Halloween in a winter coat

i went to bed really late last night/this morning. i had to do the dishes, mostly because i wanted to make sure there was some hot water running in these old pipes. the joys of having an old house and you're having your first freeze warning of the season. when i got up, it was close to 40 degrees. sadly, that's probably the high temperature for today. good times. reminds me of my youth having to wear a winter coat over my Halloween costume. thank god those days are over.

my plan worked out again with the New Orleans Saints last night. i picked against them and they won again, on the road even. i'll gladly keep up that habit if it gets them back to the playoffs. they are first in the division once again. a very good 28-10 win on short rest.

i did watch a little bit of LeBron's return to Cleveland. he played tighter than a nervous virgin in an orgy. painful to watch. i doubt they will play that bad again this season. especially against a team that sucks like the Knicks.

The Big Bang Theory was pretty good last night. Billy Bob Thornton did a great job in his role. thankfully, i'm not that fucking awkward around women.

i got an email from Janne Karlsson this morning with an assignment that i'm going to try to get done sometime this weekend. it's always a good sign when he sends me some art and i immediately have some words come to me.

mom and i have a hockey game in Columbus tonight. the Blue Jackets are facing the Toronto Maple Leafs. i love getting to see teams from the Original 6. all i have left out of those teams are Montreal and Boston. i think we have tickets for the Boston game in Columbus... or maybe not. i got to see Detroit and Chicago play in Chicago years ago. and i have seen the Rangers a handful of times in my life. hopefully it is a good game tonight. the Blue Jackets have a ton of injuries, so i'm thinking it may be a glorified minor league team tonight. but, another chance for me to amaze my sister by knowing all the words to O Canada.

it is supposed to be snowing tonight after the game. i would prefer if that shit would wait until i get back home. not that i fear driving in the elements... it's the other assholes on the road i can't stand. plus, most of the drive will be in under construction zones on the highway. good times.

hopefully we get home at a decent time as i would like to catch the new episode of Sonic Highways tonight. Foo Fighters are quickly becoming one of my all-time bands.

i have no clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. i'm guessing late morning/early afternoon as Ohio State plays tomorrow night. it's a pretty big sports weekend, most notably it is the Manchester Derby weekend. i'm slowly gearing myself up to be mentally spent by Sunday at noon.

hope everyone has a great Halloween. try not to be too big of a prick to the kids knocking on the door. and don't be the asshole that gives something other than candy.

and tomorrow they are saying it will snow...

i tossed and turned all night long last night. i couldn't get comfortable for anything. needless to say, 4 hours of disjointed sleep did me no favors today.

i did catch some of Game 7 of the World Series last night. i'll admit, a smile did creep on my face when the Royals lost. as a Yankees fan, watching George Brett look heartbroken was a great sight to see for me. i don't forget shit, especially the rivalry of my youth between Kansas City and New York. also, winning 3 titles in 5 years is not a dynasty. it's called a good run. go to 5 World Series in 6 years and win 4 of them... that's a dynasty in baseball.

American Horror Story was fucking great last night. i'm interested to see where the show goes for next week.

tonight i will be flipping between The Big Bang Theory and LeBron James returning to Cleveland to play. of course, those are on at the same time. also on at the same time, is the New Orleans Saints game. they are at Carolina in a huge divisional matchup. i really just want to see the reaction to LeBron getting introduced. no basketball game needs to be watched until the last 5 minutes of the game. i've picked against the Saints once again. i figure if they keep winning when i pick against them, i'll gladly accept that loss each week.

found some more great music on NoiseTrade today. i'll provide the links below to some FREE music.

spent a good portion of the morning browsing on Amazon. i was trying to figure out some ideas of what to get my mother and sister for Christmas. i think i found a few good things.

i'll probably be on here early tomorrow. we have another hockey game in Columbus. it's supposed to be snowing on the way home from that. you can imagine how thrilled i am since i do the night driving.

that's all for me. hope you've got your candy ready and the slutty costume picked out for Halloween. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your time.

the doldrums, part 2

just as i thought he would, Janne Karlsson sent me some artwork about the first part of the doldrums. this guy is so fucking talented, i have no idea why he is working with some fucker like me. here's what he came up with:
check out more of Janne's work at http://www.svenskapache.se/ and at Boom Motherfuckers!

that drawing sums up my life from the age of 32 on. today was simply another day for the pile. i got woke up by the phone this morning. it was my mother calling after her doctor's appointment. turns out her shunt isn't working properly. so, next Tuesday i get to drive her back to the doctor's office so she can get an injection that is supposed to start the process of killing off the nerve endings and hopefully will help the shunt to work properly. just the kind of news i wanted to start off the day with. then, this afternoon i took a massive shit. let's just say i fear this type of shit when my back is acting up. you'll understand why when i start talking about cleaning shit off of the carpet later in the day. good times. keep in mind, i hadn't fed the cats or birds yet. i would laugh if i was still capable of that. yet another day where the 8 year old me was right. i'm still looking for the right tree for this noose.

