response from Cajun Mutt Press
i heard back from J.D. at Cajun Mutt Press on my recent poetry submission. my poems "the prettiest roses", "a beautiful symphony of madness" and "with an amazing sense of ease" have been accepted for publication. "a beautiful symphony of madness" will be published on March 20, 2020 and the other two will be published sometime in the future.

now i remember why i leave so early for the basketball games...
i made it to my seat about 6 minutes before all the festivities started last night for the Dayton Flyers game. i was probably stuck in traffic for about 20 minutes before i could even make it to the parking lot. the parking lot was a clusterfuck as well. let's just say, i'll be getting there much earlier for the next game.
speaking of the game, Dayton defeated North Texas last night, 71-58. considering VCU only beat them by 3 and Oklahoma beat them by 2, i'm pretty happy with Dayton winning by 13.
the finale of The Voice went as i expected last night. the person i didn't want to win of course did.
WWE Backstage was excellent last night.
i did get to watch Gerrit Cole's press conference this morning. thank god he's with the Yankees now. and i loved when he said pressure is a privilege and he plans on winning more than 1 championship while with the team.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be the season finale of The Masked Singer, NXT and AEW.
i did make it to the bank today. i love that they know me as soon as i walk in.
i completely forgot that Manchester United had a game today. hopefully, i will come home to good news after mom's physical therapy session.
i will probably be on here tomorrow before i have my doctor's appointment tomorrow afternoon. they have new offices now, so i can't wait to find out where they are. i have a general clue, but i haven't made the drive yet.
i think the snow and ice are over for now. it's sunny and fucking cold today. i think the low tonight is going to be in the single digits. joy.
that's all for me kids. until tomorrow...

trying to squeeze 24 hours into 5, such fun...
i feel like the little saying my mother used to always say when i was a child... i'm busier than 9 cats covering up shit in a windstorm. i'm literally doing 3 things at once, hoping i'll get everything done so i can go to the basketball game tonight.
i just put my last load of laundry in the dryer.
i took mom to get her injection today. the roads were much better than i thought they would be. we got more ice than snow last night. she's been feeling a little weird since she got her injection, so i have to be sure she's alright before i even think about going to the game tonight.
Monday Night Raw had some good moments last night.
the New York Rangers lost last night to Nashville, 5-2. if one shitty call by the officials gets called correctly, the outcome would have been different.
The Voice last night was excellent. i have no damn clue who is going to win tonight.
Moonlight Sonata: Deafness in Three Movements was great last night. a very interesting documentary that is worth your time.
the New Orleans Saints whipped the Colts last night, 34-7. Drew Brees set the NFL record for career touchdown passes and completed 29 of 30 passes last night, setting the record for completion percentage in a game. with a little help, they can still win the #1 seed in the NFC.
enjoy some music:

the Dayton Flyers, now ranked #13 in the country, their highest ranking since 1967, play North Texas at home tonight. i'm not sure if i'm going or not. if i don't, i will listen on the radio.
i will be on here tomorrow before mom has her physical therapy session. i'm hoping to also get to the bank in the morning.
that's all for me kids. i still have trash to pick up.

and here comes the snow...
we got a couple inches of snow last night. there's supposed to be a couple more on the way this evening. i was thrilled to see that the driveway was already cleared when i got up this morning. and much to my surprise, the newspaper was at the front door. i wouldn't mind if that's the case tomorrow as well. mom has her injection at noon tomorrow and depending on the weather, i'm not sure how early we will have to leave. the roads were fine today for her physical therapy.
now for a little poetry news... i heard back from The Blake-Jones Review on the poems i sent last month. they decided to pass on them. i wrote 7 poems today while mom was doing physical therapy. i typed those up this afternoon. i like most of them.
i did some cleaning around the house yesterday. mom was slightly shocked.
WWE TLC was pretty good last night. it could have been better, but i've been saying that for years now.
the season finale of Watchmen was fucking great last night. i seriously hope there is a season 2.
Dublin Murders was really good last night.
Ray Donovan was good last night.
Shameless was excellent last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be The Voice and Moonlight Sonata: Deafness in Three Movements. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.
the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Nashville. hopefully the boys will get a win.
the New Orleans Saints play their final home game of the regular season tonight against the Colts. the Falcons did the Saints a favor yesterday by winning out in San Francisco, so i'm hoping the Saints will win tonight and send the NFC playoffs into chaos.
i listened to episode 269 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find that by going here:

