i sat down last night, as it was raining, and started writing. i only had one line in my head, so i was interested to see where i would end up going. now, all the crutches were still there, dead father, neon, broken anything..., but i had a nice outburst. i got 4 poems written and typed up. i figure if i can do that a few nights each week for the next month or so, i should be able to have plenty to choose from again.
here are the 3 videos for this final day of national poetry month:
the New York Yankees lost last night at Baltimore, 2-0. hopefully, they will win tonight.

most of the time with my bad back, a little ice and a nap will do the trick. and of course, on the day i need to be on the go and ready, my bad back has decided it wants to be an attention whore. fucking great.
so, the New York Rangers pissed away a 2 goal lead yesterday and lost to Detroit, 3-2 in OT.
The Masked Singer was crazy last night, as usual.
Last Week Tonight was BRILLIANT once again.
The White Lotus was excellent last night.
Let The Right One In was great last night.
here are your NBA highlights from last night:

i'm hoping i will feel better after i take a shower. if i do, i will be going to the Dayton Flyers game tonight at home against Lindenwood. i think Dayton is favored to win by 32.
the New Orleans Saints play at home tonight against Baltimore.
the New York Knicks play tonight at Minnesota.
i did listen to episode 420 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can hear that by going here:
the New York Rangers lost last night to the Lightning, 3-1. it basically all goes down to experience at this point. the Rangers haven't got to that stage where they know that they have to take it from the Lightning and not just expect talent to win it for them. will always beats skill. and unfortunately, the Rangers haven't learned that yet. now, i still hope they can find a way to win Game 6 down there on Saturday night and force yet another Game 7. but that is only coming from the small section of my heart that hasn't been fucking crushed over the years. the rest of me knows that there is a 99.999999% chance this series will be over on Saturday night.
the New York Yankees were down 7-3 at one point last night. Gerrit Cole had given up 5 fucking home runs and the Twins thought they were going to win. apparently, they had forgotten they are the fucking Twins. the Yankees scored 7 straight runs over the next few innings and won the game, 10-7. the Yankees start a series at home tonight against the Cubs.
Vice News Tonight had two great shows this week.
NJPW was really good last night.
Desus & Mero was hilarious last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown, AEW Rampage, Real Time with Bill Maher and Pause with Sam Jay. i'll watch NXT Level Up sometime tonight on Peacock.

Game 4 of the NBA Finals is tonight.
a big thank you to everyone for checking out my latest published poems:

it has been a sunny morning, slowly warming up.
The Voice was really good last night. i have no clue which 2 are going home tonight.
That's My Jam was mindless and funny last night.
Monday Night Raw was good last night.

mom has a physical therapy appointment this afternoon. i will probably write some poems while that is going on. i just have no clue if i will get to wait inside or outside in the Highlander.
i will probably be on here tomorrow before i go grocery shopping.

and your whatever the fuck i wanted you to see video of the day:
before i get to some pretty depressing news, a little about the basketball game i went to last night.
the Dayton Flyers defeated UIC 64-54. now, when Dayton was trailing by 7 at halftime, i was hoping for the best in the second half. midway through the second half, Dayton was down by 9. i credit Daron Holmes II for getting more active on defense and getting the crowd involved. and once the crowd got involved, it was like a hurricane just hit the place. the roars never ended and Dayton went on a 19-0 run. i have missed that sound for so damn long now. it nearly brought tears to my eyes. Dayton is incredibly young this season. i feel like most of these games are going to be tales of youth and learning experiences. thankfully, they survived the first one.
NXT was pretty good last night.
The Voice was good last night. none of my favorites got eliminated, so i'm happy.

so, the first part of my grocery shopping today was fine. and then i got to Kroger. i got everything that was left on the list and got in line to checkout. as i was getting my things on the belt, the scale at the register broke. i started putting my things back into my cart and the cashier looked at me and jokingly said it is all my fault. i shook my head yes and then it dawned on me. i only have these kind of days because i talked myself out of killing myself when i was 8 years old. it is painfully obvious that i have peaked already in my life and now i am simply running out the clock. now, i know this is the depression talking, or a bruised ego or better yet, a broken soul. i'm not sure how much longer i can take all of this. and i truly want to believe, a good night of sleep will snap me out of this. but the more i think of just how fucking elusive that is, the more i believe i will be doing my best Dylan Thomas impersonation very soon. a few of you probably know exactly what i meant by that. for those of you that don't, you need to widen your third eye very soon.
i did get some baseball cards today at Rite Aid. i paid $5 for the box. there was about $10 worth of cards in it.
i should be on here sometime tomorrow in the afternoon. i'm not sure if mom is going to send me to Meijer to look for some things or not.

