a rainy Friday...

so, i was coming home from Menards this afternoon. i was about a few miles from home when it started to fucking pour. i laughed to myself, i guess this was why the guy that mows our lawn was out there this morning. at least the Highlander got washed. by the time i got home, it was basically over. just barely a drizzle as i walked down to get the mail. i did find everything i was looking for at Menards.

my nerve pain has been on and off today. the arthritis is still fucking raging from the rain earlier. joy.

i did watch a ton of the NFL game last night. the Chiefs beat the Ravens, 27-20.

Big Brother was good last night. Joseph was evicted. Chelsie is the new HOH.

NJPW was excellent last night.

the Yankees played the Cubs this afternoon. that was part of the reason i went to Menards this afternoon. i was hoping they would play better without me watching. sure enough, the Yankees won today, 3-0.

why i love pro wrestling...

last night, the WWE Royal Rumble went on forever it seemed like. if i had any complaints about the show, that would be the start and end of it. when your main event starts around 11:45 and you have already been watching for nearly 5 hours... lets just say i'm no longer a spring chicken. i thought both rumble matches were good, with Cody Rhodes and Rhea Ripley emerging as your winners. there was way more surprises in the women's rumble this year. i thought the pitch black match was ok, as were the other singles matches. the main event was good, but the story afterwards was the best fucking storytelling WWE has done in decades. to watch Sami Zayn turn on Roman Reigns and the way the crowd popped for it, chef's kiss. the way Jey Uso walked out on his family and everything that could come from that, chef's kiss. and to be honest, a chef's kiss to the crowd last night in San Antonio, Texas for the "Fuck You Roman" chant that was louder than i think anyone expected. when this is the kickoff to the road to WrestleMania, i can't fucking wait for the next few months and what happens.

Saturday Night Live was pretty funny last night.

Austin City Limits had The War on Drugs on last night. that was a fun hour of music.

Manchester United won yesterday against Reading in the FA Cup, 3-1.

the Dayton Flyers destroyed Richmond yesterday, 86-60.

the USMNT and Colombia played a 0-0 draw last night. thank god i didn't watch.

the New York Knicks lost last night at the Nets, 122-115.

here are your NBA highlights from last night:

i finished with a little more money than i started with by last night in my day of gambling. i'm hoping for better results today.

i will be watching both games today in the NFL playoffs. the Eagles play the 49ers first, then the Bengals play at Kansas City. i have the 49ers and Bengals winning today.

i'm sure i will watch some of the FA Cup action today and some college basketball. i did love watching Liverpool getting knocked out of the FA Cup this morning.

i have no clue when i will be on here on Monday.

i'm currently running on 3 1/2 hours of sleep, so i will probably get a nap in before the football games. or at least i fucking hope i do.

tired of the rain...

it has basically rained all fucking day. these are the days where i wish i had a morphine drip installed in my room. fuck me.

so, i did go out today. Big Lots had nothing that i was looking for. the only thing i got accomplished with that drive was the rain at least washed the Highlander. i then had go to Rite Aid to get more gauze pads and adhesive wraps for my mother. her cuts aren't healing as fast as she would like. i remind her that that isn't how it works in old age. i did get some football cards while i was there. this box wasn't as good as the last one i got, but still had more worth in it than what i paid for it.

i did watch the ending of the NFL game last night between the Packers and Cardinals. holy shit, that was nuts.

here are your highlights from the NBA last night:

Young Sheldon was good last night.

United States of Al was pretty good last night.

B Positive was very funny last night.

Cake was weird as usual last night.

Desus & Mero was fucking great last night.

the season finale of What We Do in the Shadows last night was great, no matter what the fucking critics think of it.

the season finale of Dark Side of the Ring was about the steroid trial of the early 90's.

total exhaustion...

so, i went to bed a little before 6 this morning. i have to do that every once in a while to completely reset my brain. if i don't fucking exhaust it, it never shuts off. now, a regular human would sleep to noon or something. i was up at 9. but, 3 solid hours is about all i can do these days. good times.

yesterday was a pretty good day for me when it came to sports. first up will be the New Orleans Saints. i was hoping they would bounce back against the Patriots, but i knew it wasn't going to be easy. silly me. i was really shocked the Patriots allowed the Saints to run the ball all game long. hell, if i was Sean Payton, i'm not sure if i would have called a damn pass in the game at all. the Saints defense played great and they won the turnover battle. that is always a recipe to win. the Saints won, 28-13.

the Yankees pulled off some late inning magic once again and swept the Red Sox last night, 6-3. that puts them in first place for the American League wild card. if they win out, they will host the wild card game. now, they have the toughest schedule left with 3 games at Toronto and 3 games at home against Tampa. the Toronto series starts tomorrow night.