i finally saw a couple of performances on The Voice last night that caught my ear...
hopefully the shows next week have even more...

tonight i'll be watching the first episode of Lucha Underground on the El Rey Network. after that, the night will be all about American Horror Story. i've heard good things about how creepy this episode is going to be. hopefully it is. if it somehow isn't, i might flip over to Game 7 of the World Series. maybe. but probably not.

i'm not sure what the New York Rangers are going to do now that John Moore has been suspended 5 games for his hit in the Minnesota game. personally, i'd call up one of the kids and give them a chance ahead of the 7th defenseman they have right now. time will tell.

i found a wonderful album on NoiseTrade today. i'll post the link to it down below. if you like a little reggae mixed with alternative music, you WILL love this.

i've added the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast to the right hand side of this blog. if you like pro wrestling, i highly recommend it.

hopefully i'll have a better or at the very least, a less shitty day to report about tomorrow. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

a comeback for the ages

i have to admit, when the New York Rangers were down 3-0 last night, i didn't think the game would turn out like it did. they had already lost two players for needless penalties. but, the boys decided to put on a show in the 3rd period. they scored two goals early, but then gave up a fourth goal to Minnesota. i figured that would put an end to any hopes of a victory. ye of little faith. they scored another goal to get back within one. and then with about 4 minutes left, the real fun began. The Duke got his first goal of his NHL career...
and about 30 some seconds later, this happened...
a 5-4 win that i truly never saw coming. that was one of the sweetest victory beers i have had in a long time.

sadly, the Cowboys fucked me out of a chance to win $5,000 last night. i did get a win in one of my fantasy football matches. my picks totally fucking sucked for the week. 8-7 stinks.

and now the injury bug is hitting my fantasy football and hockey teams. good times.

Gotham was fucking awesome last night. it's quickly becoming one of my favorite shows. i caught most of The Voice on YouTube. once again, nothing really jumped out at me. hopefully something will when i watch tonight. Monday Night Raw was pretty good. i would have liked to seen more of Bray Wyatt and Dean Ambrose, but that will hopefully come in due time. i also watched Men in Blazers late last night. funny as always.

other than The Voice tonight, i do believe the NBA season starts tonight. i might watch some of that. hell, might even flip over to some baseball.

i got a ton of free music today. if you are a fan of country music and have iTunes, you might want to check out this link: http://www.icravefreebies.com/2014/10/27/8-free-country-music-songs-downloads/

the cold front has finally moved through here. at least, that's what my bones are telling me. i took a long shower today, trying to feel better. it worked a little.

that's all for me today. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

part 2 of something other than this...

i'm in a pissy mood at the moment. i've got a weird level of pain running through my body at the moment and my nap was a tad bizarre. i'm not sure if it was due to falling asleep to British soccer announcers or that it is the anniversary of Lou Reed's death. ah, the questions of the universe... here's a quick recap of my Sunday.

Manchester United played Chelsea pretty fucking even in the first half. then, Chelsea took control of the game in the second half. when they were up 1-0 as the game was nearing death, i figured this was going to be another game of close, but not quite there just yet. and then...
i could watch that look on the special one's face for the rest of my life. RvP with the goal at the death and United gets a point from Chelsea, 1-1. hopefully the boys use this to fuel the rest of the season.

i did ok in fantasy football yesterday. tonight is a big game. my suicide pick for this week was Dallas. i need them to win and for certain players to put up some decent numbers. my picks didn't do so well this week. mostly because i decided to pick against a certain team to "help" them win.

the New Orleans Saints (that certain team) beat Green Bay last night 44-23. that's more like it.

the Sunday night shows were good. Boardwalk Empire was great. it felt like the series finale was a reward for those of us that watched the entire show. and the final scene was certainly awesome. definitely catch it if you missed it. Total Divas was what it was. i'm interested to see how the show is when it adds two new cast members in January. Last Week Tonight was good. Homeland was good as well. The Affair was a little short for my liking, but certainly had a great ending.

tonight, the clusterfuck gets a little easier. all i have tonight is the knockout rounds on The Voice starting, Monday Night Raw, the New York Rangers playing at home against the Wild, Gotham, and Monday Night Football. CBS has moved The Big Bang Theory back to Monday nights. i'm sure i'll still be on YouTube late tonight to see what i missed.

the weather was windy as hell today. that means we will have storms tomorrow. at least that's what my bones are telling me.

hope everyone had a great weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your time.

some nights feel like they never end...

when i tell you that yesterday was long, i'm not trying to weave a woe is me type story. it's more of a i'm getting too old for this shit type of story. here is a quick recap of the day that felt like it would never end...

