i went to the bank this morning to make a deposit. no big deal, there was a little rain but thankfully it wasn't freezing rain. as i was coming out of the bank, i noticed this contractor talking to the police in the parking lot. as i got in the Highlander, the cop was leaving and this old guy comes racing out of the bank. he starts yelling at the contractor, you fucking asshole, you stole money out of my account, i should punch you in the fucking face. i was like, i guess i can wait around for a bit. the old guy was probably in his 70's, the contractor was maybe late 30's. the old guy got into the contractor's van. the contractor got out and got on his phone. i started the Highlander and left, obviously there wasn't going to be the violence i could have another book of poems about. oh well.
i did write 1 poem last night. i have 5 in the unpublished file. i'd love to get another 5 so i can send to a couple different places.
Smackdown was excellent last night.
Real Time with Bill Maher was great last night.

the Dayton Flyers play today at home against Loyola Chicago. hopefully, Dayton will end their losing streak today.
the USMNT takes on Venezuela today in a friendly.
the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Columbus.
a big thank you to John Sweet. he sent me several of his books. i'm thinking of it as an early birthday gift.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday.

The Masked Singer was fucking crazy once again last night.
Snowfall was fucking great last night.

the USMNT Under 23's lost to Mexico last night, 1-0.
the USMNT defeated Jamaica today, 4-1. hopefully, that is a sign of good things to come this year for them.
the Yankees play the Phillies tonight. i can't believe the baseball season starts in a few days.
it is supposed to storm here tonight. it has rained for a good portion of today. my arthritis certainly isn't helping my back any. the winds are supposed to cause power outages tonight. that sounds like fun.
i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

i swear anymore, these days just bleed into each other like trying to paint while doing acid. yesterday feels like 10 days ago. so much to get to, so on we go...
Manchester United shit the bed yesterday and lost to Tottenham, 6-1. i turned the game off when it was 3-1. i couldn't stomach it anymore. today is the last day of the transfer market. to say i'm a tad bit disappointed with what United has done in this window is a understatement. of course, if there is still gas left in the tank for Cavani, maybe he can give the team a lift. oh well.
it seemed like as soon as i turned the New Orleans Saints game on, they were down 14-0. thankfully, they scored the next 35 points and defeated the Lions, 35-29.
NXT Takeover 31 was fucking awesome last night.
Power Book II: Ghost was really good last night. that was the mid-season finale. i think new episodes are back in December.
Lovecraft Country was fucking spectacular last night. just two episodes left in the season.
The Vow was very good last night.
Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual.
Our Cartoon President was hilarious last night.
The Good Lord Bird was great last night.
The Comedy Store was excellent last night.
Desus & Mero was fucking hilarious last night.

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Big Brother, The Third Day, We Are Who We Are and Fringe Nation. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the night.
i did listen to episode 311 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find that by going here:
the Yankees start their ALDS tonight against Tampa out in San Diego. hopefully, the Yankees will find a way to win these games and get past their newest rivals. i'd love to see Tampa lose and cry about it. it's a best of 5 series.
there are two Monday night NFL games tonight. Atlanta is taking on Green Bay and the Chiefs are taking on the Patriots. i'll probably watch a bit of both of the games.
i got my latest order from Topps.com yesterday. i wasn't expecting it until today, so that was a surprise. i got the 2020 Big League Baseball box that has the exclusive Super7 MLB figurine inside. i got the Clayton Kershaw figurine and some really good cards in the packs. it was easily worth more than the $25 i spent on it.
i will probably be on here tomorrow after i get back from taking mom to get her latest shot for her back. she hasn't been feeling well the past few days. sleeping a ton the last 2 days for sure. i'm hoping nothing more is going on that the usual shit she has wrong with her.
i hope everyone had a great weekend.

the New Orleans Saints played like shit in the first half last night. i wasn't happy. thankfully, they made some adjustments and played much better in the second half. that is until they gave up the lead in the final minute of the 4th quarter in just 2 plays. but, the Texans left Drew Brees too much time and he did what future hall of fame quarterbacks do, win. he got the Saints in field goal position and Wil Lutz got off the kick of his life and drilled a 58 yard field goal as the Saints won 30-28. hopefully, this will be the start of a special season. the Saints have to go out west in week 2 and play at the Los Angeles Rams. that should be a good, hard early test for them.
oh yeah, the NFL admitted they fucked up another call last night against the Saints. and those assholes wonder why we think there's a fucking conspiracy against the team by the league.
Monday Night Raw was really good last night.
the New York Yankees defeated Boston last night, 5-0. they went 14-5 against the Red Sox this season. that's the best the team has done against Boston since the 1960's. and they eliminated Boston from having any chance to win the division. magic number is down to 9. they start a series tonight at Detroit.
The Deuce was excellent last night.