Big Brother was good last night. i will be shocked if Xavier doesn't win it all.

Billions was great last night. season finale is next week.

American Rust was really good last night.

the season finale of Power Book III: Raising Kanan was excellent last night.

BMF was really good last night. it looks like it should be a good show.

Scenes From a Marriage was good last night.

Last Week Tonight was fucking brilliant as usual.

so, WWE Extreme Rules was pretty good last night. to be honest, the main event probably saved it from me hating it. the audio issues with Peacock last night were pissing me the fuck off. as well as the fucking commercials they put into the event. and i know this wasn't the WWE doing it, since none of the commercials were for their products.

i did listen to episode 362 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find that by going here:

i might watch some of the NFL game tonight between the Cowboys and Eagles.

i had to do some work in the garage today. i got all the bird food and the containers into trash bags. now, i need to go to Menard's and get all new shit.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. judging from my underwear drawer, i might need to do some laundry here soon.

showers at 2 in the morning...

i took a shower last night at two in the morning. i really needed one, and i was hoping i could get the water warm enough to dull the ache in my bones last night. thankfully, i did get it warm enough that i did feel a little less pain. of course, i didn't get to sleep until almost 5 and i was up this morning at 8:45. good times.

Smackdown and 205 Live were both really good last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was hilarious last night.

i will probably watch most of both NFL playoff games today. first game is the Rams vs. Packers and then the Ravens vs. Bills. hopefully, both games will be good.

i will hopefully be on here tomorrow before Manchester United plays at Liverpool.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against the Islanders. they can't play any worse than they did in the previous game, so i'm hoping to see a victory, let alone, a much better effort.

welcome to the weekend...

i have been pretty busy today. i know when i don't eat lunch until 5 PM, it's been a long day.

i went to the post office to mail off the baseball cards i sold. that went pretty easy. after that, i had to go my mother's bank to make a deposit and get money out of her account. of course, since i'm not on her account, i couldn't do it the way she thought i could. thankfully, she gave me her ATM card, so i was able to get the money out that way. then, i had to drive 20 minutes in the other direction to go to my bank to make a deposit. after that, i went to Meijer to see if i could find some baseball cards and some other things mom needed. i did find some cards, more on that in a bit. i also got some hand soap that my mother loves and a paring knife. after that, i went to Kroger to get the stuff mom forgot to put on the grocery list. amazingly, i also found some toilet paper while i was there. there was none at Meijer earlier.

i got a hanger box of Topps Gallery 2020 and a hanger box of Bowman Platinum 2020 at Meijer. i got some really good cards in both, including another Luis Robert rookie card (Bowman Platinum). all in all, i think i probably made another good investment. then, this afternoon, i was on the Panini site looking at cards and found an Obi Toppin rookie card for $9.99. i jumped all over that. so yeah, i'm feeling pretty good about what i got done today.

NXT UK was really fucking good last night.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows. they are off until after Thanksgiving.

Young Sheldon was pretty good last night.

B Positive was hilarious last night.

The Unicorn was very funny last night.

Cari & Jemele (Won't) Stick to Sports was excellent last night.

Miz & Mrs was very good last night.

the start of the college basketball season...

i am really looking forward to the game tonight between Dayton and Ball State. i believe the game is a sell out, so it should be an amazing atmosphere. Ball State is a pretty veteran team, so it wouldn't shock me, given Dayton's youth, that Ball State leads for a good portion of the game. i'm hoping that Dayton can pull out a victory, but it will take some healthy contributions from the kids for that to happen.

The Chris Gethard Show was very good last night. the subject of the show was something i have dealt with my entire life, failure. as someone who was never allowed to fail as a child, it's been one of the hardest things to deal with as an adult. imagine dealing with that and being a poet as well. good times.