El Clasico was pretty good yesterday. i thought Real Madrid truly deserved the win, 3-1. they certainly look like the better team as of right now.

we made it to the Red and Blue game just in time for the men's portion of the festivities. i really think Dayton's fortunes this season will go as far as Jordan Sibert and Dyshawn Pierre want to take them. if Scoochie Smith can be the point guard he showed he was yesterday, this team is going to be sneaky good. and after going to the Elite 8 last season, they won't be sneaking up on anyone.

mom forgot that we needed to go to the store to pick up my drugs after the game. me being the passive/aggressive asshole i am didn't say a word. after being back home for 25 minutes, she remembered. so, we went back out and got my drugs. we also picked up some more cat food. we then decided to go out to eat. of course, that was the plan all along, even though mom didn't remember it. i'm really looking forward to her memory failing more and more in the upcoming years. good times.

we had a good dinner at a local pizza place. got the same waitress we got the last time. a beautiful mixed girl that has a lovey set of big... eyes. you dirty perverts, of course i was talking about her tits. she forgot to put our drinks on the bill. i told mom just to tip her well to make up the difference. mom, the most goody two shoes person on earth, pointed out to the waitress her error and then tipped her well as well. my mother doesn't realize that nice people finish last. you would think after 20 years of doing everyone else's work at the hospital and getting shit on as a reward, she would have a clue.

got home just in time to watch the New York Rangers play up in Montreal. that regular season house of horrors appeared once again. the boys lost 3-1 in a game where they were outplayed for the majority of it. they plan again on Monday back at home against Minnesota. hopefully they play much better.

while that was going on, the Ohio State vs. Penn State game came on. Ohio State was up 17-0 at halftime. sadly, i think most of the team thought the game was over. so, when Penn State tied the game up at 17 with 9 seconds left in the game, i wasn't pleased at all. thankfully, they woke the fuck up in time to win the game, 31-24 in 2OT. of course, i found out this morning that Ohio State's QB played the second half and both overtimes on a sprained knee. that makes things a little more understandable.

of course, during the Ohio State sleepwalking in the second half, i was burning music for my sister. all in all, it wasn't too bad. i made $20 in the process.

my sister did point me to some music from her friend's daughter. i downloaded it last night from Bandcamp and was blown away. scary fucking good indie/ambient/alternative music from a teenager. so, if you like finding some "new" music, check out this... Mick Martinez - Conditions of the Unconditioned.

i missed some of Saturday Night Live last night. i was basically flipping back and forth with the Ohio State game. i did find most of the episode pretty damn funny.

ROH was really good last night. 3 excellent matches.

i might have got 4 hours of sleep last night. i'm sure this will bite me in the ass when i'm trying to watch the late shows tonight.

Manchester United plays Chelsea here in a few hours. i really want United to shock the world and win, but i also know that is most unlikely. i'm planning on watching the game away from my family, as i don't want them to have to endure my misery. hopefully, it won't go that way.

the New Orleans Saints play the late game tonight at home against Green Bay. i'd love to see them get a win, especially against a good team. of course, since it will be on at the same time as the Sunday night shows, i'll be in and out of the game.

tonight is the series finale of Boardwalk Empire. i'm really looking forward to see how they end the series. it is also the mid-season finale of Total Divas. i figure i'll catch that at some point tonight. there's also new episodes of Last Week Tonight, Homeland, and The Affair. if i make it through all that and am still alive, i'll be slightly stunned.

at some point this morning, i need to eat breakfast, feed the cats, pick up and take out the trash, and do the damn dishes. no rest for the wicked my friends.

thanks to anyone who has made it to the end of this drivel. go reward yourself with a cold drink. hope everyone is having a great weekend. thanks for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

reaching for the lotion bottle in your sleep...

i truly enjoy how bizarre my life is at some times. in my shower last night, i knocked off the scab that has formed on my left leg. well, little did i know, i was still bleeding when i went to bed last night. so, i now know how much i toss and turn. plus, i couldn't fall asleep for shit last night. thankfully, the west coast feed of Cinemax had some eye candy on at 6 this morning. 5 minutes later, and i was ready for a good nap.

and i truly know any weekend is going to be great when i wake up to watch Manchester City lose to West Ham.

after i get done with this, i need to feed the animals out here and get that done before El Clasico. i should try to get to the post office as well as i might have a package there waiting for me.

after the soccer match, mom and i will be heading down to UD Arena for some basketball. hopefully there is some decent parking left as we'll be getting there a little late.

after that, we need to swing by the grocery store to get my drugs. i didn't realize i was low until this morning.

i had a very musical evening last night. i watched the documentary on Swedish House Mafia before i saw Sonic Highways on HBO. i knew of the bands they were talking about in the Washington, D.C. punk scene, just never knew the real history of it. so, that was a very good history lesson. plus, the song that the Foo Fighters came up with at the end was fucking great. that's two weeks in a row that i have really enjoyed the show. that makes it must see from now on.

