nice of them to issue the flood watch the day before...

when i saw this morning that the national weather service issued a flood watch for tomorrow, i knew they are expecting some holy shit rain to happen. i'm sure it's a case of being safe rather than sorry, or at least i hope it is.

i just watched the USA women's soccer team get knocked out of the Olympics by Sweden in penalty kicks. all i saw of the game was the penalty kicks as i completely forgot the game was on at noon today. oh well, it should be interesting to see what happens to the team now. not a good sign for the first tournament after the heart and soul of your team retires.

the New York Yankees came from behind to win 4-2 last night up in Boston. they took 2 out of 3 in the series, which i think says more about Boston than New York. the amazing thing is the Yankees are now just 3.5 games behind in the wild card race. tonight is A-Rod's last game as a Yankee. they start a series at home against Tampa tonight. it's a bit of a nostalgia weekend as tomorrow the 1996 World Series team will be honored. on Sunday, Mariano Rivera will get his plaque in Monument Park. hard to believe it's been 20 damn years since Charlie Hayes caught that popup.

Big Brother had the chance to be really exciting last night, and then like most of this season, it fizzled. but, after the double eviction that really didn't do much, Victor won HOH again. his plan (really Paul's plan) is to put up Corey and Paulie for eviction. that should do the trick for setting the house on fire.

Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll was excellent last night. i'm so happy none of my former girlfriends ever owned a chainsaw.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Cypress Hill: Live from Austin.

i did listen to the latest episode of Seton Calling today. a great interview with Horatio Sanz. you can check it out by going here:
http://setoncalling.libsyn.com/episode-11-horatio-sanz

i will probably watch the USA men's basketball game against Serbia later today.

i finally shaved off most of my beard yesterday. i still have the long goatee but the rest of it hadn't been shaved in over a month. not exactly comfortable in 90+ heat. but, i did nearly pass out in the shower yesterday. all i could think of as i was drying off was if i fall, how long am i actually going to be down there? mom can't help me up. no one in this pseudo retirement community can help me up. so i toughed it out and made it to the fan in my room. good times.

not sure when i'll be on here over the weekend. Manchester United starts their Premier League season on Sunday. the Yankees play day games on both Saturday and Sunday. i'll shoot for the mornings and hopefully you'll live with getting it in the afternoons.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. take it easy and then take it again.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

lucky once again

well, it looks like all the bad storms either went to the south of us or got bad after they went through us. we got some rain and wind, but nothing like they got in other places of the area. of course, it felt like it was nearly 100 degrees today, so i'm waiting for a pop up thunderstorm to hit at any minute. it was thundering when i woke up this morning. i didn't bother going back to sleep.

Copa America Update:
Chile defeated Columbia 2-0 in a rainy mess last night. so, the 3rd place game on Saturday will be Colombia vs. USA and the finals on Sunday will be Chile vs. Argentina. both matches should be really interesting.

Euro 2016 Update:
Hungary and Portugal played to a very entertaining 3-3 draw yesterday. Iceland got a goal at the death to stun Austria 2-1. Ireland had a massive upset of Italy 1-0 yesterday and Belgium defeated Sweden 1-0. so the final 16 are set. and there are some juicy matches in the next round. here is the bracket:
that right side of the bracket is fucking loaded, especially when Italy will play Spain and the winner is only in the quarterfinals. the knockout rounds should be very entertaining.

the New York Yankees came from behind yesterday and got a walk off homer from Starlin Castro to beat Colorado 9-8. that victory beer came out of nowhere. they are off tonight and start a series at home against the Twins tomorrow night.

Lucha Underground was really good last night. NXT also was very good.

Any Given Wednesday with Bill Simmons was interesting last night, mostly for how much Ben Affleck is up Tom Brady's ass.

Big Brother was pretty much what i thought it would be. some hot girls, some douchebag guys, 4 returners that i never liked to begin with and surprises that only make the show worse. but, i truly enjoy people getting on other people's nerves, and that is why the show is so good. i have no clue who is going home tonight. i know it's not who i was hoping for.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be WWE Smackdown, Lip Sync Battle and Big Brother.

i figure i will watch some of the NBA Draft tonight. i'm sure the Sacramento Kings will manage to fuck up their lottery pick somehow. i'd love if Dyshawn Pierre got drafted tonight, but that's not likely.

i wrote 5 poems between last night and this morning. i typed them up this afternoon. i really like all of them. i think i'm just going to stockpile for now and be prepared to flood the market after my 4 day journey to Cleveland.

