Happy Fourth of July

i hope everyone has a great Fourth of July.

i've been up since 7 AM. don't ask me why.

the Yankees lost last night to the Reds, 3-2. hopefully, they will avoid the sweep this afternoon.

AEW Dynamite was good last night.

i got 9 out of 10 MLS games right last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

nothing on the DVR tonight.

today will be baseball. this evening will be the copa america. and then tonight, probably fireworks.

i don't have any concrete plans for today. i might reconfigure my small ass room, just to see if i can get it to where i can get all my clothes into the dressers. what that really means is i might have a large ass donation to the Vietnam Vets soon.

i hope the weather is good wherever you happen to be. i know it is supposed to start raining here at noon.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

enjoy the holiday...

a cool sunny day...

it felt really nice out today. i had my sunglasses on and how i just wish it could be like this year round. upper 60's in the day, 40's at night.

i went to the post office today to mail out some baseball cards to the west coast. postage has gone up a little, but hopefully the cards get there by the end of the week. after that, i went to the bank. of course, the bank i normally go to was closed for some fucking reason. i went to the next town over, mostly because i had to pick up some pills for my mother and another branch of the bank isn't that far away. i made that deposit and then went to Kroger. i can't believe how much they have changed the store around in just a few days. after that, i went back home. this is the kind of day where i wish i could just sleep all day long.

i kind of was in and out of a few football games yesterday. i did see a couple of crazy overtimes.

Axios was good last night.

Succession was awesome last night.

American Rust was great last night.

Desus & Mero was fucking hilarious last night.

BMF was really good last night.

Hightown was very good last night.

i sent out 10 poems over the weekend. i'm not at liberty to say where i sent those to just yet, but i really hope some of them get accepted for this new project coming. more details when i can share them.

i should be on here in the afternoon tomorrow.

a little change of plans...

since it was supposed to rain this afternoon (so far, not a fucking drop, just some thunder), i did the grocery shopping this morning. i got everything on the list and spent less than $100. mom was a bit shocked by that. as of right now, everyone has to wear a mask when out in the Ohio county i reside in. i wore my Saints mask today. i have plenty to choose from now.

i did watch the Red Scare today play in the TBT. they won 77-68. they play on Friday against House of 'Paign, who upset Carmen's Crew (the #1 seed and winner from last year).

Ringo Starr's Big Birthday Show was really good last night.

Deadliest Catch was very good last night.

Dirty Jobs was pretty funny last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, AEW and NXT.

i should be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays. here is a preview of their game tomorrow:

i should also have some poetry news to post by then as well. i'm hoping to get some submissions out in the morning.

today was yet another day in the 90's. the heat is really getting to mom. she sleeps most of the day now.

there is a chance i might be back on here again tonight. we'll see.

until then kids...

happy for Joe...

i watched a good portion of the national championship game last night between LSU and Clemson. now, i do believe it would have been a better game if Ohio State would have been there, but i am happy for Joe Burrow winning the whole damn thing. i think it's pretty obvious the Bengals will take him with the number 1 pick in the NFL draft. LSU ended Clemson's winning streak, winning last night 42-25.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.

the New York Rangers defeated the Islanders last night, 6-2. that made me pretty damn happy.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Jeopardy! The Greatest of All Time and WWE Backstage.

i'll be at the Dayton Flyers game tonight at home against VCU. the game is on CBS Sports Network at 8 PM. i'm hoping Dayton, now ranked #13 in the country, can end their 4 game losing streak to VCU tonight.

i have a doctor's appointment this afternoon. i believe its for my results from my upper g.i. scan. and i'm sure my liver numbers still aren't good, mostly because i refuse to stop drinking. i'm sure we'll probably go over my blood tests from last month as well.

when i get home from that, i'll have a light late lunch and then get the trash done. after that, i'll be off to the game. hopefully, i will get a much better parking spot tonight than i did this past weekend.

i'm going to try to be on here tomorrow before Manchester United plays in the FA Cup. if not, here is a preview of the game:

that's all for me kids. until tomorrow.

a flood of memories...

my sister came down this morning. her friend came over as well. they are cleaning as a gift to my mother.

when INXS: Live Baby Live was filmed, i was 15 years old. you can imagine the flood of memories that came rushing back when i watched it last night.

Smackdown and 205 Live were good last night.

