as a sports fan, i do a pretty good job of staying in the moment. the task at hand, etc. i do my best to apply that to my life. and i am trying to get mom to do that as well. my belief is when her mind starts to wander off into the distance, her auto-pilot is drunk and asleep at the wheel. that would explain the falls, etc. just a theory but it makes sense, at least in my eyes.
i wrote 2 poems while mom was in physical therapy yesterday. i typed those up after we ate lunch. she wanted an Orange Cream shake from Arby's, so we just got lunch from there. i tried that new Wagyu beef sandwich they have. it was really good. the poems were really good as well. i'm hoping to get another handful of poems written this week so i'll have plenty to choose from for the next round of submissions.
the New York Yankees lost to Baltimore last night, 6-4. that is 3 losses in a row for the Yankees. hopefully, they will end that fucking streak tonight.

i was up for 23 hours yesterday. i'm not exactly sure that's good, but after 5 hours of sleep, i was all ready to go today. mom's hip replacement went as expected. she's been able to get up and walk a little and remains on schedule to come home tomorrow. that is why i went to the grocery store after i was at the hospital today, figuring i better have some food in the house when she gets home. my sister will be down this weekend for the holiday and to help with mom. it's going to be interesting to see how she does. i do like that she really doesn't want me at the hospital. i don't mind that, as i would love for her to get some sleep and all the pain meds she can while she's there. of course, this hot ass nurse said hello to me today, so i might be at the hospital for most of tomorrow.
i wrote 10 poems yesterday while at the hospital. most of them were written while i was in the waiting room. oh by the way, since my aunt was getting her hip done just a few hours after mom, the cousin that molested me was there in the same waiting room as well. needless to say, the poems were flowing. i typed them up this morning and i really like most of them.
most of what i did after i got home was catch up on all the television i had missed.
Gotham was amazing. Deadliest Catch was really good. i enjoyed most of Monday Night Raw, Smackdown and 205 Live. and i was not shocked by who won The Voice:
the James Corden special was pretty fucking good.
the New York Yankees pissed away a lead last night after winning the night before. hopefully they can get a win tonight against the Royals.
i did catch a little of the hockey and basketball playoffs going on. mostly, i was really just hoping to sleep.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.
so about 10 seconds after i got home from the grocery store, i turned on the Manchester United game. it was just in time to see Paul Pogba score. i'm sure most of the neighborhood could hear me scream. United completely outclassed Ajax today and won the Europa League for the first time ever. by winning, it puts United back into the Champions League. now, the silly season of all the big names linked to the club can start again. after all that has gone on in Manchester this week, i'm so damn happy that the boys can bring back a trophy.
if this was the last time Wayne, it's been an absolute pleasure to watch you all these years. Thank You.
now, i will spend the rest of the evening getting drunk and trying to get some rest. i know tomorrow is going to be a hectic fucking day.
i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i'm hoping to do one late, probably at night.

and your whatever the fuck i wanted you to see video of the day:
little did i know, today i had to drive my mom around south of town. and today was the first day it actually felt like summer outside. heat, humidity... weather not made for fat people. we got a little bite to eat once we got south of town. now, by south of town, i mean about 45 minutes away from where we live. after lunch, i had to drive her to her financial planner's office. after about 15 minutes there, someone finally came out to get the info mom had brought them. at least the waiting room had air conditioning. after that, mom wanted to look at cars. she uses Consumer Reports like its the bible, so our first stop was at Subaru. we found two models that we both really liked. this made me believe that i might have my own vehicle sometime soon. we got the info mom wanted and left. a few miles away was a Menards. so of course we went. i needed bird food and some more trinkets to put in the yard. i'm really close to making this a sophisticated white trash paradise. $88 later, we headed to the closest Kia dealership. this was a clusterfuck and a half. only 2 salespeople working and about 7 customers there. needless to say, i doubt we are getting one of those. of course, if Consumer Reports says otherwise, who knows. by this time, it was rush hour and i hate people and traffic. i'm the type of asshole that wants you to be as attentive and assertive as i am. if you're not, my first temptation is to run you the fuck off the road. add on top of that, we needed to get gas. i decided that i was going to wait to get gas until we got back to town. that worked fine and we pulled into the garage at 6 pm. we left the house before 1. mom was tired. no shit.
i still have the trash to pick up in the house, and i want to get that done before The Voice comes on tonight.
speaking of The Voice, last night the show was amazing. i am totally blown away by the talent this season. i have no clue who is going to win the show tonight, but i'm really hoping Adam Wakefield does.
Gotham was damn near perfect last night. i can't fucking wait for the next season. it should be amazing.
Monday Night Raw was really good last night. i liked the qualification matches for the next pay per view. especially since that brought about the match between AJ Styles and Kevin Owens. the interview between Mick Foley and Shane McMahon was pretty interesting last night. i did like the behind the scenes stuff about the Montreal Screwjob and WrestleMania 32.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be The Voice, Deadliest Catch and The Price Is Right: Big Brother Edition.
the New York Yankees are playing the Blue Jays as i am typing this. they are winning in the 2nd inning. hopefully they can continue the winning streak.
i believe i know which poem i am going to do for my next SoundCloud recording. my hope is to do that one tomorrow.
happy birthday to my favorite Manchester United player ever, King Eric Cantona.
that's all for me today kids. i hope everyone enjoyed a great day with the weather wherever you are.