i did catch up on some podcasts today. i listened to Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast this morning. it was excellent as usual.
you can check it out by going here: http://notsam.com/wrestlingpodcast/2016/6/22/wrestling-podcast-87-mick-noelle-foley

i also listened to episode 9 of Seton's Calling this afternoon. you can check that out by going here:
http://setoncalling.libsyn.com/episode-9-bryan-kienlen-of-the-bouncing-souls

that's all for me today kids. i hope this finds you relaxing in the some cool air conditioning. it's fucking hot as hell here right now. nothing like a feels like of 95.

one step forward and two giant leaps behind

it feels like it is early March outside this morning. considering the "experts" are saying we might have some spotty frost overnight, this is going to be one of those bizarro days it seems.

the New York Yankees were facing one of the best pitchers in the majors last night. it showed. i think i quit watching the game somewhere around the 3rd inning. i didn't miss anything. the Yankees lost 7-1. they also had another injury last night. to say this team is fragile is an understatement. hopefully they will get back to winning this afternoon.

i did watch some of the Tampa Bay vs. Pittsburgh game last night. as soon as i saw Ryan Callahan (former Rangers captain) destroy Kris Letang on a vicious hit early in the first period, i smiled. i love a series where the hatred starts early. that means the longer the series goes, the more physical it will be. i don't believe Pittsburgh can win that type of game. last night was good evidence. Tampa lost their starting goalie and still won the game 3-1.

other than that last night, mom caught up on the last 3 Lip Sync Battles she's missed. she's not good at using the DVR, so i watched them again with her. good son, i know.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH and Saturday Night Live.

i listened to the latest edition of Seton Calling this morning. excellent interview with Jamey Jasta. highly recommend it. you can check it out by going here:

i've got some poems swimming around my head, so with it supposed to be rainy on and off all day today, i figure i'll spend a good portion of the day writing.

i picked up some excellent FREE music at NoiseTrade this morning. i'll post the link below in the music section.

i'll be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays. i'll know if they are going to finish in the Top 4 or not, so i'll be either very happy or venting tomorrow afternoon.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

sometimes you just become numb

i have been a Dayton Flyers fan since i was a child. i remember living and dying with every shot in 1984 when they made their miracle run to the Elite 8. eventually, i became a season ticket holder. and when you are an avid fan, you read everything, you check the latest news, the rumors, etc. 20 years ago, i remember getting the news about Chris Daniels. i was in a work van at the airport and i started to cry. a young man just starting to realize his potential and dies. enlarged heart. i still have moments where i wonder just how far Chris could have gone, NBA, Europe... such a shame he never got to find out. so this afternoon i was just getting online and saw a news report about a UD player dying. my first thought was what the fuck. and then i clicked and was crying immediately. Big Steve. 20 years old. reportedly collapsed at his parents home in Indiana and died. they believe an enlarged heart is the cause of death. here's a guy who busted his ass to get in better shape, always had a smile on his face and just finished a season where he set the record for blocked shots for the team in a season. i so wanted to not believe this story. then i saw the university confirmed it and i am completely fucking devastated. my thoughts and prayers go out to his family, his teammates, his friends and the endless number of kids he made smile. rest in peace Steve. your memory will never fade.

i woke up this morning before 5 AM. i couldn't fall back asleep for anything. i knew i had to drive mom this morning to the next town over so a co-worker could drive her to a meeting in Middletown. i might have got 20 minutes of nap time when i got back home. i figured i would go out and feed the birds before the storms hit. it figures, they haven't come yet. and now mom is back home.

the New York Yankees fell behind early last night and never really got back into the game. they lost 7-3 to Kansas City. they need to win tonight to win the series. splitting the series after winning the first two will feel like a loss to me.

Game 7 last night between the Blues and Stars was a blowout. St. Louis won 6-1 on the road to advance to their first conference final in 15 years.

Lucha Underground was good last night. NXT was good last night. i really enjoyed Table for 3 as well on WWE Network.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be the season finale of The Big Bang Theory, WWE Smackdown and Lip Sync Battle.

i did listen to the latest episode of Seton Calling this afternoon. i always like finding bands i haven't heard of.

one of those days where you get so lonely it feels natural

i suppose that's the problem with always being a loner. you get so damn lonely at times that you don't even recognize it. and i've lived long enough to know complaining gets you nowhere. i have no clue where all this shit came from today, although today is 1 year since my father's funeral. i fully expect that fucker to haunt me until the day i die. none of us will be lucky enough for that to happen soon though.

breaking news... the New York Yankees got some great pitching last night and timely hitting as well and HOLY SHIT, they won 7-0. finally. that stops the losing streak and more importantly, allowed me to drink. hopefully tonight they can start a winning streak, a totally fucking radical concept this season.

i thought NXT was pretty good last night. it's going to take me a while to get used to all these guys that used to work in TNA now being in NXT.