Ohio State plays on the road tonight, at Penn State. that should be a very tough environment for the young Buckeyes, but hopefully i will be drinking a victory beer later tonight.

i do believe Saturday Night Live is new tonight. and i will hopefully still be awake to watch the new episode of ROH.

my sister got in late last night/this morning. amazingly, she was up after about 6 hours of sleep. usually when she comes here she'll sleep a good 9 hours before she decides to get up. i know she wants me to burn some music for her sometime today. so, i'm going to be interested to see where the fuck i squeeze that in.

i will be on here tomorrow morning as Manchester United plays Chelsea at noon. and with all my fantasy football shit to do in the morning so i don't miss the game, i'm going to be pressed for time. basically because i will be glued to the United game. hopefully they shock the world. more on that tomorrow.

i do hope your Friday night has become a good Saturday. have a good stiff drink and only fuck the ones that cough. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your time.

the harvest

the soybeans were taken off today on the farm. that means all of the crops have been harvested. so, hopefully that means a nice check or two will be arriving in the next week or so.

i got excited this morning when i saw the new Run the Jewels album was being given away as a free download. i jumped all over that. and after my fourth time listening to it today, it's fucking awesome. go to http://www.runthejewels.net/ to check it out.

i watched a lot of the NFL game last night. thankfully, i had the WR that Peyton Manning threw the 3 TD's to. that worked out well since my opponent had Peyton. i ended up with 1 more fantasy point on the evening. that will hopefully be a good sign for the weekend.

saw a weird fucking cat today when i was out feeding them. i have never seen one like it out here before. i think it may be a stray kitten or just a shy one that has stayed hidden for months. black and gold with fur like a shag carpet. when i saw it i first thought it was a fucking mini ewok. i went out this afternoon and the cat was still around. that's two strays that have showed up and just stayed in the last month. they're going to be shit out of luck when we move.

i think my sister is coming down here tonight, although i have no clue at what time to expect her. she's here for the weekend. most of the time she'll be with her friends. i think she views the farm as a place to sleep.

mom saw the doctor today. she doesn't have an ear infection. the doctor believes it's something with the shunt. so now the fun really begins.

i'm looking forward to the Foo Fighters show on HBO tonight. if it is anything like the first episode, i will have a new favorite series to watch.

i'm guessing i will be on here in the morning before the latest El Clasico. for those of you who have no fucking clue what i'm talking about, it's Barcelona vs. Real Madrid. after that is over, it's down to UD Arena to watch the Red and Blue Game for the men's and women's teams of Dayton basketball. get home from that and get ready for Ohio State to play at night. another full day of sports. hopefully i'll get some rest because my Sunday is going to be nuts as well. more on that on the weekend.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

keep up the bad fight then...

i had a little conversation with my friend out in California today. even though it was a simple chat on Google+, i could sense the pain she is in. it wouldn't shock me if she ends her life soon. as hard as it is for me to accept that and deal with it, there's a huge part of me that knows she's gone through so much shit that no human ever deserves... she has earned the right to want some peace. i could never give her my blessing to do it, but as i told her today, i will always love her regardless what she decides to do.

so yeah, not my usual day of sports and porn...

i was a busy boy on NoiseTrade once again today. i'll post the links below.

i had to clean the toilets and change out the water filter in the basement. i believe something died down there. usually it's a mouse that falls into the hole where the sump pump is. the insects that live down there love that gift. and the smell of death is one that has scarred this brain forever. between my childhood and living out here on the farm for the last 17 years... the smell of death is as common to me as the smell of flowers. back to the basement... i was cleaning and changing this shit because my sister is coming down for the weekend. and the last thing i really want to hear is my sister bitching about anything. that always boils down to me not having a job and her rubbing her six figure job in my face. good times.

plus, my mother is running a fever. she's got a doctor appointment for tomorrow morning. i'm guessing she might be developing an ear infection. that would explain the hearing aid bothering her so much in the last few days. plus, it could also explain the pain around the shunt. of course, i could simply be hoping for an easy explanation that doesn't involve more MRI's or surgeries.

i did watch American Horror Story last night. it was excellent. hopefully part 2 next week gets even creepier.

there's a big football game on tonight that i will be watching. Denver vs. San Diego. should be a real good game. plenty of fantasy football matchups in this one. i have a couple players going, as do my opponents this week. i picked Denver to win a close one.

my fantasy hockey roster is starting to experience some injuries. thankfully, i'm not afraid to make some big moves. i've got a trick up my sleeve for the next few days. hopefully i will be able to pull it off.

got the season tickets for Dayton basketball today in the mail. i can't expect them to repeat what they did last season (one win away from the Final Four), but i would love to see them have another season that gets them back to the big dance. Saturday is the Red and Blue Game. i'll be interested to see how good the kids look and see which of the upperclassmen are ready to fill the leadership void. should be interesting to see.

the sun actually made an appearance today on the farm. when it wasn't breezy, it actually felt really good for just being 60 degrees. it's supposed to be like this or better for the next three days. hopefully it is.

that's all for me today. i'll be on here sometime tomorrow afternoon. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

the joys of victory...

as i watched the New York Rangers fall behind last night, i was pretty fucking annoyed. but, for the first time this season, they showed some of the character they had last season on their run to the Stanley Cup Final. the Rangers were trailing 3-1 early in the 3rd period. they came back to tie the game in regulation, and then win it in OT. i'll take a 4-3 OT win over the fucking Devils any day of the week. that victory beer tasted sweet. below are some highlights...
you have to love a game winning goal from a defenseman that hardly ever scores... they play again on Saturday night up in Montreal. that is if there isn't anymore shootings up in Canada.