i suppose there are worst ways to start a Sunday morning...
i didn't get to bed until 5 this morning. i got maybe 4 hours of sleep before i woke up to start following the Manchester United game.
the game wasn't on television, so i had to follow it online. United got a goal in the second half from Mason Greenwood for a 1-1 draw against Everton. oh well, they could have dropped all 3 points today i suppose. this is also why i say play the fucking kids.
the New York Rangers lost in the shootout yesterday at Anaheim, 4-3.
Navy defeated Army yesterday 31-7. i watched the first half of the game before i left to go to the basketball game.
Joe Burrow won the Heisman Trophy last night. i think everyone knew that was going to happen.
the Dayton Flyers whipped Drake last night, 78-47. i love this team when they play like this. the defense was in attack mode all night long. it makes offense so much easier when you can get some easy baskets off of turnovers.
The Shop last night was excellent.
ROH was good last night.
Bluegrass Underground was very good last night.
Saturday Night Live had some funny moments last night.
i heard back from Live Nude Poems on my poetry submission from back in November. they passed on the poems.
enjoy some music:

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hope your Sunday is even better.

well, at least the rain finally stopped...
it was raining when i did that recording last night. i think it rained most of the night. i didn't get much sleep. i was in bed before 3 AM, which is a miracle anymore, but i saw the clock at 5 and 6 and finally at 7 i said fuck it, and got out of bed. there's a chance of snow tonight. figures, i'll be out at the basketball game.
Mel Brooks: Unwrapped was pretty good last night. seeing all those old clips brought back some memories.
Smackdown and 205 Live were both good last night.

i will watch some of the Army vs. Navy game this afternoon before i get ready to leave for the basketball game.
i should be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays. given that the Saints don't play until Monday night, i have a nice big window to get the blog done.
i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

just your typical Friday the 13th type shit i suppose...
something evil shot out of my asshole this morning. it would have been fine if i actually would have made it to the toilet. as you can imagine, if my day started off like that...
there's been a storm coming for the last day or so. my arthritis has been fucking killing me. mom's back is killing her. she has a few more days before she gets her next injection. this is a house on the fucking edge at the moment. joy.
the grocery store was a fucking zoo today. of course, they have closed two grocery stores in the area, so everyone goes to the one i normally go to now. it's great for people watching, but if you actually have a scroll of shit to buy, it's fucking annoying. i did a pretty good job. i think i got everything today for under $150.
i did listen to the latest episode of Notsam Wrestling late last night. you can find that by going here:

NXT UK was really good yesterday.
Young Sheldon was pretty good last night.
The Unicorn was hilarious last night.
Perfect Harmony was fucking great last night.
Baltimore destroyed the Jets last night, 42-21.
the New York Rangers got a hat trick from Panarin last night and defeated San Jose, 6-3. i didn't expect the four goal outburst in the 3rd period last night. that was fun to watch.
enjoy some music:

of course, much like life, everything is subject to change.
i hope everyone has a great weekend.