Lucha Underground last night was awesome. a No Mas match between 2 women that ends up with blood and as much brutality as men would do was fucking amazing to watch. hats off to Sexy Star and Mariposa for an instant classic.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Big Bang Theory, WWE Smackdown and Lip Sync Battle.

i listened to the latest episode of Seton Calling this morning. i really enjoyed the episode, especially since i am one of those Star Wars nerds. you can check out the episode by going here:

my uncle is out of the hospital. i guess they are having something over the weekend for Mother's Day that mom is invited to. so i guess it will be another weekend indoors for me. i'm really not in the mood to see the cousin that molested me.

i do need to get my creative cap on and make up a card for Mother's Day. i believe mom likes it when i get creative with the word fuck in her cards.

i did watch what the Cleveland Cavaliers did last night. un-fucking-believable.

i also watched some playoff hockey last night. i will laugh my ass off if Washington bows out once again before even making the conference finals.

i've been achy all damn day. the pills aren't working, coffee didn't work. the massage chair didn't work. so, there must be some weather coming or is near that is really fucking with me. it's the kind of aches where you would love to crawl in bed and just die.

good times.

if the Yankees win tonight, i believe i will be turning to hard liquor this evening.

i hope everyone is feeling better than i am. it's not that high of a bar to get to.

a day in the rain

so i got up early this morning and got some shit together to take to this shredding event AAA was having. mom got some stuff together and we went up there. by the time we got there, there was a long ass line and basically chaos. then a lady came up to the car and said they wouldn't take anymore but give us your name and number and here's 10% off at the AAA garage and service center. good thing we had the car serviced yesterday was the first thing i thought. so we drove away and since we were out, mom decided she wanted to go shopping. more on that later...

for National Poetry Month, i give you:

i hope you have enjoyed the videos i've posted for National Poetry Month. hopefully i have exposed you to some poets that you didn't know.

i am a very superstitious person. i have noticed over the last few years that anytime i would get some beer from the grocery store, whatever team of mine playing that night would lose. so, yesterday, i didn't get any. and sure enough, there was the New York Yankees winning 2-0 late in the game yesterday against Boston. suddenly, the wheels came off the tracks and fuck me, the Yankees lost 4-2. well, so much for that superstition. the offense fucking stinks this year. and i know exactly what will happen. once it starts to click the pitching will go to shit. that's a good sign that it's going to be a long ass year. they play again tonight in Boston, i almost give a shit.

the New Orleans Saints made me very happy with their two picks last night in the NFL Draft.
i can't wait to watch both of them next season. hopefully they both will have great rookie seasons.

Ohio State did set the record for most players drafted in the first 3 rounds. it's amazing to look back and see just how talented that team has been for the last 4 years. hopefully it will continue.

VICE was pretty fucking disturbing last night. the Iran footage was really good. i am amused with the ignorance the American people have about Iran and why they hate us. the scenes from India were truly fucking amazing. i really hope people get the chance to see this episode.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony on HBO.

i caught up on some podcasts this morning. episode #5 of Seton Calling with Beach Slang. a very interesting episode, given current events with the band. you can check it out here:

also, Sam Roberts' Show #27 with Jensen Karp. if you'd like to laugh your ass off for over 60 minutes, give it a listen.

so first mom and i went to Hobby Lobby. little did we know, they were having a sale. so we were in there entirely too long, but i finally got the frames for the hockey autographs i have. those are now up on the wall. i also got some fake flowers. i've decided that's what i'm going to put in the bottles of alcohol i finish off. then we went to lunch. after that, she wanted to go to Target. she found what she was looking for and i was busy looking at this one girl that works there that maybe was 18. if she was younger than that, my brain should be arrested. mind you, it was raining the entire time we were out. so by the time we were walking around in Target, my arthritis was absolutely fucking killing me.

when we got home, i got the mail and the first batch of packages coming from my recent purchase at Amazon.com showed up. you'll see that listed in the music section.

i recorded ROH while we were out. thankfully the rain wasn't bad enough to fuck up the satellite feed. i watched that this afternoon. excellent as always.

hopefully all this rain does the grass some good.

i'll be on here tomorrow sometime after Manchester United plays. hopefully, i will be in a good mood. if i'm not, i won't be pissy for long since Sunday night will be full of wrestling and Penny Dreadful returning to my television.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday night. call if you need bail money.