The Voice was good last night. i'm still going with Reagan James to win it, even though i feel like a dirty old man when i watch her perform. she's fucking amazing for 15 years old. the knockout rounds start next week. those should be interesting as the contestants pick the songs they perform. i've seen many a dream die with a bad choice.

i was a busy boy this morning sending out some poems. i had to do a quick change as one of the places i was sending to is currently closed for submissions. luckily, i've been at this long enough that none of that kind of shit throws me off. i sent out 22 poems in total. 5 each to Horror Sleaze Trash and The Southern Review. i sent out 3 each to Pyrokinection, Napalm and Novocain, Dead Snakes, and The Camel Saloon. when i hear back from these places i will pass along the verdicts.

mom and i went out to lunch today. i figured we'd go to the one sports bar she likes as it would be a good test for her hearing aid. let's just say i don't think her hearing aid is going to work out. the scary shit is she thinks her shunt may be acting up. of course, i try to play it cool, but if she's scared and she's the medical professional, what fucking right do i have to try to act like i'm not worried to death? we went to the store afterwards and she started to feel a little funny. not exactly dizzy but just weird. needless to say i drove us home. thank goodness i wasn't speeding when i saw the cop trying to bust drivers for it. and thank goodness i only had 1 beer while at the sports bar.

i watched a little of the champions league while i was at the sports bar. mostly, it was watching Real Madrid put on a show.

tonight i'll be watching American Horror Story and maybe some hockey or baseball. should be a relatively quiet night. of course, it's supposed to get down into the 30's tonight, so i'll definitely hear the furnace running.

that's pretty much all for me today. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

welcome to the doldrums

i had a brief moment of reflection this afternoon, while watching some porn of course, that resulted in 4 simple lines. and i think it pretty much sums up my life at 38.

my asshole is leaking and i have
hair growing in places i can't see
it certainly doesn't come as a surprise
that no one is willing to marry me

for some reason, i feel like Janne Karlsson is going to send me some brilliant artwork based on those 4 lines.

i spent most of the morning fucking around on YouTube, trying to catch up on the stuff i missed last night. saw some of The Voice, it was better than last week but none of them have blown me away yet. saw some of The Big Bang Theory, that show always makes me laugh. i also saw the Boardwalk Empire show i missed last night on HBO. it was mostly the cast and crew going over the show. i'm really going to miss it after this coming Sunday. i also saw the next episode of Video Game High School.

i did have one mini miracle happen for me last night in fantasy football. i came back from being down 14 points to win by 5, all thanks to the Steelers starting RB. my other match finished in a loss. but, i did go 10-5 on my picks. my goal is to get to double digit wins each week. and i'm still alive in the suicide pool. i haven't made it this far without a loss EVER. so, i'm hoping i can keep up that streak.

Gotham was excellent last night. Monday Night Raw had some really good moments. the Mick Foley surprise was great. hopefully the upcoming ppv will have some holy shit moments.

the New York Rangers play at the Devils tonight. hopefully the boys can get another win. i'll be watching that for most of the night.

i am planning to watch some of The Voice tonight.

i think the World Series starts tonight. i won't give a shit unless it is a close game late. then i might watch.

i did get some free music today on iTunes and NoiseTrade. i'll provide some links below.

the weather has been gloomy for most of the day today. i think it's supposed to warm up by the end of the week.

i did write 3 poems last night. first time i have written anything in about 3 weeks. i typed up the poems this afternoon and i really like them. i'm planning to send out some poems tomorrow most likely. these 3 will be going out with the batches in November.

that's all for me today. hope everyone is alive, or at least comfortably numb. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

what happens when the pain no longer produces pleasure...

i went to get on the computer last night and when i sat down in the chair, it immediately, basically went to the floor. it's one of the adjustable chairs. needless to say, my back didn't enjoy that. and today, i happened to lose a chunk of my left leg after hitting it on a piece of furniture. of course, by a chunk i mean i broke the skin. on top of everything, it's raining on and off today. misery isn't a strong enough word for what i'm feeling. of course, i was hoping to be drinking a victory beer right now...