it is hotter than shit today here. muggy as fuck as well. i got the trash already done. i had to go to the grocery store to pick up pills for mom and for me.
i think tomorrow is going to be laundry day for me. i'll probably be on here in the afternoon, hopefully after i'm done folding clothes.

i've had a bad back for probably 20 years now, so when that hurts, it's just fucking normal. but now, when i get a pain in my right foot that comes out of nowhere, or when my right side starts to hurt, etc., i figure the sand is running out of the hourglass. i was in pain the entire time i was in the grocery store today. and that wasn't from my mother forgetting to tell me her one medication was going to cost $132. or the groceries costing just as much. if 40 is supposed to be the true start to life, i'm fucked.
the New York Yankees won last night over Seattle, 3-1. they start a series tonight down in that dump in Tampa. if the Yankees keep on winning, they might actually be in first place by the end of the weekend. given all their injuries, that would be a fucking miracle.

when you see the songs at the end of this blog, you will know what the last 18 hours of my life has been. i'm happy with the selection my mother has made for the new windows. i was pretty happy with the discounts she got, especially the one for being retired. that was something the company from last night wasn't offering. she was hoping for a longer warranty, but i asked her why? you plan on living to 90 or so when everyone else in this family is 70 to 80 and then hits the bricks? as usual, good point by me. and as i told her, it's her money, $3,000 more to get what you want is nothing. of course, to me that's a mountain of cash i haven't seen in years. thankfully, the nightmare of listening to salesmen is over for now.
the New York Yankees won last night 7-2 over Toronto. hopefully they will get the sweep of the 2 game series with a victory tonight. i didn't see much of the game as the window guy here last night didn't leave until the game was already in the 7th inning.

i'll be on here tomorrow after i take mom to her physical therapy session.
a quick update on Debbie Kirk. she has made it to Denver and is settling in. her first appointment is tomorrow. she told me this morning why the fuck did she think she could do this alone. i laughed and told her maybe her ego was stronger than she ever realized. she will need any support you can give at this time. here is a link to her gofundme page. anything is very appreciated. https://www.gofundme.com/5m0wfqg

before i go on and on about another Manchester United victory...
i got a line stuck in my head while i was driving back from the drugstore this morning. i have no damn idea where it came from but i'm going to have to write it out sometime tonight because it is still at the top of my brain 4 hours later.
Manchester United defeated Swansea this morning 4-0. i certainly could get used to them scoring 3 goals every second half. i think even more important is back to back clean sheets. i'm desperately hoping that this is what this team is going to be all season. very strong defensively and then fucking lethal in the counter attack. that will win trophies.
the drugstore trip went pretty good. i was able to find everything and do it pretty quickly. i almost bought some more stupid shit for the yard. they had stuff marked 75% off. but i resisted.
i did feed the birds this morning. this weekend is supposed to be dry, so i figured i'd give them some food. looks like i'm going to have to get more suet soon.
the New York Yankees came from behind last night to take a 6-3 lead. no sooner than they scored those runs, Boston came right back in the bottom half of the inning and took the lead right back. fuck me runnin'. the Yankees lost 9-6. they will have to get their shit together quickly if they want to win this series. they face Boston's best pitcher tonight. joy.
VICE was excellent last night. good to see they are making progress with the gorillas in the Congo.
NJPW was great last night. the match between Naito and Ibushi was amazing.
Treehouse Masters was pretty cool last night. i would kill to have a property with that much forest on it.
Room 104 was really fucking weird last night. i enjoyed the shit out of it, especially since it ended with one of my favorite Guided by Voices songs.
Real Time with Bill Maher was pretty good last night.

i'll be watching NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III tonight on WWE Network. it should be an amazing show (fingers crossed).