random thoughts while stuck behind an old person driving 30 in a 50 mph zone

i wrote 2 poems yesterday afternoon, more or less about the evil inside of me. so when i was stuck behind this old lady while driving to pick up my mother at the rental car place, i started to laugh. sure, i was tempted to run her off the road. sure, i was looking for a spot to pass her. but i did nothing, i just followed. now, when she turned to get on the highway, i did say i hope you die in the accident you're getting ready to cause, but it was more in that loving sense where i hope she doesn't feel any pain. ok, i'm not buying that either.

for National Poetry Month, i give you:

i was elated to see that Bruce Springsteen made his cover of Purple Rain by Prince a FREE download. you know i got that as soon as i possibly could. here is a link to it:
http://assets.nugs.edgesuite.net/free/bs160423d1_01_Purple_Rain.mp3

i really enjoyed The Voice last night. i really have no clue who is getting voted off tonight.

i was relieved to see Gotham was a rerun last night. i was tired as hell when i started to watch it.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good. i was excited to watch Anderson and Gallows finally wrestle. i'm really happy that Karl Anderson has finally fulfilled his dream of getting to the WWE. i'm really interested to see what happens at the ppv this Sunday. it should be a great one.

the New York Yankees got some great pitching last night and a few big hits that were just enough to win 3-1. that's a good way to start a long road trip. they play again tonight in Texas.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice and Deadliest Catch.

i'm not sure if it's going to storm here tonight or not. my bones tell me yes, but the radar says something else. good times.

i do need to pickup all the trash though. we've already done next door, mostly because i don't think my mother nor i wanted to do that in the rain.

i listened to the latest edition of Seton Calling this morning. you can find it by going here:

i may do another round of poetry submissions tomorrow, just so i feel like i have had an active National Poetry Month. i do think with the 7 poems i have written in the last 2 days, i should have plenty of options.

that's all for me kids, i have trash to pick up.

who knew restless dreams are actually inspiration

i couldn't sleep worth a shit last night. tossing and turning... even the thought of masturbation didn't help. i started reading some poems and got some ideas... and what you have seen from me today is what came from those restless dreams. of course, i'd much rather not to have to resort to this again, but oh well. on with the show.

for National Poetry Month, i give you:

Gotham was fucking amazing last night. i think we're getting to the really good shit now.

The Voice was really, really good last night. a few of the performances were truly awesome. i have no damn clue who is getting the boot tonight. all of them have enough talent to make it one way or another in the music business.

Monday Night Raw wasn't as good as the week before, but it was still good. it looks like Jericho and Ambrose are going to feud. and Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, which i guess are going to feud with each other until death, are set to face off at the next ppv. my favorite part of the show had to be Roman Reigns getting jumped by Anderson and Gallows. that certainly put a smile on my face.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice, Deadliest Catch and the season finale of Total Divas.

the New York Rangers play Game 3 of their series with the Penguins tonight at MSG. hopefully the boys can win and get the 2-1 advantage in the series.

the New York Yankees play tonight against Oakland. i'd love to see them get a win tonight as well.

i listened to a great podcast last night. Seton Calling. you can check out the interview with Zach Blair on the right hand side of this blog or by going here:

time for the first sunburn of the year

today was 70 and not really humid outside. as close to paradise as i ever expect to get to.

for National Poetry Month, i give you:

today has been a busy one for me regarding poetry. i wrote 6 poems while in the waiting room of my mother's physical therapy appointment. i typed those up this evening and i really like a few of them. also, i sent out 6 poems today. 3 each to Full of Crow and Dead Snakes. when i hear back from these places i will pass along the verdict.

mom said the physical therapist was really pleased at how well she did today. i told her it had to be the stress of her taxes and work. she agreed.

we went out to eat and then to Menards after her appointment. i had to get some more food for the birds.

i really enjoyed WWE Smackdown last night. with how deep the roster is right now, it should be difficult for them to put out a bad product.

Lip Sync Battle was ridiculous last night.

the New York Yankees pissed away the lead last night and lost at Toronto, 4-2. they are basically doing the same thing tonight at home against Seattle. good times.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NJPW and VICE.

i listened to a great new podcast today called Seton Calling. it's done by Seton O'Connor from the Dan Patrick Show. it's a great mix of music and some shit other than sports. i highly recommend it. you should be able to find it on the right hand side of this blog and by going to here:
http://setoncalling.com/

with the insane sports schedule tomorrow (Manchester United in the morning, right into the Yankees game in the afternoon, which will go right into the New York Rangers playoff game) i will probably be back on here sometime tomorrow afternoon or early evening. hopefully i will be drunk.

i hope everyone has a great weekend and hopefully you have some great weather to actually enjoy.