i got up early this morning to get the paper. i could feel it was still raining, so i wanted to get out there and get it before it was soaked. the lazy fucker that delivers it put it in the mailbox instead of just putting it in plastic. oh well.
i wanted to make sure i was fully ready for the Manchester United game this morning. i didn't want another team celebrating at Old Trafford and i knew United had to win to have any realistic chance of finishing in the top 4 this season.
United came out on fire and Anthony Martial eventually scored the opening goal of the game. of course, as i have seen way too many fucking times this season, United never truly pressed ahead to get that next goal. Leicester eventually scored on a set piece to send the game to half at 1-1. United has had a tendency this season to over pass the ball instead of shooting. that was what the entire second half was, including after Leicester went down to 10 men. yet another day of fucking frustration. final score, 1-1. so Leicester doesn't win the title at Old Trafford but more importantly, United will need a fucking miracle even god can't produce to finish in the top 4 this season. sadly, the best part of the game was seeing my favorite Manchester United player ever in the stands, Eric Cantona. long live The King.
i did watch the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremonies last night. i wish N.W.A. would have performed, that certainly would have made some white people uncomfortable. i did enjoy Cheap Trick performing though. that's one of those bands i'd still love to see live.
i didn't watch the New York Yankees at all last night. from the look of the final score (8-0), i didn't miss a damn thing. they will try to not get swept tonight by Boston. given their recent history against David Price, they have no fucking chance.
enjoy some music kids:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be House of Lies, Silicon Valley, Veep and one of my favorite shows EVER, Penny Dreadful.
while all of that is recording on the DVR, i will be watching WWE Payback on WWE Network. it could be a sneaky great ppv. a ton of "new" matches and one of my favorite rivalries of all time, Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn. that should steal the show. i believe after that is over the WWE's new adult cartoon, Camp WWE will be airing.
so it looks like my night will be full of wrestling and some crazy shit. good times.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday will be even better.

and your whatever the fuck i wanted you to see video of the day:
i will admit it, the Rangers winning in OT last night caught me completely by surprise. i was very happy that the team finally showed some fight and got some of the breaks to go their way finally. highlights are below:
game 5 is on Saturday. i have no idea if they will win or not, all i know is all the pressure is now on Boston to not have another collapse like a few years ago. if the Rangers can get an early lead, it will get interesting.
the Yankees start a series in that dump in Tampa tonight. it would be nice to get back to winning. the lead in the division is down to 1 game.
i imagine i will bounce between some hockey and basketball as well this evening.
my cat Whitey got a hold of a rabbit this morning. i was astonished when i went out later to see that nothing was left of it. and the bitch still wanted some cat food.
i might take some pictures this weekend, as long as the weather stays pleasant. it's a little cool today, but sunny.
i do hope everyone has a fun and safe Memorial Day weekend. hopefully i won't spend most of it on the computer.
music today:
Hayes Carll - KMAG YOYO (& other American stories)
Fun. - Some Nights
Paul Thorn - What The Hell Is Goin' On?
and now a quote from one of my favorites of all time
it's so ungodly sticky today. reminds me of my only trip to Florida as a child. was at a Days Inn in the Orlando area where one half of the hotel was in a thunderstorm and the other half was in the sun. we haven't got nearly as much rain as i would have loved to... but the holiday weekend is still young.
woke up this morning with my back in the normal pain for shitty weather. the pain in my left leg i couldn't figure out. given my past history with blood clots, there's always that haunting feeling in the back of my head. i did some stretching on my left hip and that seemed to do the trick. i figure given my luck, 36 and here comes arthritis. of course, the fun didn't really start until i was going out to feed the cats and the water jug i take out with me fell as i was changing my shoes and broke. water all over the mud room. just what i fucking need.
after breakfast watched Manchester United play. of course they didn't score first, but RvP comes to the rescue again. and of course they give up the next goal 10 minutes into the second half. now, i learned a lesson long ago watching Eric Cantona play that the magic always comes, but it will test your will to live until it does. so after RvP misses a pk (too cheeky for my liking) Sir Alex stands up, points at the watch and gives the look. and holy shit, for the millionth time i guess, here come the late goals. RvP with a garbage one and then the sweet header in extra time for a 3-2 win. 4 goals in 3 games. i guess the money was well spent.
so, while enjoying the post victory beer, i turn on the Yankees. they get off to a quick lead but given how this season has gone, that doesn't mean shit. Phil Hughes gives up a home run, but they get that run back the next inning. why Hughes was allowed to pitch to the same guy that homered off of him with runners on base is fucking beyond me. of course he hits a 3 run homer. and after the Yankees needed 5 fucking pitchers to get 3 outs in an inning, i turned away in disgust. what a fucking waste. now they have 7 games in a row on the road against the 2 teams on their heels. if they still have the division lead a week from now i'll be stunned.
thankfully, during the Yankee debacle it was another CR7 & Messi Sunday. a total treat to watch 2 of the greatest talents in the world put on another show. CR7 had 2 goals for Real Madrid. Messi was in passing mode but his teammates didn't have the precision dialed up today. Barcelona still won but it was bowling shoe ugly at times. of course, that is the blueprint against them if you want to have a chance.
tonight, i'm hoping it will rain to break the death grip humidity going on. but not hard enough to fuck with my DIRECTV signal. if it does, i guess i'll be working on my 3 fantasy football teams. i know 2 of them are good right from the start. i've already been offered trades. hopefully it's more than just wishful thinking on paper this year.
