 i think i finally fell asleep around 5 this morning. this time of year, as i try to remain productive as the depression creeps in, the hours all seem to just fade into one long session that never ends. this is the grind i have been in since my 20's i think. as i told my mother last night, i'll be dead before i make it to 60 years old. oh well, just trying to live in the now. 

The Voice was excellent last night. i really don't know who is going to win tonight.

i did take mom to the post office today. after that, she wanted to go to Dollar Tree to get some contact paper for the shelves in the pantry. she found some that almost looks like our new countertops. after that, i took her back home. i went to Rite Aid to get my prescription and then around the corner to the grocery store to get a few items from the grocery list.

at least i should have only one store to go to tomorrow.

i will probably be on here after i get the grocery shopping done tomorrow.

i need to go figure out dinner and get the trash picked up.

saw some snow today...

 we had some snow squalls come through today. that really made it feel like holy shit, Christmas is a week away. amazingly, our contractor came out yesterday and got our dishwasher working. he finally found the part that would work with our water system. both mom and i were shocked that he was here on a Sunday. mom got the quietest dishwasher around and it is. i used it today and it will take some getting used to, but it should greatly improve how much time i have to spend doing the dishes with my bad back. so, most of yesterday and today has been putting stuff back into the kitchen. that hasn't done any favors for my bad back. neither did racing to the toilet this morning. that was fun. so, i had some more laundry to do today. thankfully, it is all done now. as for the kitchen, i am hoping the vent hood will get here before Christmas. it would be nice to have all this done and we can get back to the normal dysfunction that i am used to.

in some good news, i got the results from my stool sample. drum roll please.... negative. i was hoping for that as i don't want to be dealing with colon cancer right now. i know i will most likely have that mountain to climb in the future.

Manchester United and Liverpool played a 0-0 draw yesterday. i laughed at how many of the Liverpool players were complaining that United didn't play to win the game. given the injuries, suspensions, illness, etc., that was the only way United could play and expect anything from the game. and honestly, i didn't think they had it in them. so, now that should become the standard. and maybe you'll find someone in January that can actually fucking score.

the New Orleans Saints won yesterday at home over the New York Giants, 24-6.

i did see a few NFL games yesterday.

 so, i got up this morning at 6:50 AM. i was hoping to sleep to around 9. so much for that. the contractor hasn't called this morning, so i'm assuming he hasn't found the part he needs to make sure the dishwasher doesn't leak. god forbid the company actually call a plumber to do this.

sadly, i'm not surprised...

 so, our contractor for the kitchen remodel believed he found the right part to get the dishwasher working. of course, as soon as he tried it, it started leaking. so, he's hoping he can find the right part and if he does, he will be here on Saturday morning. mind you, everything was supposed to be done today. he did get the two small cabinets cut out and the fridge in place and running. but, the dishwasher and the vent hood still need work. i'm not going to be shocked if the vent hood doesn't happen until after Christmas. speaking of Christmas, we don't have one decoration up in the house. the longer this remodel drags on, i doubt we even put up a fucking tree. joy.

i didn't watch any of the NFL game last night. as soon as i saw the score, i knew there was no point in watching. the Raiders beat the Chargers last night, 63-21.

i don't have the patience for a clusterfuck...

 my patience is incredibly thin today, mostly due to fucking humans. apparently, when the original measurements were taken for the kitchen remodel, they were either incorrect to begin with or written down wrong. all is fucking possible to be honest. the new pullout shelves showed up today and they were still too large. and the one that went into the upper part of our pantry was too fucking small. so, mom told the contractor to just put back the regular shelves for the rest of the pantry and forgot about it. the vent hood had a fucking dent in it. joy. and to top everything off, the fucking fridge is too big to fit in where it goes. i told mom i just want the contractor to cut out the two small cabinets that are there now so the fridge will fit and we can use the two small cabinets in the garage somewhere. mom's anxiety is through the fucking roof. and of course, today she found out when the surgery will be for her eyes. i have been up since 5:45 this morning and am running on 3 1/2 hours of sleep. good times.

there's always something...

 so, i did something last night that i have been dreading, but i know it has to be done. since there is colon cancer on both sides of my family, i had to get a stool sample in the mail so they can test it. i know the odds are never in my favor when the backstory is what it is. but, i wanted to get it done before i go to my doctor's appointment next week. good times.

i woke up late this morning. that will be the last time i can do that for the next few days. i only went to the local grocery store today. after i got home from that, i did the dishes and checked the tires on the Highlander. the air pressure was fine in all of them, but the cap to the air gauge on the right front tire was missing. fuck me. thankfully, there is an auto parts store next to Rite Aid. i went there and the lady working knew exactly where i wanted to go to find what i was looking for. $2 later and i had 4 caps for the tires. it fit and i know now i have an auto parts store that i can go to and feel like they know what they are talking about.

the New York Rangers had their asses handed to them last night, losing at home to Toronto, 7-3.

NXT was very good last night.

The Masked Singer was the holiday sing along last night. basically, it was the background music when i was picking up the trash.

Inside the NFL was excellent last night.

The Voice was good last night. the three i have in my finals were the first three announced for the finals, so i felt pretty happy with that. i always think i have a good eye for talent.

well, thank god i didn't watch

 i was out getting things from Kroger today when Manchester United was playing Bayern Munich at home in the Champions League. i dreaded what could happen today and sure enough, it did. United needed to win today and hope that the other game in the group would end up a draw. well, United lost 1-0 and Copenhagen won 1-0. all that means is United finished last in the group and won't advance in the Champions League and won't qualify for the Europa League either. if ETH wants to somehow keep his job as manager, i'm guessing he will have to somehow win at Liverpool on the weekend. if the second part of this doomsday scenario takes place, i'm guessing United will have a new manager by Christmas.

 so, i was up at 3 in the morning doing the dishes in the bathtub. i know there is a poem there somewhere. i really wanted to sleep in this morning. i was still up before 9. mom is just now getting out of bed. maybe i'll sleep more as i approach death.

Manchester United lost 3-0 yesterday at home to Bournemouth. the boys were absolutely pathetic. i don't have much hope for the match on Tuesday at home against Bayern Munich.

the Dayton Flyers won yesterday at home against Troy, 82-70.

i did watch a bit of the Army vs. Navy game yesterday.

the MLS final was excellent yesterday. the Columbus Crew won, 2-1, over defending champs LAFC.

NXT Deadline was awesome last night.