Manchester United played West Brom to a 2-2 draw. United came from behind twice to get the point. hopefully they understand if they can't win on the road they will not win the title and will not finish in the top 4. it was nice to see Fellaini and Blind finally score. they next play Chelsea at home on Sunday. they will have to play much better than today to get anything out of that game.

i need two minor fantasy football miracles tonight to win my matches. i'm not holding my breath.

the Saints lost a game yesterday they controlled for nearly all of it. talk about being crushed. a 24-23 loss when your up 13 points in the 4th quarter is one of those losses that will haunt a team all season long.

thankfully, the New York Rangers played a complete game yesterday, shutting out San Jose 4-0. MSL and Rick Nash scored goals 4 seconds apart in the second period:
and then Kevin Hayes got his first NHL goal to finish off the scoring:
it was The King's 51st career shutout. hopefully they can keep the good times rolling when they play the Devils on Tuesday.

the Sunday night shows were excellent. Boardwalk Empire was brilliant. next week is the series finale. hopefully it goes out with a bang. Total Divas provided me with some laughs and an excuse to turn to the football game. Last Week Tonight was hilarious and informative. Homeland was insane and great once again. The Affair is a brilliant show. the storytelling is top notch, especially how they show the differences between how men and women recall the same events. just brilliant.

of course, i was up at 4 in the morning doing the dishes and drinking a beer. i just love having a bad back.

the guy who farms out here got all the corn off last night. so, hopefully that check will be coming soon.

i got some great music on NoiseTrade today. i'll provide the link below.

tonight is my usual clusterfuck of television. i'm planning on watching as much of Gotham as i can. i do want to check out some of The Voice and The Big Bang Theory. i suppose YouTube will help me with that. Monday Night Raw should be interesting considering it's the last one before the next ppv. and late tonight, i plan on watching the new episode of Men in Blazers. there's only one hockey game on tonight. and i can follow the football game online. so, needless to say i won't be getting any good sleep once again.

i figure i'll be on here tomorrow afternoon. of course, there are saying it is going to rain tomorrow. so, i may be in bed for most of the day, wallowing in pain. i think on some days it would just be easier to be a drug addict and feel nothing.

on that pretty thought, i wish all three of you a fond farewell. i do hope you had a great weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

a cold sunshine

there was a frost advisory for this morning. all i woke up to was cold sunshine. the guy who farms out here got some more of the corn off. he would have got it all off if it wouldn't have started raining. but, he got about 2 truck fulls off. hopefully there's about another 2 + left to take off.

Ohio State destroyed Rutgers yesterday 56-17. they are slowly reaching their potential.

ROH was excellent last night. i really enjoyed the match between Adam Cole and Cedric Alexander.

Nine Inch Nails was great on Austin City Limits. NIN is one of the bands i have always wanted to see live. hopefully i get to do that before i die.

the college football games were nuts as usual. i did catch the ending to the Florida St. and Notre Dame game. i was stunned the refs actually made the right call at the end.

i did get to see the season finale of The Knick finally. another great episode. i can't wait for the next season of that show.

today is my usual crazy shit mix of sports and Sunday night television. the Saints play at Detroit. hopefully they can get a road win. it should be an interesting one. i don't have many fantasy football players playing during the day today. most of them are tonight or on Monday night. so, i'm not expecting any fireworks today. the Rangers play in the late afternoon against San Jose. i'm going to try to catch most of that. they have juggled all the lines up, so i'm really interested to see how the new mix does against a really good team.

and then my usual clusterfuck of Sunday night viewing. Boardwalk Empire starts off my night. and then two episodes of Total Divas. then a piss break/fantasy football update until Last Week Tonight comes on. then, it's over to Showtime to watch Homeland and The Affair. i got some good sleep last night so i think i should be able to make it. of course, a couple of victory beers and all bets are off.

i still have to feed the cats and take the trash down. thankfully, breakfast has agreed with me this morning. but, i'd like to get all that done before noon so i'm going to have to wrap this little party up for now.

i'll be on here tomorrow probably after Manchester United plays in the afternoon.

hope everyone is doing great after their Saturday night of debauchery. of course, that could just be my imagination. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

what to do in a traffic jam...

my patience was once again tested last night while driving home from Columbus. taking over 30 minutes to move 3 miles or so is not exactly what i wanted to be doing after a big meal at Waffle House. i joked with my mother and said that all this construction in the area will be done in one of our lifetimes. she said don't be so sure.

so, we got home about 45 minutes later than i was hoping to last night. i was able to catch the Foo Fighters show on HBO. it was excellent. but, i fell asleep before i could watch The Knick. so, i'm hoping to catch that sometime tonight.

Columbus beat Calgary last night 3-2. the first two periods were rather boring. Calgary found their legs in the third and made it really interesting. our next game up there will be on Halloween. that will be crazy as the Ohio Comic Con will be going on at the same time. parking will be a fucking disaster.

i still need to feed the cats before my lazy ass settles down for a day of sports. i spent the morning bouncing between work on the computer and watching Premier League games. plenty of red cards today, that's for sure.

