my patience with humanity is running thin...

so i ran out of this medication today, but i figured it wouldn't be a problem because my pharmacy was supposed to have the new prescription ready when it was my next time to take it. silly me. a hour after it was supposed to be ready, i called the pharmacy. after being on hold for 20 minutes, i finally got to speak to someone. i explained what was going on and they said they would have it ready in 30 minutes. this is the drug that helps with my pinched nerve in my neck. so, in about 45 minutes, the phone rang saying it was ready. by this point, agony was setting in. i got up to the pharmacy and of course, had to wait in line. and then, of course, they had to find the medicine they just filled. the other one i was picking up had been ready since Saturday. then, of course, on the way home. i was stuck behind a woman going 40 in a 55. then i nearly hit a girl in the cul-de-sac who wasn't paying attention on her bicycle. it just never fails... good times.

i had this amazing conversation last night with this Mexican princess in Colorado. we probably talked until 4 in the morning. why the fuck is it that everyone i click with lives so damn far away?

the New York Yankees won yesterday at Tampa, 7-1. of course, that dump down there had a power outage in the top of the 9th inning. what a joke. the Yankees start a series tonight at home against Baltimore. hopefully they can keep on winning.

here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs yesterday:

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs yesterday:

the series finale of Veep last night was fucking hilarious.

Barry was holy shit great last night. that season finale should be crazy.

Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual.

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice and Desus & Mero. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

there are no NBA playoff games tonight. i do plan on watching the NHL playoff game between the Sharks and Blues tonight.

i am loosely keeping track of what is going on in the hockey world championships going on in Slovakia. team USA has won 2 games in a row now. two drinks for me...

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i think i need to get some writing done in the morning. if that happens, i'll be on here after i get some typing done.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

the weather is still gloomy and cold here. of course, by the end of the week it's supposed to be in the upper 70's. joy.

happy mother's day

happy mother's day to all the mothers in the world, including my own. i hope all of you have an amazing day.

i got up this morning and made breakfast for my mother and sister. i was a little surprised yesterday when my sister volunteered me to do it. no one got sick (so far), so i guess i did a good job.

mom liked what i got her for this day, so that makes me happy.

sadly, Manchester United was playing this morning. they lost to Cardiff 2-0. that sums up this fucking season perfectly. thank god it's over.

the New York Yankees lost last night in Tampa, 7-2. hopefully they will win today to win the series.

ROH was good last night.

Saturday Night Live was pretty funny last night.

My Dad Wrote a Porno was fucking hilarious last night.

the weather is pretty shitty here at the moment. really gloomy and rainy. so, i guess today this will be the house of arthritis.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

testing my patience...

i had to go to the grocery store today to pick up some pills and i knew with what time it was, today was going to be an interesting one. the sun has been out all day, school was in the process of letting out and i had places to go. i wanted to go get a frame for this print i got in the mail today and i wanted to get some lunch. between an old lady at the grocery store pulling out of a parking spot at an inch a minute, motherfuckers using their phones while driving, trucks way too big to be on small roads and clueless motherfuckers not understanding how a fucking turn lane works... it's a damn miracle i made it back home alive. as i told my mother walking in, i guess today was the day people wanted to tempt their fate. yes, there will be poems.

the New York Yankees won a rain shortened game yesterday against the Twins, 4-1. they start a series tonight at home against Seattle.

here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs yesterday:

happy cinco de oh what the hell was that?

i woke up this morning at halftime of the Manchester United game. they were winning 1-0, so i was tempted to not watch the game at all. but, after taking the morning piss and my blood sugar, i decided to watch the second half. silly me to think United would beat a team that has already been relegated. United hit the woodwork a couple times but ultimately couldn't get more than a 1-1 draw at Huddersfield. with Chelsea's 3-0 win today, United is eliminated from having any chance to finish in the top 4 of the Premier League. joy. not sure how they are going to get players to come to a team that will play in the Europa League next season. but honestly, they need o sell off nearly all of the squad and just start the fuck over.

i wrote 3 poems last night. i'll type those up after i get this blog done.

