so, it was another one of those nights where i didn't get to bed until 5 in the morning. life gets exhausting sometimes, and i am certainly in that fucking rut. trying to manage my pain and my mother's pain, such a fucking joy.

i did get to finally vacuum the house today. mom tends to always go to sleep when i want to do it. she pulled that passive/aggressive bullshit today and i just went ahead and did it anyway. i can take so much shit, to a point. as i have told her, just like she grilled into me as a child... choices and consequences.
i'm hoping to get some poems written tonight. i know i need to send another round of submissions out soon.
i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.
i hope everyone had a great weekend.

as many of you know, i am not a big fan of Black Friday. i have tried to be less of a consumer as i have grown older. now, if it some crazy can't miss deal, i might take the bait, but often i will do most of my shopping to support small businesses. to me, at least, that is way more impactful than anything else shopping wise. i hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. mom wanted to do the cooking yesterday, so i let her. i could tell she was very proud of herself that everything tasted good.
i did watch all 3 football games yesterday. didn't make much money, but i did get 2 of the 3 games right. i was surprised the Lions didn't cover. i wasn't surprised when the Bears fired their coach this morning. a blind man could have seen that coming.
Manchester United won yesterday in the Europa League, 3-2, at home over Bodo/Glimt.
The Masked Singer was crazy as usual last night.

i got up at 6:45 this morning. i knew when i went to sleep before 3 AM, i was going to be up early. it never fails. hell, even if i take drugs, i'm up early if i go to bed too early. i crashed late this morning and got a little nap in. so, i'm going on roughly 4 hours of sleep. that sums up the last 35 years of my life it seems. 4 hours of sleep.
the Yankees won yesterday at home against Cleveland, 6-0. they held Cleveland to just 1 hit in the game. the Yankees start a series tonight at home against Colorado.

i did get mom to her appointment with the back doctor today. they are going to continue with her shots and probably start back up physical therapy soon. the shots do seem to help her. and she has done a decent job with her physical therapy at home. sad thing is she doesn't sleep worth a shit either. and being a fall risk... now you see my problem.

i think i went to sleep last night a little before 2 AM. i was up at 6 and knew falling back to sleep was not an option. the contractor was here at 7:30. mom went back to sleep when he started working. he left around 1 in the afternoon, but told me he would be back later with the flooring, etc. i was shocked at how much he got done already in the kitchen. got the carpet up, countertop off, two cabinets switched around and the plumbing for the new sink. that gives me hope that this renovation won't take as long as i was fearing.
the New Orleans Saints lost yesterday at home to Detroit, 33-28. hard to win when you get down 21-0 in the first quarter. that was why i had no problem leaving and going to Home Depot. we got the lights for the new kitchen light and some other things we needed. other than the rain while we were driving there, everything went well.

and finally, at night, it did rain. it rained most of the night. i think i finally fell asleep around 4 when it finally stopped to mostly just a drizzle. on those days, my arthritis feels like an elephant has climbed on me for shits and giggles. fun times.
i did get up in time to see Manchester United win this morning. they won 1-0 at Bournemouth. add that with Liverpool dropping points this morning, United now only needs 1 point in their last two matches to officially qualify for the Champions League next season. and with the clean sheet today, David De Gea won the golden glove for the best keeper in the Premier League.
the New York Yankees won last night in Cincinnati, 6-2. hopefully, they will win again today.

so, my luck has been incredibly shitty here lately, so i decided to pull an all-nighter last night. i wrote a poem around 2:30 in the morning and when i went to type it up, my thumb drive fucking broke on me. of course, my arthritic hands dropped it. that thing has the last decade of my poems on it. so, when i put it back together and saw that it still worked, i decided to retire it. also, i couldn't find the cap for it, so i put it in a bag so it would at least be away from dust and dirt. as for the poem, i love it. hopefully, i'll squeeze a couple more from this rock and get some submissions out there.
gambling was incredibly hard yesterday. i missed two fucking parlays by 1 3 pointer and by .5 points. that was the difference between nothing and $75. hence, the all-nighter. i figure if the kicks to the dick continue tonight, time for a shave, haircut, whatever voodoo i need to do to turn the fucking worm.