Fuck, That's Delicious Classics was excellent last night.

Better Things was very good last night.

Gotham was great last night.

The Big Bang Theory was very funny last night.

Young Sheldon was very good last night.

Life in Pieces was hilarious last night.

it was 22 degrees when i went out to get the paper this morning. that was a nice shock to the system as all i had on was a t-shirt, shorts and some slippers. thank god i turned up the furnace last night. i actually got some decent sleep. of course, when i woke up this morning, the bags under my eyes looked like i had maybe two hours of sleep or less. good times.

i'm going to try to be on here tomorrow before Ohio State plays Michigan State.

this cold weather does quite a number on my back. i'll be in my massage chair for the next hour or so.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. take it easy and then take it again.

back in first place

Brett Gardner led off the Yankees game last night the same way he ended the game the night before, with a home run. the Yankees are undefeated this season in games that he hits a homer in. that streak continued last night against Tampa. the Yankees also got home runs from Judge and a fucking bomb from Clint Frazier. but the story of the night was the pitching from Masahiro Tanaka. he struck out 14 last night, to set a new career high. plus, he retired the first 17 batters of the game. all of that added up to New York winning 6-1. toss in Boston losing last night and now the Yankees are back in first place in the division. hopefully the good times will continue this afternoon.

NJPW was a rerun last night. i'm not quite sure why the DVR recorded it.

VICE was very good last night. i'm still amazed at the number of people who want to rape this earth until there is nothing left.

Room 104 last night was very interesting. the show was very dark. i can see why some people didn't like it as the humor was very dark as well. thank god i'm an asshole and enjoy that shit.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH.

amazingly, it's not supposed to rain this weekend. it might even be fucking pleasant. at least as pleasant as the weather can be for late July. i'll probably get out and fill the bird feeders at some point this weekend. if i get a wild hair up my ass, i might even do a little photography.

other than the little shopping trip with mom later this morning, i think this weekend is just going to be relaxing and catching up on sleep. that pretty much means i'll do nothing but write, watch sports and laugh at Big Brother After Dark.

i will probably be on here tomorrow before Manchester United plays in Norway.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday, even those of you on the other side of my political views.

one of those days where the pain never goes away

there are mornings where i just wish i could stay in bed and never wake up. and by never, i mean never. just enough rain to get my arthritis raging... a pain that has lasted with me all day. that means the fingers don't work that well. and of course, that's not an option when you have to be someone's caretaker. so today has been one of those days where frustration has me right at the boiling point and i'm going to fucking snap before too long... good times.

the New York Yankees pissed away a winnable game yesterday, 3-2, against Toronto. they are off tonight and start a series at home tomorrow against Boston.

i ended up watching more of that Ariana Grande concert from Manchester yesterday than i thought i was going to. i thought it was a pretty good fuck you to the terrorists. go back to the same city and have an even bigger, better show. sort of a middle finger to those ignorant fucks.

WWE Extreme Rules last night was sort of a blah show, up until the ending. i could see the title changes coming a mile away. but, the main event had 5 different guys that could have won. and when Samoa Joe did win, i was so damn happy. that sets up the dream match between Samoa Joe and Brock Lesnar. i can't wait for that to happen.

Silicon Valley was very good last night.

Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual.

Twin Peaks: The Return was another glorious mindfuck last night.

I'm Dying Up Here started off a little slow for me but by the end of the episode i definitely wanted to see more.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, If You're Not in the Obit, Eat Breakfast and the season finale of Gotham.

i will be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final is tonight. i might check out some of that, especially if Pittsburgh is losing.

i still have dishes to do today. that will be fun since it hurts to stand at the moment. nothing quite like having your legs feel like they are going to snap from arthritis. i guess sometime before i die i'll get a dishwasher for this house. most likely a machine, not a human.

the "FREE" t-shirt i paid for months ago finally arrived today in the mail. i can't bitch about getting a good fitting shirt for only $1.95. of course, i was smart enough to cancel the membership that would have cost me another $90.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. of course, the sooner humans go extinct, the better all of our weekends will be.

i remember when the rain used to put me to sleep...

when i woke up this morning in pain, i figured it had to be raining. sure enough. i can't ever remember a May that has started off with this much rain.

i wasn't expecting much from the New York Yankees last night, given the 18 innings they played the night before. but, much like they have for most of the season, they struck early and often and beat the Reds last night 10-4. they will go for a nice 5-0 road trip tonight. it's the first time in 14 years the Yankees have had the best record in the majors after 30 games.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night, even though the main event was a bit of a stinker for me.