Room 104 was pretty good last night.

the season finale of Real Time with Bill Maher was fucking hilarious last night. the show will be back in January.

Trotwood won again last night in the Ohio High School football playoffs. they have advanced to the Regional Finals next Friday.
https://www.daytondailynews.com/sports/high-school-football-friday-regional-semifinal-roundup/3kznoBh4hfGiU26ECe7G6O/

the USMNT defeated Canada last night, 4-1. that was a wonderful surprise.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live, ROH and NJPW.

the New York Rangers play tonight at the Florida Panthers. i won't get to see the game, but i'm pretty sure they can't play any worse than they did in Tampa the other night.

Ohio State plays today at Rutgers. it's the last game of Chase Young's suspension. hopefully, Ohio State will win easily once again.

the Dayton Flyers play at home tonight against Charleston Southern. the game is a sell out. my sister is going to the game with me. it's the first time she will have seen the completed arena.

i should be on here tomorrow before the New Orleans Saints play.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. leave a message if you need bail money.

may tonight be the start of a championship season...

before i start waxing poetic on how i want this to be the year the New Orleans Saints win another Super Bowl, a little poetry news to get to first.

i sent out 15 poems today; 4 to The Rye Whiskey Review; 5 to Synchronized Chaos (already accepted for publication) and 6 to Record Magazine. when i hear back from these places, i will pass along the verdicts.

the New Orleans Saints start their season tonight at home against the Texans. the Saints haven't won their opening game of the season in a long time. i want them to break that streak tonight. and i honestly feel like they have a team that could win the Super Bowl this season. i'd love to see them win again before i'm fucking dead.

the New York Yankees won last night over Boston, 10-5. they go for the series win tonight. magic number to clinch the division is down to 10.

Big Brother was good last night.

Succession was excellent last night.

The Righteous Gemstones was good last night.

Ballers was very good last night.

Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual.

Power was great last night.

The Affair was very good last night.

On Becoming A God in Central Florida took a little dark twist last night. very interesting.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Deuce. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the night.

i didn't sleep worth a fuck last night. for some reason, my body clock is still set on 7 in the morning. at least i did get a few hours napping in my massage chair.

i guess it's supposed to get back into the 90's here starting tomorrow. joy.

i'll be on here tomorrow after i get mom's pills from the store. she thought she got them on Saturday when my sister took her. instead, they only gave her 5 of them. i guess the other 175 will be ready by tomorrow. what a shit show.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

tossing and turning for 5 hours, i guess that's what i call sleep...

hell, even alcohol doesn't help me sleep anymore. i tried to freeze my right arm last night. that helped for maybe a couple hours. i'm probably going to have to break down and call the doctor if this keeps up into next week. joy.

the New York Yankees won last night over Toronto, 4-0. they will play again this afternoon.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

Los Espookys was really funny last night. the season finale is next week.

Shangri-La was excellent last night. Rick Rubin is probably one of my favorite humans, EVER.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NJPW and ROH.

around the same time tonight, AEW Fight for the Fallen and Evolve's 10th anniversary will be on. the plan for now is to watch AEW first and then i'll watch Evolve on WWE Network later tonight. more or less, i will probably watch something close to 10 hours of wrestling today. i can't imagine why i'm single.

Manchester United won 2-0 today in Australia.

i will probably be on here in the morning tomorrow.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

not exactly how i want to wake up in the morning...

i couldn't find a spot for my back last night to calm down until almost 5 in the morning. sometime around 9, i heard a lawnmower outside of my window. sure enough, the guy who cuts our grass was out there mowing. i knew there was no way i could get some more sleep, as i needed to get going since mom had a doctor's appointment this afternoon. i would have loved to get more than 4 hours of sleep, but people in hell want ice water as well.

i got mom to her appointment on time. her A1C was good and everything looks to be well with all her shit. after that was over, she wanted to go to Long John Silver's. the one closest to us closed about a year ago, so this the only one even remotely close to us now. i didn't get much as it was one of those combo Long John Silver's/KFC restaurants. after that was over, i decided to drive back through the town i grew up in. i went back into the neighborhood i grew up in and holy shit, it was hit bad by that Memorial Day tornado. the house i grew up in looks like it had damage on all 4 sides of it and the roof. the tree i thought about killing myself on when i was 8 got destroyed. the other side of the street looked even worse. it looked like every apartment building in the apartments next to where i grew up got damaged. this was the first time i had been back in the neighborhood in probably 20 years. as much as things looked the same (minus the damage of course) the more i knew it will never recover. i'm really hoping i am wrong about that, but i doubt i will be.

the New York Yankees won yesterday, 10-3, to split their series with the White Sox. they start a series tonight at home against Tampa. first place will be on the line.

