things are looking up

it's been dry for almost 2 straight days now. if it actually gets to 3, maybe i'll be able to get the grass cut out here. lord knows it needs it.

had an amazing day yesterday in fantasy hockey terms. i don't think i've had that many goals scored for me in one day in years. always nice when it happens during championship week. hopefully the good fortune can continue. it's going to be a dog fight.

watched the Yankees piss away a great game from Kuroda only to be bailed out in extra innings by an absolute horrible defending team in Toronto to win 5-3. they go for the sweep later today. i'm just happy they have won yet another series. i didn't expect this team to be able to click this early.

big game for the New York Rangers later today. i'm licking my chops at their chance to eliminate the Devils from having a chance to make the playoffs. i might want to win this game more than any game since 1994.

had a lovely music discussion last night with a beautiful married woman. i can just imagine the twisted poems that are going to come from my brain. i stopped myself from writing anything last night. i want to let it brew a bit longer.

i hope everyone gets a chance to check out my poem that was published this morning at The Camel Saloon. if you have any feedback on it, please feel free to share it. thanks.

the poet of the day on my Google+ page is Ron Androla. Ron is one of the greats of the small press. do check out his work or read more about him online. he's definitely one you don't want to miss out on.

enjoyed the start of the NBA playoffs yesterday. the only time i even give a thought to watching a full NBA game. if the playoffs are going to be like some of the games yesterday, they're going to be an instant classic.

had a good laugh at ROH tv last night. Kevin Steen going after Matt Hardy was pretty good. not sure how well Steen as a babyface will go... i have no doubt he can pull it off. just not sure if it has any legs past the SCUM angle. should be interesting to watch.

hope everyone has a great day. if you don't see a post from me for a long time in the next few days, rest assured, i have squeezed in the 6 hours needed to mow the grass.

the morning after

i actually got some decent sleep last night. most likely because Fatso and the Devils lost the stanley cup last night. if my Rangers couldn't win it, i sure as hell didn't want the Devils to win it.

was a foggy start to this morning. was kind of funny watching the kittens explore the barn for the first time. will be interesting to see how many of them make it to 2013.

i feel a lazy day coming on. not too hot today, so i may open up the house and just nap. unless, of course, i get something in the po box that changes everything. money, poetry, pussy, whatever...

a little jolt to wake me this morning

the i'm really pissed off for no reason blog post

i tried to watch some boxing tonight, mostly because Gus Johnson was calling it. Gus is one of my favorite broadcasters of all time. he could make reading the phone book interesting. though, he couldn't keep me from falling asleep. but, i did see something i don't i had ever seen before. a boxer with a farmer's tan. and he wasn't even white. man, how far that sport has fallen. so sad.

saw the Yankees lost tonight. not that i actually saw the game. thanks to FOX/MLB's bullshit blackout rules. way to make sure the sport continues to grow in this country. stupid fucks. as for the post game highlights i saw, same shit different day. can't get big hits. can't hit with runners in scoring position. can't win when they don't hit home runs. fuck, i'm stuck watching the Yankees of my youth all over again. fuck me runnin'.

was nice to see Fatso and the Devils lost in overtime again to the Kings. half way to watching that fucker cry again. i'm so happy my dick is almost hard. would be nice to see Quick and Richards win it all though. they've brought me some fantasy hockey championships over the years.

a little NASCAR tomorrow, flip to see if the Yankees can slap Verlander around again (i'm not holding my breath) and then the big decision. Sunday night programming on Showtime and HBO or the Heat vs. Celtics. thank god only the last 5 minutes of a NBA game is must see.

and now a quote to bid all of you a fond farewell

the after midnight and i'm drinking sports report

well, the Yankees tried. they tried and tried to blow another fucking game to the Angels. blew a 4 run lead and tried to give the game away in the 9th. but, somehow, Trumbo flies out on a hanging slider and the Yankees win 6-5. makes the west coast swing a little better.

team USA lost to Brazil 4-1. the score doesn't tell the whole story. the u.s. had chance after chance in the second half after being bitch smacked in the first half. still, only down 2-1 at half. too many chances unfinished and Brazil doesn't need many chances to score. the game was more competitive than i thought it would be but the boys have miles to go before hanging with the big boys on a consistent level.

did tune into the hockey game in time to watch Fatso and the devils lose in overtime. almost brought a smile to my face. but the Rangers aren't in it, so i couldn't give more than two shits about it.

did catch a good bit of the heat and celtics tonight. when the fuck did Rondo learn how to shoot. the celtics fucked up by wasting that effort from him. i doubt he'll be able to hit that many jumpers again in his life. i'll give LeBron credit. at least he took the final shot in regulation. he missed it of course. baby steps i suppose.

and now, a good sports quote to go leave you with

"Fans don't boo nobodies." - Reggie Jackson