Gotham was really fucking good last night.

The Voice was really good last night. i have no damn clue which two are going to leave tonight.

i did a little poetry work today. added 13 poems to my next round of submissions. i believe that brings the total to 23. i will probably get those out in the next 48 hours.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice, Deadliest Catch and Smackdown. i'll watch 205 Live on WWE Network sometime tonight.

i'll be watching the New York Rangers try to force a Game 7 for most of the evening. i'm not really ready for the hockey season to be over, so i'm hoping that the Rangers play like they are capable of playing tonight. i wouldn't mind a repeat of Game 3 or 4 quite frankly. two other series have been forced to a Game 7, might as well make it three.

i did listen to the latest Jim Norton & Sam Roberts podcast today. i highly recommend it. you can find it by going here: https://soundcloud.com/jimandsamshow/ep-025-robert-oneill

the joy of arthritis

it's just so fucking great to have arthritis really bad in both of my hands and have a computer mouse that has a quick trigger. it's an easy way to get really fucking frustrated quickly. highly recommended if you need a reason to drink or murder.

i was really disappointed with the New York Rangers last night. they started out passive once again, thinking that all they need to do is show up for good things to happen for them on the ice. thank god The King was on fire in the net for the Rangers. he had 21 damn saves in the first period alone. the Rangers got their act together at the start of the second and scored first. sadly, they once again didn't keep their foot on the gas and Ottawa scored to even the game going into the 3rd period. i wasn't in love with the officiating last night and i certainly wasn't in love with the icing that didn't get called on what ended up being the winning goal for Ottawa. the Rangers lost 2-1 and pissed away a game where their goalie was easily the best player on the ice. now, most people believe that was the best Ottawa could play and it's painfully obvious the Rangers can play much, MUCH better. hopefully that happens in Game 2 on Saturday.

the New York Yankees got a great game last night from Tanaka (97 pitches to throw a complete game 3 hit shutout) and just enough offense to beat Chris Sale and Boston 3-0. they start a series back at home tonight against Baltimore.

i was pleased with what the New Orleans Saints did last night in the draft. they had the best cornerback in the draft fall in their laps at #11 and went with their best player available at #32. hopefully they use the rest of the picks in the draft to continue to bolster the shitty defense and maybe get a nice new toy for the offense.

The Big Bang Theory was really funny last night.

Life in Pieces was fucking hilarious once again last night.

Lip Sync Battle was an instant classic last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, VICE, NJPW and Real Time with Bill Maher.

rounds 2 and 3 of the NFL Draft are tonight as well as some playoff hockey. i'll probably catch bits and pieces of all of that and the baseball game.

i think my mother is doing better. i wish she was a little more aware at times. i've had a bad back for so damn long now, i'm really cognizant of each move and taking my time. sadly, she isn't. so, watching her almost fall because she doesn't realize where she's sitting on the bed is a little hard for me. and of course, since i was raised by assholes, i usually will have an asshole response, i suppose that's how genetics works.

congrats to former Dayton signee McKinley Wright on choosing Colorado as his new college. i hope you enjoy the weed and the middle of the PAC 12 instead of actually winning a conference like you could have at Dayton. this was my fear of Dayton picking an older coach who looks at the job as a destination. it's not. that's why i loved having a young coach who is hungry to earn his way out of Dayton. you can only do that by winning and doing so on the national stage. instead, the young AD listened to all the old fucks who think that Dayton is just as good nationally as Xavier, Butler and Gonzaga. now, i really hope i am wrong about Anthony Grant and what he will be able to do at Dayton. and i also don't want to be the asshole laughing when an alumni has to be fired from the program. all that being said, the program still doesn't have a fucking point guard. i still know enough about basketball that you have to have a good point guard if you even want to dream about winning games. sadly, the blue hairs that love this program to death only care that one of their own is now running the show.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. i will try to be on here before the Rangers play in the afternoon tomorrow.