so i woke up right before we got a little rain and thunder this morning. i took my blood sugar and then went outside to get the newspaper. i came back in and the garage door wouldn't shut. i made sure nothing was in its way, or misaligned, etc.etc... still no luck. mom called the service number and they told her they couldn't get anyone out here until tomorrow. so, i manually shut the damn thing. i don't think i have anywhere to go today anyway.
AEW was great last night.
Big Brother was good last night. Brent has to be the dumbest player to ever be on Big Brother. i can't wait for him to be evicted tonight.
the Yankees won last night down in Tampa, 3-1. they also made a huge trade yesterday, getting Joey Gallo from the Texas Rangers. it's not official yet, but a huge lefty bat is exactly what this team has needed all season. hopefully the Yankees will get the sweep of the Rays this afternoon.
enjoy some music:

i will probably watch a little of the NBA Draft tonight as well.

i tried the AC in the Highlander today and it was more or less just moving around hot air. so, as my father taught me as a child, windows down and drive fast. that's your air conditioning.
mom's doctor's appointment went well today. i think she liked this new doctor. he was pretty thorough and a good listener. she had to have some blood drawn afterwards. i'm hoping all her numbers are still good. she didn't bruise too bad from her fall yesterday. i took her to Burger King after the appointment so she could get her frozen Coke she loves so much. you know, whatever i have to do to stay in the will.
Monday Night Raw was ok last night.
The Voice was very good last night. i have no damn clue who is going to win tonight.
here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night:
here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs last night:
i did watch team USA win this morning at the World Hockey Championships. they won 3-0 over Kazakhstan.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, NXT, Deadliest Catch, the season finale of The Voice and two episodes of Mr. Inbetween.
the Yankees start a series tonight at home against Toronto. hopefully, they will keep on winning.
i'm sure i'll catch some of the NBA and NHL playoffs tonight as well.
i'm going to try to be on here early tomorrow. i want to get the grocery shopping done and be home in time to watch the Europa League final between Manchester United and Villarreal.
i have trash to go pick up here and next door, so that's all for me kids.
i haven't been outside yet, but it doesn't look like we got much more snow overnight. i don't think we got an inch even. but, it does look windy as hell out there, so i'm guessing it feels much more like early January than mid March.
i did watch Cries from Syria last night. the first scene of the documentary will stay with me until the day i die. it was a very powerful documentary, overwhelming at times. i highly recommend checking it out if you get a chance.
i did like a few of the performances last night on The Voice.
the New York Rangers lost last night to Tampa Bay 3-2. the loss doesn't hurt that much as Tampa needed the points much more than the Rangers do. i like where the Rangers are right now in terms of playoff seeding. the first wildcard spot would put them against the other division in the playoffs. that's an easier path than trying to go through the toughest division in hockey.
Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night. i think it was the last time they are going to be at that building in Detroit, so they pulled out all the stops. HBK showed up, HHH beat the shit out of Seth Rollins, who was saving Mick Foley, etc. etc. you can definitely tell WrestleMania is coming up quickly.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, WWE Smackdown and The Voice. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight or tomorrow on WWE Network.
i'll be at the First Four games tonight at UD Arena. the first game will be Mount St. Mary's vs. New Orleans. the second game will be Wake Forest vs. Kansas State. hopefully, it will be two good games of basketball.
that's all for me kids. i have trash to pickup and plenty of things to do before i get ready to go to the games tonight.
oh, just remembered, i heard back from Hobo Camp Review on my query about the poems i sent last year. more or less, they were forgotten about and are no longer under consideration. that always makes me happy.

i wrote 2 poems yesterday afternoon, more or less about the evil inside of me. so when i was stuck behind this old lady while driving to pick up my mother at the rental car place, i started to laugh. sure, i was tempted to run her off the road. sure, i was looking for a spot to pass her. but i did nothing, i just followed. now, when she turned to get on the highway, i did say i hope you die in the accident you're getting ready to cause, but it was more in that loving sense where i hope she doesn't feel any pain. ok, i'm not buying that either.
i really enjoyed The Voice last night. i really have no clue who is getting voted off tonight.
i was relieved to see Gotham was a rerun last night. i was tired as hell when i started to watch it.
Monday Night Raw was pretty good. i was excited to watch Anderson and Gallows finally wrestle. i'm really happy that Karl Anderson has finally fulfilled his dream of getting to the WWE. i'm really interested to see what happens at the ppv this Sunday. it should be a great one.
the New York Yankees got some great pitching last night and a few big hits that were just enough to win 3-1. that's a good way to start a long road trip. they play again tonight in Texas.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be The Voice and Deadliest Catch.
i'm not sure if it's going to storm here tonight or not. my bones tell me yes, but the radar says something else. good times.
i do need to pickup all the trash though. we've already done next door, mostly because i don't think my mother nor i wanted to do that in the rain.
i may do another round of poetry submissions tomorrow, just so i feel like i have had an active National Poetry Month. i do think with the 7 poems i have written in the last 2 days, i should have plenty of options.
that's all for me kids, i have trash to pick up.