4 years ago today. my father was put into the ground. i have never been to his grave. i have no clue if i ever will go.

thinking about my mortality...

when i saw the news that John Singleton died today, it really hit me. he was just 51. that's only 8 years older than i am. i was in high school when Boyz N the Hood came out. one of those movies that i probably watched a thousand times or so. most of my black friends more or less lived that life. it wasn't necessarily an eye opener for me, but it certainly made me realize the two different worlds in this country. rest in peace John Singleton. you were one of the best storytellers of any generation.

i wrote 2 poems this morning. i had a line pop in my head as soon as i woke up. i haven't done much writing this month. not writer's block per se, just not really in the mood.

speaking of poems, here are your videos for this day of National Poetry Month:

well, i kind of expected it...

i said yesterday that i wouldn't be in a good mood when writing this blog today, and i was right. i got up early this morning, got some shit done, had breakfast and was ready from the start to watch Manchester United vs. Chelsea. United needed all 3 points in this game if they wanted any realistic chance to finish in the top 4. United started strong, scored early (birthday boy Juan Mata) and was really playing well for most of the first half. then the usually reliable but now playing himself off the team, David De Gea, misplayed a shot and Chelsea scored right before halftime, 1-1. both teams played like shit in the second half. Chelsea, who is already in 4th, knew a draw only helps them. there is no fucking excuse for United showing no fucking urgency in the second half. the game finished 1-1. United is still in 6th place. if they would have taken care of business today, they would have been tied for fourth with 2 games to play. oh well. i can't wait to see who wants to leave once they realize their pay is being reduced for not making the Champions League next season.

the New York Yankees won yesterday at San Francisco, 6-4. Gary Sanchez hit his first career grand slam. hopefully, the Yankees can get the sweep this afternoon.

here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs yesterday:

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs yesterday:

ROH was pretty good last night.

i thought the New Orleans Saints had a pretty good draft, especially considering the limited amount of draft picks they had to begin with. they got 5 players that i really think are going to be able to help them this upcoming season.

Earth Day 2019

i really took this day more seriously when i lived on the farm. i always had plans to take one of the meadows down by the water and plant a ton of trees in it. of course, we then moved and that never happened. i'm actually a little pissed at the number of trees the new owners have cut down. and they wonder why the gravel lane washes out so easy. the weather here is really nice today. i was able to turn off the furnace and open some windows. of course, more rain tomorrow.

Easter was pretty good here yesterday. of course, i think we might be eating leftovers for the rest of the week.

the New York Yankees pissed away a 5-0 lead yesterday to the Royals. thankfully, they came back to win, 7-6 in 10 innings. they start a series tonight out west against the Angels.

here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs yesterday:

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs yesterday:

the WWE Network special on The Shield last night was pretty good. i am really going to miss Dean Ambrose.

Motown 60: A Grammy Celebration was good last night, but it could have been so much better.

Veep was great last night.

since we have so many leftovers from yesterday, we didn't go out to eat afterwards.

nothing says Happy Easter like...

as i was going to bed last night, i started hearing about the bombings in Sri Lanka. when i got up this morning, i saw the headline about a river of blood. nothing quite says Happy Easter like a river of blood flowing. while i have given up on religion and nearly everything that comes with it, i still can't quite wrap my head around the zealots who use their religion to kill others.
https://www.nytimes.com/2019/04/21/world/asia/sri-lanka-explosion.html

i got up early this morning to watch Manchester United play at Everton. imagine if the players would have woke up early as well. this was easily United's worst performance of the season. they lost 4-0. next up is Manchester City and i fear the worst with that game. and i honestly think now, there is little chance United will finish in the top 4 of the Premier League. so yeah, this is starting as an Easter i would love to forget as soon as possible.

the New York Yankees won yesterday against the Royals, 9-2. of course, there just had to be another fucking injury for the team. this time, it was Aaron Judge. i haven't heard yet how bad his oblique injury is, but i know those don't heal quickly. oh joy. the Yankees can win the series with a victory this afternoon.

my sister did come down here yesterday. i imagine she'll leave after we eat lunch this afternoon. she's really looking forward to her new job. it sounds like she might even be doing something that will challenge her brain once again.

i'll probably be on here tomorrow after i take mom to her doctor's appointment.

like watching the Mona Lisa burn...

i saw that line on the internet today while people were watching the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris burn. it's a hell of a way for Holy Week to start.

i didn't get to bed last night until 6 this morning. i'm not sure why insomnia is taking over my body. part of me wonders if my circle is nearly complete and my body is simply getting it all out before i die. i didn't have my usual coffee this morning. so, maybe that means i might actually go to bed before the fucking sun comes up.