Ohio State plays Rutgers this afternoon. hopefully i will be drinking a victory beer early this evening.

mom decided she wanted to go to the store by herself. i'm interested to see what she gets. she's not good at sticking to the list. i don't think her hearing aid is going to work for her. it was definitely sensory overload last night at the hockey game.

i believe Nine Inch Nails is on Austin City Limits tonight. so, i'll be watching that before ROH. that should be a fun two hours before i go to bed.

tomorrow is trash day, so i'll be up early getting all that work done before the football games start. so, expect a quickie from me early tomorrow morning.

i do hope everyone is having a great weekend. do check out the two previous posts from today. that's some work i'm really proud of. thanks again for allowing me to waste your precious time.

finally, the weekend...

amazingly, i got close to 6 hours of sleep last night. for me, that's the equivalent of getting almost 10. so, i was wide awake this morning. as i was getting ready to come down the stairs, i noticed 4 deer in the backyard. it was pretty funny as they were grazing along and then came up to the fence. i imagined that one of them said, who the fuck put this here. 5 minutes later, they were still figuring out how to get around it. as entertaining as that may be, i got on the computer as i wanted to get my shit done early this morning.

the Rangers won last night, 2-1 in a shootout. watching it was like trying to pull teeth. they were playing a team of guys that should be in the AHL, and were getting outplayed by a mile. but, 2 points is 2 points. here are the only highlights of the game that mattered:
i believe their next game is on Sunday against San Jose. they will have to play much better if they want to get a win in that one.

my mother was crushed by the Jets losing last night. she didn't expect them to win, but to get that close... i think i have created a monster now. she never cared about sports until my passion for them overtook the house. i laugh when my mother starts cussing at the television now. speaking of cussing, my running back from New England basically did fucking nothing last night. so, i'm trailing in both of my fantasy football matches. good times.

in a few hours i'll be on the way to Columbus to watch the Blue Jackets take on Calgary tonight. i have a guy on my fantasy team from each team. i do hope it is a little more exciting than the last one. since the Rangers aren't playing tonight, i won't be looking at the out of town scoreboard as much. not sure where we'll be eating after the game with my sister, but since she's driving, i suppose it's wherever she takes us.

hopefully i'll get home in time to watch the season finale of The Knick on Cinemax and the premiere of the Foo Fighters show on HBO. i get the feeling i'm going to be up late tonight.

thankfully, Manchester United doesn't play until Monday and Ohio State plays at 3:30 pm, so i'll be able to get some sleep.

i should be on here tomorrow before the Ohio State game, unless mom wants to go to the store and then who knows when i'll squeeze in a post.

hope everyone has a great weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

testing every ounce of my patience...

here's a little slice of the last 18 hours of my life... i was up late last night doing some poetry work. i came up with 31 poems to send out. now, only 20 are going to get sent out here soon. decided to do a little future planning with some poems that will get sent out in 2015. basically, i wanted to thin out the unpublished file a little more. i will hopefully send the 20 poems out next week sometime. the reason i say hopefully will be revealed here in a bit. i got into bed around 3 in the morning. right as i was falling asleep, the muse calls around 4 am. she's crying and upset. i've lived long enough to know it is best to just shut up and listen. she gets it all out (more guy troubles) and she eventually has me pray for her. that was interesting to say the least. and just as i think i'm going to fall back asleep, the muse calls back two more times. so, now i'm up as i don't want the phone to wake up my mother. sure enough, the muse doesn't call back again. figures. so, i get maybe 2 hours of sleep total and get on the computer. and sure enough, it has a virus. just my fucking luck. so, from roughly 8:30 am to 2:30 pm, Frontier Communications took their sweet ass time getting rid of the virus. if i could ever help anyone bankrupt that company and watch every incompetent fucker they employ die a slow death, i'll be the first asshole in line.

the cats weren't exactly happy that i was feeding them nearly 3 hours later than usual. i was pretty sure one of them would try to take a shit on me, but i was wrong. i did give them a little extra, just in case one of those fuckers were thinking about revenge.

needless to say i've spent the last 3 hours trying to catch up on everything. i finally achieved that in time to try to write this before the hockey game comes on tonight. good times.

American Horror Story: Freak Show was excellent last night. i really enjoyed this episode much more than the first one this season. i'm really looking forward to the episode next week.

the New York Rangers play Carolina tonight. this is about as close to a MUST win game as you can have in October. hopefully the defense plays much better tonight. and i would like to have a victory beer tonight as well.

i will be paying a bit of attention to the football game tonight as i have a running back for New England. hopefully that will start my fantasy football week off on the right foot.

i'll be in Columbus tomorrow night for another hockey game. it will be the last one for us for a little while. i believe my sister is trying to figure out where we'll be having dinner after the game. that should be interesting for me as i won't be drinking. i have night driving duties for my mother.

so, i'm planning on being on here earlier tomorrow. maybe late morning or so. of course, that all depends on what madness happens to me tonight. i'm hoping for a quiet one.

that's all for me. i need to get going. i've got to get my rosters checked and it seems like my email fills up constantly now. how i wish it was people wanting to give me money.

thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

one day the sun will rise again...

i felt like i did the right thing yesterday by waiting to leave for the hockey game. and for the first 5 minutes of the drive, i was right. and then it started to rain. and rain, and rain some more. it rained all the way to my sister's condo. and then it rained all the way to the arena. thankfully, my sister knows her way around Columbus. we avoided most of the traffic and got to the arena in plenty of time for the game. more on the game in a bit.

it rained for about 1/3 of the drive home last night. and it has rained on and off all day long here. to say i'm a bit gloomy and in pain would be an understatement. though, i did achieve a bit of joy by shooting my load into the middle of my chest earlier today. enjoy that visual as you read the rest of this.