started the day off today with some thunder. not sure if that's a sign of things to come...
i had a pretty lazy Saturday. i think i caught up on just about all the sleep i could.
it was painfully obvious the home plate umpire last night was totally fucking annoyed the New York Yankees came from behind twice to force extra innings last night in Seattle. the Yankees had two strike threes called on them in the top of the 10th last night that were around the ankles. in the bottom of the inning, the strike zone was about the size of a penny. naturally, Seattle won 6-5. the Yankees will still have a chance to win the series this afternoon.
the USA vs. Costa Rica game last night completely changed when Clint Dempsey entered. one big assist and one big goal later, the USA won 2-0 to advance to the Gold Cup finals. the goal ties Clint with Landon Donovan for the most goals scored for the national team. hopefully he breaks it in the finals. this was easily the best the USA has played in the tournament.
ROH was excellent last night.
i did catch a little of the UFC last night.
Risk was fascinating last night on Showtime. i think i learned more about Julian Assange than i ever thought i was going to. i highly recommend it.

i got home in time to watch most of the second half of the Manchester United game today. i probably would have been better off just going back to bed.
my fingers are crossed, but it does look like mom's hip replacement is on for next Tuesday. i wasn't exactly thrilled when we were told we had to be at the hospital at 5:30 in the morning. there's some nights i'm lucky to be going to bed at that hour. oh joy. in other hospital news, i have two cousins in two different hospitals for god knows what. good times.
i enjoyed 205 Live more than Smackdown last night and that's not a good sign going into a ppv on Sunday.
Deadliest Catch was really good last night.
i feel bad for Hunter on The Voice. he clearly got robbed last night. that being said, his career will probably be better off for not winning the show. the dude is way more talented than most of the other people on the show. i think the winner this season will either be Chris Blue or Lauren Duski.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.
the New York Yankees finally got some decent pitching on a night where they were hitting the long ball. they defeated the Royals last night 7-1. hopefully they can make it 2 in a row tonight.
team USA plays team Finland tomorrow in the 2017 Ice Hockey World Championships.
the winds here today have been horrific. it's the kind of day where driving a SUV is a skill. the winds reminded me of being back on the farm, watching boards fly off of rusted barns and doors being ripped wide open. i don't miss those days.
mom actually broke down and had me turn on the air conditioning last night. it dawned on her that a house at 79 degrees isn't actually good for trying to sleep.
i might try to do some writing tonight. it's either that or hoping some baseball allows me to catch up on some sleep.
the Sacramento Kings finally had a draft lottery that didn't bite them in the ass and they will have 2 picks in the top 10 (5 & 10). god willing, in a deep draft, they will not fuck it up.
i made a trip to the bank this morning. mom paid me for the first half of the month. i think this black woman knows me now at the bank as she commented on me not having any rolls of coins with me today. she's a cute one, so i'll be sure to have some rolls the next time.

i ran into a cousin at the grocery store today. i'm not a guy that really likes to shoot the shit in public. i'm more of the i have a list and i want to get this shot done type. my uncle is back in the hospital. mom got the phone call last night. who the fuck knows what he has now to go along with the cancer. i told mom though, the family will not be able to stand him dying around Christmas. the joys of the holidays.
thankfully, my Sunday night was much, MUCH better than my Sunday afternoon. i was so fucking angry by the end of the New Orleans Saints game that i thought i was going to have a stroke.
Manchester United was cruising along up 1-0 yesterday at Everton. late in the game, The Special One decided to bring on Marouane Fellaini. like most United fans, i was like WHY? sure enough, less than 3 minutes on the pitch, he fouled a guy in the box and gave Everton a penalty kick. so, for the fifth game in a row in the league, a fucking draw. 1-1. i wanted to blame it all on the shitty officiating, but even i know it was more self inflicted than anything. hopefully this shit will end one day. maybe they can find a team dumb enough to want to sign him in January. or maybe The Special One will just let him rot on the fucking bench for the rest of the season. not the way i wanted to start my Sunday.
the New Orleans Saints couldn't get a stop on defense to save their lives yesterday. and the offense was fucking horrific for most of the game. not a good combination for winning in a game that you really needed. the Lions beat the Saints 28-13. Drew Brees was held without a touchdown at home for the first time in 7 seasons. so you can imagine how my day went in fantasy football as well.
WWE TLC was amazing last night. i loved all the title changes. i loved the main event. it had a little of everything. all in all, it was better than i expected and i was expecting a great one.
Westworld was one of the best mind fucks i think i have ever received. nearly all the questions were answered and honestly, just give anyone connected to the show whatever damn award they are up for. it was fucking great. if you didn't watch the show, do yourself a favor and find it and enjoy the fuck out of it.
Divorce was pretty funny last night.
Shameless was great last night. i'm so emotionally invested since i have watched every episode, i nearly shit myself when Ian got in the car with Mickey at the end of the episode.
i really enjoyed The Affair last night. i never knew Brendan Fraser could play a creep so well.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and the semifinals of The Voice. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.
it looks like winter may really be here by the weekend. snow and lows in the teens. good times.
i went through my mailing list last night and picked out the lucky ones to get something from me this Christmas. so, start looking in your mailboxes in the next few days.
i will probably be on here in the morning tomorrow. since there is a basketball game Tuesday night, it's a bit of a clusterfuck.
i hope everyone had a lovely Sunday.