i had to go to the grocery store today to take some paperwork to the pharmacy for mom. apparently, since the pharmacy fucked up and charged medications to her old insurance, which the old insurance paid for, my mother has a $700 bill from her old insurance that they have turned over to a collection agency. i told mom to fight that tooth and nail since it was never her fault that her old job never updated the insurance company or that the pharmacy was lazy and just billed the first thing that popped up, even after she was on Medicare. and of course, i went up there right as the local high school near the grocery store was letting out. talk about a clusterfuck.

i'll be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays at Barcelona in the Champions League. i would love to think United will pull off another miracle, but my hopes aren't nearly as high as they were against PSG.

a bad back isn't ideal for good sleeping...

i think i finally fell asleep last night around 5:30 this morning, after i wished for death and gave up trying to find a comfortable spot for my back. i got up a little after 11 this morning. the rain had finally stopped. i figure the pain in my back will subside when death finally knocks on my door. joy.

well, might as well start back at yesterday afternoon...

Manchester United did not play well yesterday. thankfully, luck was on their side and they defeated West Ham 2-1.

the New York Yankees held the White Sox to one hit yesterday and won the game, 4-0. hopefully they can win the series this afternoon.

there was 3 OT games yesterday in the NHL playoffs. pure chaos. hopefully more today.

the NBA playoffs yesterday got off to a crazy start. hopefully, more of that today as well.

and i did watch a good portion of the Masters yesterday. and i've been checking that out this morning as well. they had to move up the tee times because of the weather coming. looks like Tiger might pull this off. (edit: holy fuck he did)

Saturday Night Live was pretty good last night.

talk about being drained...

WrestleMania was just under 7 1/2 hours long last night. now, the good thing was it really didn't feel that long. the pace of the show was really good. most of the matches went how i wanted them to go. the best match of the night was Kofi Kingston vs. Daniel Bryan. that will go down as one of the best WrestleMania moments in history. the women's main event was good, although i would have loved to see a conclusive finish. but, i do understand having a little controversy to keep the feud alive. that being said, Becky Lynch winning both titles was the right call. and thank god, Seth Rollins beat Brock Lesnar and now the Universal title will be on Monday Night Raw every week. the Raw after Mania is always crazy, so i can't wait to see what happens tonight.

the New York Yankees whipped Baltimore yesterday, 15-3. the sweep of the Orioles puts them over .500 for the first time since opening day. they start a series tonight in Houston.

Barry was really good last night.

Veep was hilarious last night.

now the cherry on top of a crazy weekend...

today is, at least for me, all about WrestleMania. this is the 35th incarnation of the event and i have seen every one of them. i think the show starts around 5 and will probably end around midnight. i suppose i should have got more than 4 hours of sleep.

last night was a little crazy. between the basketball games, the Yankees game and the WWE Hall of Fame incident involving a fan... let alone the NJPW/ROH show at Madison Square Garden, i think my internet crashed just from exhaustion.

i did see some of both college basketball games last night. it's hard for me to believe the refs in the Auburn vs. Virginia game missed a clear double dribble against Virginia that would have sealed the game for Auburn. instead, Auburn fouls Virginia shooting a last second three (correct call by the way) and the guy made all 3 free throws to win the game for Virginia, 63-62. in the second game, Texas Tech defeated Michigan State, 61-51. i joked last night that in the title game, between two great defensive teams, first one to 40 wins.

some fucking idiot attacked Bret Hart last night while he was giving his speech for the Hart Foundation being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. the feed cut out and it was fucking chaos. kudos to the wrestlers that beat the shit out of the guy. the event was really good, other than that. DX went a little long, but i was laughing most of the time, so i didn't mind it.

the New York Yankees won last night in Baltimore, 6-4. they go for the sweep this afternoon.

the New York Rangers won last night in Pittsburgh, 4-3 in OT. here's hoping the Rangers somehow manage to win the draft lottery.

Saturday Night Live was pretty good last night.

ROH was pretty good last night.

my sister spent the night here last night. they brought me back some brisket from their lunch in town yesterday. it was good. it's nice to have something other than fast food in town now. my sister and i talked a little about her job last night. she had an amazing interview for another job and i think she might get offered something in management at a different company soon. of course, this comes after she got a 4% raise at her current job. i have no doubt she will make the best decision for her.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. it's supposed to be storming tonight and into tomorrow. all i hope is the internet doesn't go out like it did yesterday.