what a day or why i should hate people more...
so after about 4 hours of sleep, i got up this morning and started getting ready to go have my blood work done. i got to the place, went up to the 3rd floor and was second in line. 15 minutes later, i was taken to the back. the woman taking my blood told me i have the same birthday as her father. i was thinking she must be in her early 20's at best, given that i'm 43. the first place she tried on my right arm, she didn't get anything. and then she couldn't find a vein in my left arm. she had someone else come in and 30 seconds later, i was having blood fly out of my arm into a vial. i had two vials of blood taken this morning. by the time i got back home, it was nearly noon. oh great, time for breakfast. usually when i eat that late, i spend the rest of the day on the toilet. thankfully, today was the exception. all went well other than mom turning off the coffee pot this morning. i hate warming coffee up in the microwave.
we went out shopping this afternoon. mom said to pick out a Christmas tree and it would be mine. so, like i usually do, i found something cheap. $10. as i told my mother, if it lasts for more than two uses, it's a win. we found a bunch of shit for my sister, which she should really like. after that, mom wanted to get her haircut. so, we went to the place we always go to. i got my mop cut off. it feels so much better now. mom left a pretty nice tip, so they should be happy.
when i got home, i hopped in the shower and realized i hadn't eaten lunch yet. nothing like having a snack bar for diabetics for lunch at 5 PM. joy.
The Masked Singer was really good last night. i got both of my guesses correct.
NXT was excellent last night.
AEW was really good last night as well.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Young Sheldon, The Unicorn and Perfect Harmony. i will watch NXT UK sometime tonight on WWE Network.
i didn't get to watch any of the Manchester United game today. i guess they scored 4 second half goals to win 4-0. that victory wins them their group in the Europa League. that also means they don't have to face a team dropping down from the Champions League when the knockout stage starts.
the New York Rangers play tonight at San Jose. hopefully, the Rangers can get a victory.
i know mom will be watching some of the Ravens vs. Jets game tonight. i can't imagine it being a close game.
i will probably be on here tomorrow after i get back from the grocery store.
thank god the weekend is getting closer.
until tomorrow kids...

we went out shopping this afternoon. mom said to pick out a Christmas tree and it would be mine. so, like i usually do, i found something cheap. $10. as i told my mother, if it lasts for more than two uses, it's a win. we found a bunch of shit for my sister, which she should really like. after that, mom wanted to get her haircut. so, we went to the place we always go to. i got my mop cut off. it feels so much better now. mom left a pretty nice tip, so they should be happy.
when i got home, i hopped in the shower and realized i hadn't eaten lunch yet. nothing like having a snack bar for diabetics for lunch at 5 PM.
Jets game tonight. i can't imagine it being a close game.
i will probably be on here tomorrow after i get back from the grocery store.
thank god the weekend is getting closer.
until tomorrow kids...

the Yankees finally got their man...
before i get to my excitement about the Yankees becoming The Evil Empire once again, i have a little news to pass on...
just saw the news that Lyn Lifshin has died at 77. i have been published with Lyn just about everywhere in the last 20 some years. she was always a kind soul when we would talk online. i'll raise a glass for you tonight. may you rest in peace.
http://dougholder.blogspot.com/2019/12/poet-lyn-lifshin-has-passed-at-77.html
the New York Yankees signed Gerrit Cole, the pitcher they have been after for 11 years, to a 9 year, $324 Million dollar contract. HOLY FUCK. the scary thing is, he's worth every fucking penny. and if he is the difference between them making the playoffs and winning the World Series, he will absolutely become a legend in New York.
the New York Rangers lost last night at the Kings, 3-1. the Rangers turned down way too many shots and they made Jonathan Quick look like his old self.
The Voice went exactly as i expected last night. it's the first time in 7 seasons that each coach has a singer in the finals.
the season finale of Total Divas was really good last night.
WWE Backstage was excellent last night.
The Masked Singer was very good last night. my guess was correct once again.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be The Masked Singer, NXT and AEW.
i wrote 9 poems today while mom was doing her physical therapy. i typed those up this afternoon when we got home from lunch at Bob Evans. i will definitely be doing another round of submissions, probably in the next few days.
i'm hoping to get up early tomorrow morning and get my blood work out of the way. i have to get that done for an appointment in January. mom mentioned something about wanting to get her hair done tomorrow. so, that means i'll be getting the mop cut off from my head as well.
i'll probably be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays in the Europa League. with a win tomorrow, United would win the group.
that's all for me kids. until tomorrow...