so, imagine my surprise yesterday when i completely forgot the New York Rangers were playing in the afternoon. i was watching Ohio State be completely disinterested in their game with Illinois and the score to the hockey game scrolled across the screen. oh fuck, i guess that's why i couldn't find a channel for the game at night. so, for the next 90 minutes or so, it was constant flipping back and forth.
Ohio State found a groove in the second half, mostly due to Ezekiel Elliott. plus, the defense yesterday was outstanding. although the score doesn't look sexy, a little better officiating and it would have. Ohio State won 28-3.
the New York Rangers won their 8th game in a row yesterday, beating Ottawa 2-1 in a shootout. both goals in regulation were scored in the first period, which i didn't see, so from the middle of the second period on it was a pretty tight game. a big two thumbs up to Chris Kreider for standing up for a teammate and completely rag-dolling a motherfucker after a hit to the head. of course, The King was up to his usual tricks. and by the end of the shootout, the sun had shined on a dog's ass once again. (hello to you Dan Boyle). the boys go for 9 in a row tonight at home against Toronto.
Saturday Night Live was very good last night. the opening was very classy and i thought the sketches were way fucking funnier than last week. ROH was excellent as well.
i couldn't get my back loose for anything yesterday. but, after a few victory drinks (that were mostly whiskey), my back was good enough that i could get some sleep.
the Marlon Brando documentary on Showtime last night, Listen To Me Marlon, was excellent. i highly recommend it.

i'm slowly getting really pissed that it is becoming harder and harder to find the videos i want to include in this blog each day. if that happens to continue, either the number of videos will decrease or this blog will be on WordPress or Tumblr before too long.
on the DVR tonight will be Homeland, The Affair and Last Week Tonight.
the New Orleans Saints play at the Washington Redskins today. hopefully the Saints can get a win.
i'm hoping my fantasy football teams do good today. i do have some injury concerns, so that's always fun.
my fantasy hockey team looks like it's going to have yet another losing week. i'm just good enough to almost win each week. this is getting fucking frustrating.
i suppose i should go see if my mother is still alive. i haven't seen her at all this morning.
i have a doctor's appointment tomorrow. it's with an orthopedic doctor. i'm sure he'll be thrilled when i tell him about my bad ankle and bad back. on top of arthritis that is getting worse by the day.
i have no clue if i will blog before or after the appointment tomorrow. i suppose it depends on how this long ass day goes.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i do hope your Sunday is even better.

the rain was supposed to be here by now. my back, as you might imagine, is screaming bloody fucking murder right now. all i can hope is the rain is through here by the time i make the drive to Columbus. i'm not a big fan of driving in the rain, or driving in the rain through construction. let alone having to make that drive twice in a day. good times.
i mostly flipped through some hockey, football, shows on the Discovery channel and the Food Network last night. my fantasy hockey team played much better last night. and i did pick the football game correctly. but all in all it was a night where i just used the massage chair to try to get my back in a better place. i thought it worked until it took me hours to find a comfortable spot in my bed to fall asleep.
i'm lazy this morning so there will be no Flashback Friday today. if you are disappointed, you could always subscribe to my YouTube channel and go watch all my videos there. https://www.youtube.com/user/jjthepoet1

our seats for the hockey game tonight are a little closer to the cannon than i would like, but i can always hope it never sounds except for the pregame shit. i'm not sure why the New York Rangers have to be the season opener for Columbus (this is 2 years in a row). hopefully it goes better than last season. we have to get up there a little earlier than usual because of all the pregame shit. we're in the Club seats once again. that makes it a little easier for mom and myself. my sister ends up walking the arena for a good portion of the pregame. she's a bit of a fanatic when it comes to getting her steps in each day. i'm hoping the Rangers win tonight so my drive home won't be a fucking shit fest. if i don't take losing well in the comfort of my own home, you can imagine how i am when in public. this is where it comes in handy looking like someone you wouldn't want to fuck with to begin with. the Rangers have their home opener on Saturday night against Columbus. if tonight's game gets a little dirty, Saturday night will be a bloodbath.
i'm really hoping the DVR works well tonight as Undateable and NJPW will be recording while i'm up in Columbus. i'm really looking forward to Undateable. this whole season will be live. that should be fucking awesome.
i'll be on here early tomorrow morning as Ohio State plays at noon tomorrow. plus tomorrow is the HUGE game between Mexico and the USA. as usual, a busy sports Saturday.
i hope everyone has a great weekend. if i'm not full of piss and vinegar tomorrow morning, you will know mine got off to a decent start.