i wasn't exactly upset last night that they cut the Yankees game short because of rain. the way the game was going, they had absolutely no chance of coming back. the team has completely hit a horrific stretch. and i'm not exactly sure when it will turn around for them. they play Cleveland tonight. thank god i have other viewing options.
i am looking forward to Monday Night Raw tonight. just the promise of some new talent being introduced has my mouth watering. plus, CM Punk will be back soon. that's always something to look forward to. while on the pro wrestling tip, a quick thought about Ring Of Honor over the weekend. every time i watch ACH wrestle, the more i enjoy it. i really hope this kid keeps progressing into a star one day.
i was a little stunned with team USA's victory over Germany yesterday. while i know it wasn't all the German stars playing, a team that struggles to score goals scored 4 on a team whose reserves are better than 90% of our players. i really hope this bodes well for the World Cup qualifiers coming up. highlights from the match are below:
i saw a bluebird eating some sunflower seeds yesterday on the farm for the first time since i have lived here. it immediately made me think of the Bukowski poem...
i did watch the end of the NASCAR race yesterday. Juan Pablo Montoya is my favorite driver of all-time. to see him get passed on the last few laps by another of my favorite drivers, Tony Stewart, was bittersweet to say the least. i'd love for JPM to win on an oval just once so some of the idiots could actually understand how great of a driver he really is. one of these days, it's going to happen.
a big game 7 tonight between the Heat and Pacers. i don't plan on watching much of it unless it's really close near the end or LeBron is having one of those 'holy shit' games.
The Voice is back on tonight. it's down to crunch time now. i'm planning on paying a little closer attention tonight to see who i think will win it all now that my first choice was eliminated last week.
i did go through some poems this morning and have come up with 9 i'll be sending out later this week. hopefully, i make some better choices than i have been making in the past few weeks. although, getting the 3 accepted at Zygote in My Coffee really freshened my outlook, at least for a little while.
that's pretty much all for today. i've got some lunch to get and a long shower to take to hopefully loosen up this back some. i can't imagine why i'm single... always bitching about something in my life. if it's not the back, it's the scar tissue all down the left side of my lower body. of course, knowing it's going to rain 18 hours before it does helps a little. but, since the thought of actually selling off the farm is being tossed around with a little more probability than i was initially expecting, i'm not sure how much good my rain detection is going to do me in the future if i'm living in a condo.
more on that in the coming weeks i imagine.
music today:
The Allman Brothers Band - The Allman Brothers Band
Melissa Etheridge - Greatest Hits: The Road Less Traveled
Young The Giant - Young The Giant
Audioslave - Audioslave
"Poets are Damned... but See with the Eyes of Angels." - Allen Ginsberg
watched team USA (basketball) sleep through a first quarter where they couldn't hit the broadside of a barn. and, as always with basketball, play better defense and offense becomes easy. sure enough. a nice wake up call and then a blowout of France.
as that was going on i was watching Neymar put on a show at the Theater of Dreams. while watching that, it was hard not to think of him one day wearing a Manchester United kit on that field. and with the back heel for the third goal, i really hope those dreams come true one day.
speaking of Man U, Giggs and Cleverley look to be in pretty good shape. nice win for GB.
a night of schizophrenic television awaits for me. Red Sox vs. Yankees, Big Brother, The Newsroom, Weeds, Episodes, Big Brother After Dark. thankfully i already know the results of the events (swimming, gymnastics, etc.) going to be shown this evening. i don't care for tape delay in a world where i can find out what happened in seconds.
speaking of Big Brother last night, finally an episode on Showtime where i could laugh my ass off. PLEASE, keep giving them tons of alcohol.