check your mailboxes soon...
so i was up to four in the morning figuring out who i was going to send Christmas cards to this year. i got everything mailed out this afternoon. i figure in the next few days or so, they should start arriving. now, all i need to do is wrap gifts and all my Christmas shit is done as far as i'm concerned.
The Voice was really good last night. i have no damn clue who is going home tonight. they are going from 8 to 4.
Monday Night Raw was very good at points and at other points i was flipping over to a shitty football game between the Eagles and Giants.
after i went to the post office, i had to go to the grocery store to get around $250 of pills for both of us. i still have no clue why the doctor's office won't put any refills on this prescription for me. apparently, they like to hear me complain. i picked up a few other things, which lead to a few other things and there was another $60 or so down the drain. that's the tradeoff for cheaper gas i guess.

you could definitely tell a cold front moved through here. winter has arrived once again.
i have trash to go pick up, in the dark. oh joy.

a rainy, rainy day...
while the rain is a good for a few things, it isn't good for my fucking arthritis. it's a dull pain that lingers like the smell of death. joy.
we have a lot to talk about in this blog today, so let's get on with it...
the New Orleans Saints lost yesterday to San Francisco, 48-46. if i wasn't a Saints fan, i would talk about an amazing game to watch. as a Saints fan, i'm fucking pissed about the defense not showing up and the refs once again having their heads up their fucking asses. the Saints are now down to the 3 seed in the playoffs. i would love for them to get back up to number 2 if possible. they are going to need a bye given the injuries on the team.
the Dayton Flyers beat a very good Saint Mary's team yesterday, 78-68. this will be one of those wins that will look very good when March comes around and it's tournament time.
https://www.blackburnreview.com/2019/12/09/another-notch-in-the-belt/
the New York Rangers got another stellar game from their backup goalie (38 saves) and defeated Las Vegas last night, 5-0. it was the perfect start to a west coast road trip.
Axios was good last night. the interview with Joe Biden reminded why i wouldn't vote for him.
Ray Donovan was really good last night.
Shameless was excellent last night.
Dublin Murders was a delicious mind fuck last night.
Watchmen was fucking amazing last night. i can't wait for the season finale next week.
the series finale of Silicon Valley was really good last night.
the series finale of Mrs. Fletcher was good last night. the most underrated part of this show was the music. so damn good for every scene.
Ohio State ended up as the number 2 seed in the college football playoffs. they will play Clemson out in Arizona on Dec. 28th.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i'm hoping this fucking rain ends soon.
i hope everyone had a great weekend.
i have no damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

may the winning continue...
the ups and downs i predicted yesterday certainly happened. so did my superstition, my quick fire anger and the wonderful taste of victory.
Manchester United defeated Manchester City yesterday, 2-1. i was very happy with this result. what a week.
i did watch most of LSU defeating Georgia yesterday, 37-10. honestly, between LSU, Clemson and Ohio State, you could probably flip a damn coin between them. all 3 teams are very solid.
when Ohio State got down last night to Wisconsin, 21-7, i turned the game off. my stress level was through the roof and there was other shit i wanted to watch. that being said, i checked the damn score probably every 5 minutes or so. i didn't turn the game back on until there was 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter. i didn't want to be the jinx of an amazing comeback. Ohio State outscored Wisconsin 27-0 in the second half to win 34-21. that's 3 straight outright Big Ten championships for Ohio State. that's never been done before in the conference. i'm not sure if they will be the #1 seed in the playoffs or not. i do know they will be in them, that's for sure.
Dan Soder: Son of a Gary was fucking hilarious last night. i highly recommend it. here's an interview he did the other day about the special.
Saturday Night Live was pretty good last night. hard to believe Jennifer Lopez is 50 now.
ROH was really good last night.
we put up the Christmas trees last night. i'm hoping we'll get most of the decorations up today as i truly don't want to be fucking with this shit all the way up to Christmas Eve.
enjoy some music:

the New Orleans Saints play at home today against San Francisco. this is a playoff preview. it's a battle for the #1 seed in the NFC. hopefully the Saints will win.
the Dayton Flyers play Saint Mary's today out in Arizona. this would be a nice resume builder win for Dayton for March if they can get the victory.
the New York Rangers play at Las Vegas tonight. it's the start of a west coast road trip. time to get ready for a week of sleeping in my massage chair i guess.
i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i believe mom has physical therapy tomorrow. i should be on here in the afternoon probably.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hope your Sunday is even better.
