at least the sun was out today

i love when a random conversation with a stranger turns into realizing it's suddenly 4 in the morning and you should be asleep. i'm trying to guard against my usual habit of falling way too quick with these things, but i did pick up some really awesome vibes from this one. so, fingers are crossed.

Manchester United won 2-0 yesterday over Newcastle. i love the fact that they finally kept a clean sheet. and, they keep on winning.

i didn't watch much of the New York Rangers game last night. i kept track of the score and they never gave me a reason to turn back. the Rangers lost to the Penguins, 7-2. oh well.

i did watch all of the USA vs. Czech Republic game last night at the World Juniors. team USA won 3-1. they will now face Russia on Friday in the semifinals. winner will play for a gold medal. the other semifinal will be between the two upset winners yesterday, Finland and Switzerland. to think that Canada and Sweden are already out of this is crazy. but, that also opens up the road for the USA to bring home a gold.

The Masked Singer last night was fucking crazy. mom got Antonio Brown right from the start. this is going to be one of those shows where i can simply turn my brain off and enjoy.

NXT was a recap of how amazing 2018 was.

both episodes of NXT UK were really good yesterday.

205 Live was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon and Gotham.

i did listen to episode 219 of Notsam Wrestling today. you can find that by going here:
http://notsam.com/wrestlingpodcast/2019/1/3/notsam-wrestling-219-mjf

the trip to the bank was a good one. the one woman that works there that has showed up in some poems was working today. that was another stroke of good fortune for me.

mom wanted me to go to get money from the ATM of her bank, a good 20 minutes or so from my bank. so, my afternoon was spent driving. i picked up some lunch for us on the way home. she's been pretty dizzy today. i don't know if it's the weather or stress or what. i've told to just lounge in the chair or the bed and just calm it down. hopefully that works. i need to make sure she writes all this down as well so the doctors know what's going on.

the plan for tomorrow is to get this blog done in the morning. i then need to get the grocery shopping done before the USA plays Russia at 4 in the afternoon. i want to have a clear head for that one.

hope everyone is doing good. until tomorrow boys and girls.

the day before i ignore my family for hours...

ask anyone that knows me, i dislike holidays just about as much as anyone can. now, i can play the role of the polite guy, or friendly guy, or even pretend i'm happy to be here guy. i simply choose not to on most holidays. now, considering in a few months i will be moving next door to family... i certainly hope the door to my new room has a lock on it.

i did happen to write 3 poems last night before i went to bed. i typed them up this morning and i really like them. even the one i wrote about Bill Cosby is good. so, the fun task is now figuring out where i'm going to send them. i'll probably do that sometime in the next few days.

i was really shocked on who got voted off The Voice last night until i thought about it this morning. i remember how American Idol got ruined by women in their late 20's to late 40's voting for the guy they'd like to fuck rather than the person with the most talent. so, considering there is only one female left on The Voice this season, i think the same shit is happening again. but, it's probably the best thing that could happen to Reagan. she's too talented at 16 to not make it somewhere.

tonight, the New York Rangers are playing down in Tampa. it will be the first game back in Tampa for Marty St. Louis. it should be interesting. hopefully they win, but i won't have my hopes up. this trip is usually a fucking disaster.

also tonight, Lucha Underground will have a new episode on. i'm really looking forward to that.

had a nice long talk with my friend from California today. she's battling double pneumonia right now, but her spirits sounded good. hopefully she gets better soon.

my thoughts and prayers are with my friend Paul. his dad had another heart attack. he's a tough old fucker, so hopefully he battles back from it.

i imagine i will be on here in the morning tomorrow. my sister will be down to watch the parades, so i'll be on the computer switching from fantasy football to porn. we all have our Thanksgiving traditions i suppose.

thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

exhausted

i didn't sleep well last night at all. not sure if it was what i was watching or the impending rain that kept me up. needless to say, i woke up this morning and felt like there was about 150lbs. of bricks on my back. like i told my buddy over the weekend, when it rains i go from being 38 to 83.

it was nice to have Paul over to watch some football yesterday. we jumped from game to game before settling on watching the Bengals game. he's a fan of them. he certainly wasn't thrilled when the game ended in a tie. but, the game going late got him out of grocery shopping, so he wasn't that upset. i'll probably see him again in two weeks when he doesn't have any kids again.

i did pretty well picking the games yesterday. both of my fantasy teams are leading going into tonight's game. i don't like my chances of winning, even with the players i have going tonight. i'll know by late tonight how it all shakes out.

the Rangers played like shit once again last night, losing 6-3 to Toronto. The King got pulled in the second period. the defense looks horrible right now. i've been watching hockey too long to panic, but this shit has to change soon. they play the Islanders tomorrow night. i won't get to see it as i'll be in Columbus to watch the Blue Jackets face the Dallas Stars.