Axios was excellent yesterday.

Big Little Lies was great last night.

Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual.

the season finale of The Chi had some truly holy shit moments. i'm really interested to see where this goes for season 3.

Our Cartoon President was fucking hilarious last night.

City on a Hill was really good last night. i think i'm really going to enjoy this series.

Euphoria was excellent last night. i got a good laugh from people thinking it's controversial. these are probably the same people that believe their teenagers are angels and don't do drugs or look at porn or do plenty of crazy shit. i can't say i had many high school parties like the one on the show, but i had a couple that were crazy as fuck and that was in the 90's. and i truly believe the drugs are way better today than back then.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Desus & Mero. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

here are your scores from the Women's World Cup today:
China vs. Spain 0-0, Germany defeated South Africa 4-0, France defeated Nigeria 1-0 and Norway defeated South Korea 2-1.

in the Gold Cup yesterday, Haiti beat Bermuda, 2-1 and Costa Rica defeated Nicaragua 4-0. tonight El Salvador takes on Curacao and Honduras takes on Jamaica.

i'll be on here tomorrow sometime after mom gets her injection for her back. she is really looking forward to this as her back has been killing her the past few days.

i know once she gets that done she wants me to take her to Burger King so she can get her favorite frozen drink. joy.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

just a little snow and wind...

this is what my back porch looked like this morning when i woke up:

it rained for most of yesterday and then last night, it finally started to snow. the guys that mom uses to clean off our driveway were here this morning at 7 to clean it off. i haven't even thought of going outside to look for the paper. i believe it feels like -5 at the moment. joy.

the Dayton Flyers won at Saint Bonaventure yesterday, 89-86 in 2OT. i was kind of shocked Dayton won given that their point guard fouled out in the first overtime. thankfully, the players stepped up and got the win in the second overtime. of course, the team got snowed in last night in upstate New York.

the New York Rangers won again last night over Boston, 3-2. the win gives The King his 446th victory, moving him into 6th place alone on the all time list. that's 3 wins in a row for them going into the All-Star break.

Saturday Night Live was good for most of the show last night.

ROH was pretty good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be True Detective, Crashing, High Maintenance, Total Bellas, Shameless, SMILF and Black Monday.

the New Orleans Saints play today at home against the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship game. i hope the dome is as loud as hell today. winner goes to the Super Bowl in Atlanta.

the Patriots take on the Chiefs in the AFC Championship tonight. i really don't care who wins.

if my sister does leave today, we'll do my birthday today. if she doesn't, it will be tomorrow morning i imagine.

today would have been my grandmother's 107th birthday. tomorrow will be my 43rd.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

almost a perfect Sunday...

might as well start where yesterday's blog stopped, Manchester United.

the satellite was fucked up, i'm guessing the snow and cold and shit, so i had to watch the game on the computer. i found it about 10 minutes into it. when Manchester United went up 1-0 on Tottenham in the first half, i was pleasantly surprised. the second half became the David De Gea half, as he put on a fucking show in goal for the ages. 11 saves in the second half alone and United won the game 1-0. that's 6 wins in 6 matches for Ole. first United manager to ever do that. and with the changes he made yesterday, i think he does have what it takes to be the permanent manager for the club if they choose to go that route. United is now just 6 points from the top 4. the rest of this season is going to be fun.

next up was the Dayton Flyers. they got off to a hot start against UMass and never trailed in the game. of course, because of the usual cold spell in the second half (this usually happens when your coach forgets the best player on the team is still on the bench), UMass did make it interesting. Dayton won 72-67. that's 6 wins in a row. they will play at VCU on Wednesday. if they make it 7 wins in a row, i will start to believe this team could win the A10 this season.

the New Orleans Saints were up next. when Drew Brees threw an interception on the first play of the game, i wasn't happy, but i wasn't worried. when the Eagles went up 14-0, i was a little concerned, but not worried yet. but, thanks to a gusty fake punt call and the defense showing up in the last 3 quarters and the offense doing just enough, the Saints won 20-14. the Saints will now play the Rams the day before my birthday with a chance to go to the Super Bowl. my new Saints shirt is now 1-0.

and then it was the New York Rangers turn to bust up a near perfect day. although, i do want them to lose as much as possible to get a good draft pick (which they will probably fuck up, but that's a different story), i want them to lose the right way, where there is at least some hope for the future. when you lose 7-5 to Columbus in a game where you were outworked the entire fucking game, it's not a good sign. thankfully, the coach saw exactly what i saw as well.

the season finale of Ray Donovan last night was fucking crazy.

both episodes of True Detective last night were really good. i can't wait to see what happens next.

