight, and Masters of Sex. and with any luck, i'll be able to get to bed before 2 in the morning.
i need to get the dishes done today as well. that will be fun with my body in pain. good times.
that's all for me today. i need to get my ass going. hope everyone is well. hopefully your Saturday night wasn't spent praying to the porcelain gods.
be well. be creative. be eager to send me cash. be cool.

and summer takes a break
it's crazy to think it's July 15th and i'm able to turn the AC off and just open up the windows in the house and truly be comfortable. it's supposed to be like this for the next 3 days. hopefully this break of the summer heat produces some great sleeping weather at night.
mom got her lab results today. nothing really jumped out, so now a trip to a neurologist is the next stop. my fear is that her problems have something to do with the un-diagnosed concussion she had last year. i suppose only time will tell.
i might have watched 10 minutes or so of the home run derby last night. other than the balls that nearly left the stadium, i was bored. i figure it will be the same with the all star game tonight. i'll try to watch the introductions and probably Jeter's first at bat and whatnot, but other than that, no chance i watch the whole game. none.
Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night. they did a decent job of setting up the next pay per view, coming this Sunday. i did get a good laugh when the crowd booed at the Sting announcement. i don't think he's going to hit the ring for another huge run at the age of 52 or so. too bad these kids will only know him for being in a video game.
on the docket for tonight is Deadliest Catch and Tyrant. both of these shows are in the MUST SEE category for me now.
as soon as i get this done, i'll be heading to the store with mom. so, maybe i'll have a grocery store poem or two to write up later tonight. that's the joy of being one observant mother fucker. i see shit in public settings that "normal" people simply don't even bother to think to look for. i'm finding that these little public excursions are slowly getting me more comfortable around people. emphasis on the slowly part.
had a weird afternoon on iTunes. my 90's brain must have sprung a leak today as i was searching for some obscure shit. and i found it. you should see what i'm talking about in the music section below.
so, now the question is what wrestling t-shirt do i wear to the store?
hope this finds everyone well. now back to your regularly scheduled programming.
take it easy. and then take it again.

as the world turns
yesterday was one of those days that seemed like it was never going to end. from the soccer, to the baseball, to the bad news, to the rumors, to a late night phone call, to arthritic pain at 4 in the morning. just another time when i nod my head to the 8 year old me, that wanted to die so bad that he started to come up with a plan. hindsight, you cruel heavenly goddess of guilt.
i went to the store with my mother yesterday as she needed to get some shit and i needed beer. it was a pretty quick trip, not much drama. way too many young ladies smiling at me. either my fly was down or someone thought i should be in jail. we got back home just in time for the World Cup game.
Argentina beat the Netherlands on penalty kicks, 4-2. such a different game from the day before. i felt bad for the one defender for the Dutch who had the first pk stopped. he played so good in the game, handcuffing Messi for the entire game, to only be remembered for that fuck up. CRUEL. this sets up a World Cup Final of Germany vs. Argentina. i had Argentina losing in my original prediction, so i will stay with that. Germany will be looking to become the first European team to win in South America. the 3rd place game takes place the day before the final. that could and should be wildly entertaining if both teams just say fuck it and play nothing but offense. Brazil vs. Netherlands. of course, no matter how good it might be, no one will ever remember it. in all sports, it's the finals or failure.
the Yankees got horrible news yesterday with Tanaka going on the disabled list with elbow pain. NOT GOOD. then, Carlos Beltran broke his face in 2 spots in a freak batting practice accident. i'm starting to believe this fucking team is cursed. this was all before they even played the game. as for the game, their new starting pitcher started a little leaky, not helped at all by the defense, but soon settled down. Tex made up for his error with 2 home runs. the game went into extra innings. eventually, in the 14th inning, Ellsbury hit a home run that proved to be the winning margin. 5-4. just about everyone that could pitch for the Yankees did. hopefully the starter tonight goes deep into the game.
i was a little upset that CBS didn't show the fireworks from the POV meeting on Big Brother last night. i suppose that will happen tonight, but it will be heavily edited, as most of the show seems to be. i'm hoping Zach stays, as that will piss off Devin. and the sooner they can get that asshole out of the house, the happier i will be. i'll be interested to see who the next two HOHs are. hopefully two people that actually know how to play the game.
Wilfred last night was a great mind fuck. i totally love where this final season is going.
The Bridge last night was just as bloody as i remember the first season being. looks like another great season is on the way.
we had a bird fly into the bay window this morning. it hit the window so damn hard it sounded like a bomb going off. it was a pretty big bird as well. 20 minutes later i checked and it was gone. so, either it flew away or the cats got to it. anything is possible out here on the farm.
i suppose i should get out there and feed those dumb animals before too much of the day gets away from me. i also want to get to the bank today and make a feeble deposit. the joys of being poor, when putting $20 into your checking account is a good day.
i had a weird feeling this morning, musically, so my purchases from iTunes certainly reflect that. you'll see that below.
also, got a flexible ruler at the store yesterday that will come in handy for some upcoming art projects. i'm hoping to brush off some of those skills i learned in high school. good thing my brain remembers all this shit.
looks like the weather should be close to nice for the next few days. hopefully i'll be able to enjoy it.
that's all for me my enemies. not sure when i'll be on here tomorrow. that creative itch needs to be scratched once again, so who knows.
peace and chicken grease...