the Sunday night shows were pretty damn good last night. Boardwalk Empire was great. 2 of the main characters got killed off, which took me by surprise. there's only two episodes left in the series. i have a feeling it's going to go out with a bang. Total Divas had me laughing, mostly because of how stupid they make the show. Last Week Tonight was a rerun, so i caught a little nap. i woke up in time to watch Homeland. it was great as usual. after that, i watched the first episode of The Affair. i think i'm really going to like this show. plenty of sex, some good story telling and a great cast.

tonight is clusterfuck Monday on television. the battle rounds start on The Voice. Monday Night Raw is in Atlanta. i need to keep an eye on Monday Night Football. i will try to watch most of Gotham, while hopefully catching The Big Bang Theory on YouTube. of course, i think mom won a free month of Hulu Plus at McDonald's, so maybe i'll watch it on that. who knows. there's also some baseball and hockey tonight. i guess i should get another nap in soon.

i won my week on fantasy hockey, 6-4. i'm in third place in the league to start out. better than i thought it was going to be that's for sure.

it's been unseasonably warm here today, around the mid 70's. been a painful mix of a little sun and a ton of clouds. my back is telling me that there is more rain on the way. at least i can turn the furnace off for a few days. that will save a few bucks.

i'll probably be on here tomorrow morning sometime. i have no clue when we're driving up to Columbus tomorrow. mom took the week off. i don't blame her, she has 10 weeks of vacation. she might as well use them. until then my friends...

hope everyone had a great weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

welcome to the deep freeze

when i went out this morning to feed the cats i didn't bother to look to see how cold it was. i knew it was COLD. i had on 5 layers and was determined to spend no more time outside than i absolutely had to. might be the quickest i have fed the cats in years. when i got back in, i checked to see how cold it really was. -11 degrees and a windchill of -38 degrees. well, at least the sun was out.

we probably only got an inch of snow yesterday. but, the inch of rain we got froze about as quick as i have ever seen anything freeze. thankfully, i did put out some ice melter when i woke up this morning. the stuff said it worked down to -7 degrees. it was -4 at the time. true enough, it melted the ice. that made me really happy and confident i could get out to the cats without falling on my ass and breaking something.

as for the birds, i threw out some birdseed for them on the ground. there's no use putting any in the feeders as the wind would just whip all of it down to the ground. it hasn't been this cold here since 1994. and i don't think the temps are done going down. but, it's supposed to be near 40 by the end of the week. just about as everyone will be sick with something. good times.

i did manage to get one playoff game right over the weekend as i called the 49ers win over the Packers. hopefully i do better this coming weekend.

my fantasy hockey team shit the bed this past week. and i got news this morning of an injury to one of my key players. hopefully it's not really serious. thankfully, i still have a 10 game lead in my division.

i did watch that Jimmy Fallon special last night. i had seen most of the stuff they covered. all i really hope is he does the same silly shit on The Tonight Show. might actually have to switch over from Letterman if that happens.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Columbus. not thrilled that i have to watch the Columbus broadcast of the game. hopefully the Rangers can actually start playing good at home for a change.

i am looking forward to the old school Monday Night Raw tonight. that should be a fun swim in the rivers of nostalgia.

other than that, my main focus will be staying warm tonight. i'm contemplating sleeping out in my chair as that room stays much warmer than my bedroom. of course, i might not sleep at all as i'll probably be up making sure the pipes don't freeze. good times.

a big hello to whomever is finding this blog in Russia. i'm hoping it's more than one person as there has been more than 300 hits in the last week from Russia. or, hello to my stalker from Russia. hope you enjoy.

that's all for me. i would type more but the heater out here in the computer room sucks. so i'm off to my chair in the only room in this old house that has adequate insulation. that's the joy of a cold winter on a farm. you'll always have a few layers on, inside or out.

hope everyone is warm and drunk. be well.

look what one of the cats left me this morning

i believe that used to be a squirrel. now, i'm wondering do i let the insects finish it off or do i get a shovel and throw it in a field? hopefully, come morning, there's nothing left in that spot.

actually went out in public today and made a little money. got some music together and took it to the closest used music place around me. i was hoping for $20 and got $41. needless to say, i'm a happy boy.

i did watch a good portion of The Voice last night. some good ones although i'll never quite understand why any male singer would choose Christina as their coach, unless he's allowing his dick to make the decision. and yes, i'll watch more tonight. and with nothing else on that i have to watch, i won't miss as much. thankfully YouTube had all the performances i only caught pieces of.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good once again. i love the work of CM Punk and Daniel Bryan these days. also, the unexpected return of Cody Rhodes and Goldust was classic. i actually marked out for that. i love when wrestling can still make me feel like a child.

the Yankees return tonight. i imagine i will watch some of it. i highly doubt they can win out like they need to. but, it would be nice to see them beat Tampa and at least fuck up their plans for the playoffs.

i did watch some of the New York Rangers last night. although, once i found out the score i just went to bed. there is no reason to watch a loss in the preseason. none.

i won 1 fantasy football matchup by 40 some points and loss the other by 76!!!!!!!! points. talk about an ass whipping. i haven't been humiliated like that in years. needless to say, most of that team is on waivers this morning. i went 9-7 on my picks for the week. hopefully that is my worst week of the season.