Total Bellas last night was pretty good.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

mom had the driveway and sidewalks cleared off today. i can't do it anymore with my bad back. i told her since we have to go to the doctor tomorrow and my sister will be coming down for my birthday this weekend, might as well get it cleared off. it looks like they did a pretty good job.

i'll probably be on here tomorrow after mom's doctor's appointment.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

7 days until my birthday people. if you'd like to get me something, the link to my Amazon.com wish list is on the right hand side of the blog. if you're reading this on Goodreads. i'm obviously talking about the actual blog on Blogger.

i will never try to figure out how my mind works...

i took my mother to have her MRI done today. we were there way longer than she was expecting, which basically meant i had dinner around 5 tonight. while she was having her MRI done, i wrote 10 poems. when i told that when she got out, she was a little amazed. she asked me how it was possible? i laughed and said i don't want to know. i told her my brain swims in innuendo. that makes it a little easier to see something, twist, adjust and then write away. i'll type those poems up sometime tonight, probably late.

i didn't watch anything of Manchester United's Champions League game today other than the highlights. considering that if United won today, they could have won the group, i hoped they would have come out with a little urgency. silly me. United lost to Valencia 2-1. oh well. they will advance out of the group stage. i doubt they will go far in the knockout rounds.

the 4 that advanced last night on The Voice were exactly the 4 i was expecting to. now, it went a little different than i was thinking, but i am happy that Kirk, Chris, Chevel and Kennedy will be in the finals.

Smackdown was fucking great last night. after watching that, i am pumped to see TLC this weekend, mostly because of the women's TLC match between Charlotte, Asuka and "The Man" Becky Lynch. it should be the last match of the event and it will blow everything else away, guaranteed.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight. i'll watch 205 Live, NXT and NXT UK sometime tonight on WWE Network.

my sister went a little nuts and has been sending all these packages to the house of gifts she has got for mom. so, i went and ordered mom a couple CDs that i think she will like. i want her to listen to more music, just so she can take her mind off of everything for at least a few hours each day.

i have no clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. i'm hoping it will be sometime in the afternoon where i can go on and on about some great player the New York Yankees have signed or traded for, but who the fuck knows.

hope everyone is well and the weather is decent where you are.

does tossing and turning count as sleep?

when i saw the water rising in Savannah, Georgia last night, i immediately thought of my sister. she loves that town and has talked about moving there one day. i told my mother this will be the test to see how much my sister is really just my father. if the first thought she has when she sees the flooding is oh, i might be able to get some property cheap now, she is my father. i'm hoping that won't cross her fucking mind.

i haven't heard from my friends in South Carolina yet, so i'm hoping they are safe. thankfully, it doesn't look like they took a direct hit, but i know flooding isn't a walk in the park either.

the grocery store wasn't very interesting yesterday. i think i saw a couple women that may enter my dreams, but mostly i was concerned with getting the shopping done and getting back home. i got it all done in under 60 minutes and managed to keep it under $100. that's a victory.

the friendly yesterday between the USA vs. Cuba was ugly, mostly because the field was fucking atrocious. the USA won 2-0, but when you consider that Cuba hit the post twice, it was much closer than the score indicates.

NJPW was excellent last night.

High Maintenance was hilarious last night. here's one unknown fact about me, i do love rave culture. i suppose that's one of the good things about doing drugs in the 90's.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live and ROH.

Ohio State plays Indiana this afternoon. Indiana has played them really tough the last few years and i have no doubt they are coming in thinking they have a shot to upset the #2 team in the country. hopefully they go back tonight and realize they were wrong.

there are some pretty good college football games today. i will probably flip between them for most of the day.

plus, it actually feels like fall today, so i might open up the windows and take a long ass nap in the breeze.