check out http://2leafpress.org/online/a-word-from-the-publisher/ my tight ass actually gave some money to the cause. help if you can or help spread the word.

i believe that is all for today.

back from the dead

so i go into feed the cats today like i do everyday. a little after 12:30, after The Dan Patrick Show and The Box Score go off the air. i open the wood sliding door and who the fuck do i see... Gizmo 2.0. i haven't seen this cat in over 3 months. skinny as fuck and crying like no tomorrow. i couldn't get the food down fast enough. this breaks the record my cat Roscoe used to have for the longest time between appearances. Roscoe came back after 2 months. of course, he was missing a good chunk of his left side and within a week was dead. Gizmo 2.0 didn't have any battle wounds that i could see. but that wasn't the first bit of good news today.

i found out this morning my poem "when insanity meets the evening news" is going to be published in a Norwegian street paper (http://www.klar.as/) in the fall. first time i've ever been published in Norway. the poem was originally published at StrangeRoad.com.

i caught one hell of a wave last night and wrote all 14 poems i needed to write in about 90 minutes. i sent them to my artist friend in Sweden and he loved them. now, it is time to find a publisher.

mom found an internet feed of CBS last night from out of Canada, so i did get to see Big Brother. i laughed my ass off as everyone tried to give Amanda the HOH and she still couldn't win it. there should be some fireworks this week, as the time has finally come to get some good players out.

Wilfred was hilarious as always. any time you can get Dwight Yoakam involved, it's bound to be great. and to watch gag after gag last night was great.

the Yankees are in Boston tonight. i'm not sure how much of that circus i will be watching.

hopefully i will get to bed at a decent hour as the Premier League starts back up tomorrow morning at 7. thankfully Manchester United doesn't play until the afternoon.

i want to give a public thank you to Natascha Hoover for the package she sent me. always nice when you get some unexpected things in the mail. i'll be sure to mail you some things in the coming week. and for everyone reading this with their minds in the gutter, for once you are wrong. a book and some food. some tasty Hawaiian food at that. yummy.

hope everyone has a great weekend. looks like it is going to warm up here a little. maybe into the low 80's. i can't believe these are the dog days of summer. much better than the 90's with humidity like it normally is, i can tell you that.

until we meet again my friends...

what to do when karma comes for you

i had a pretty damn good morning. made a good breakfast for myself (eggs, sausage, toast), was able to get through all my email without the internet fucking up, actually wrote a poem that spawned from a conversation with myself in the kitchen, and had an in and out session in the bathroom that didn't leave me in pain.

so as i'm driving into town to get the mail i start having stomach pains. the kind of pain i hadn't felt since my sciatic nerve was fucking with me years ago. on my way back in from town (of course i didn't turn around, i'm a man) i nearly hit 2 deer that were crossing from my wood lot into the soybeans across the road.  as i'm going roughly 30 mph up the lane, the pain is getting worse. i get inside and make it to the toilet. as i'm pulling down my shorts and sitting in the same motion (that does wonders for my bad back), something akin to an explosion takes place. thankfully, most of the shit made the bowl.

so after cleaning up that nightmare, i read the newspaper. then, i go type up the poem i wrote this morning. (i really like this one) just as i'm getting ready to hit the grammar check, the fucking power goes out. after a few expletives, it comes back on after 10 seconds. just long enough that everything in the house needs to be reset. fuck me. so i retype the damn poem and get it saved.

i'm very curious who i pissed off in a previous life. i figured nearly dying at 32 was my karma for this life.

Big Brother last night was not the surprise CBS made it out to be. i wish they wouldn't get so fucking creative with their editing. by the way, the other racist white female is the new HOH. i guess we get to play the race angle once again this week.

Wilfred last night was excellent as well. i'm a huge fan of subconscious thought so the episode made me laugh my ass off. especially when i think of how fucking weird some of my thoughts and dreams get at times.

a quick note to TNA, if your big surprise is a washed up MMA fighter at the end of your show, you're not going to be attracting any new fans. and if you are a fan of it, more power to you. but i won't be wasting those 2 hours for that shit again.

the Yankees are out in San Diego this weekend. i'm hoping for some wins as Granderson makes another return from the disabled list. at the very least, win the damn series. i figure i'll be bouncing between that, WWE Smackdown, and whatever music i can find.

i see the CR7 rumors and Manchester United have started up again. i don't believe them but i certainly wouldn't mind if he came back.

thanks to all the kind people that dropped me some lines this week on Google+ and LinkedIn. i really appreciate it. the old ego needs a shot every now and then.

i had a change of plans giving how i felt today and the rain we're supposedly going to get this weekend. i decided i'm going to mow grass on Monday. there's no way i would be able to sit in the sun today the way i'm feeling. i would be better off just putting the shotgun in my mouth and getting it over with. plus, if we do get all this rain, i'd rather have the grass high. it tends to help the soil collect and drain properly when it's high.

that's all for today. i hope everyone has a great weekend. hopefully i'll write some more and get another batch ready for submissions later this month.