the Blue Jackets lost to Dallas 4-2. i had a pretty good time, mostly because the 2 goals Columbus scored were by the guy on my fantasy team. though, my mood went to shit in the third period as i noticed the scoreboard and what was happening in the Rangers game. more on that in a moment. the next game we go to is on Friday. they are playing Calgary. i'll have fantasy interests on both of the teams that night. i did get to feel like i knew what i was talking about when i was telling my sister about the best players on Dallas. they scored all 4 of the goals.

the Rangers lost to the Islanders 6-3. thank fucking god i didn't watch that shit. Rick Nash scored 2 more goals, so that's really helping my fantasy team. but my goalie is fucking killing me. i know he starts off every season a bit slow... but giving up 6 goals in back to back games is a bit much. of course, after reading the game reports, his defense is doing him no favors. they play again on Thursday. maybe they will get a fucking win.

i watched a bit of The Voice on YouTube today. once again, none of the battles really blew me away. hopefully the good shit comes next week.

we ate at Waffle House last night around midnight. i felt sorry for the black woman working there. the town we live in has hardly any minorities. and the two white cooks weren't saying a fucking word to her. not even boring work chit chat. if i wasn't so fucking hungry i would have whipped out the charm... but the weather is doing me no favors.

i'll be watching a little hockey tonight, maybe some baseball, and eventually American Horror Story. that will get over in time for me to flip over to Foo Fighters week on Letterman.

i got most of the guys i wanted in fantasy football. now, i will have to come up with a plan to beat two opponents that are way better than me. hell, one is still undefeated. i have a feeling i'm going to come up short this week. hopefully my picks are good. i'm on a bit of a hot streak with those.

i'd like to go through my file of unpublished poems tomorrow and figure out what i'm going to send where. i'm hoping to send out some more submissions next week sometime.

that's all for me today. hope the weather is better wherever the fuck you may be. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

a fresh slice of hell...

we've been battered with storms more or less for the last 12 hours. mostly just high winds but no damage that i can tell. the rain has been killing my back though. the last line moved through here about 30 minutes ago. i'm hoping it will be out of the area when we drive to Columbus in 45 minutes or so.

i'm not looking forward to the drive given the wind. now, if we don't come across too many 18 wheelers, it should be fine. but i know how this state is. construction areas, sleepy truck drivers, accidents. my fingers are fucking crossed.

the guy who farms out here did take off some of the corn before the storms hit. i'm guessing he needed some to fill up a truck. but, the harvest season has begun.

i did watch most of Gotham last night. excellent as usual. Monday Night Raw could have been so much better. i'm blaming it on lazy fucking writers. i caught most of The Voice on YouTube. i thought a couple of the battles were good but nothing blew me away. i'm going to miss the show tonight, so i'll be relying on YouTube again. The Big Bang Theory was pretty good last night. i caught that on YouTube after i watched the new episode of Video Game High School. one of my guilty pleasures on YouTube where i allow my inner geek to have some fun.

the Rangers play the Islanders tonight in a game where i would love to see the Rangers defense look much better than the last 2 games. i'll follow the game up in Columbus at the Blue Jackets game. thankfully, our seats on the club level aren't that far from the scoreboard for out of town results.

i'm hoping the game tonight is entertaining. maybe some goals, maybe some fights. maybe not as long a line in the restroom, etc. etc.

i won both of my fantasy football matches last night. now, i need to pull off some waiver wire magic as i have another bye week that's going to take out some of my good players.

i need to get in the shower so i'm going to cut this short. if anything interesting happens tonight, i might be on here later. if not, i'll do a nice long recap tomorrow. especially if i'm eating at Waffle House or Steak 'n Shake at 11 pm or later once again.

hope everyone is doing good. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

exhausted

i didn't sleep well last night at all. not sure if it was what i was watching or the impending rain that kept me up. needless to say, i woke up this morning and felt like there was about 150lbs. of bricks on my back. like i told my buddy over the weekend, when it rains i go from being 38 to 83.

it was nice to have Paul over to watch some football yesterday. we jumped from game to game before settling on watching the Bengals game. he's a fan of them. he certainly wasn't thrilled when the game ended in a tie. but, the game going late got him out of grocery shopping, so he wasn't that upset. i'll probably see him again in two weeks when he doesn't have any kids again.

i did pretty well picking the games yesterday. both of my fantasy teams are leading going into tonight's game. i don't like my chances of winning, even with the players i have going tonight. i'll know by late tonight how it all shakes out.

the Rangers played like shit once again last night, losing 6-3 to Toronto. The King got pulled in the second period. the defense looks horrible right now. i've been watching hockey too long to panic, but this shit has to change soon. they play the Islanders tomorrow night. i won't get to see it as i'll be in Columbus to watch the Blue Jackets face the Dallas Stars.

the Sunday night shows were pretty damn good last night. Boardwalk Empire was great. 2 of the main characters got killed off, which took me by surprise. there's only two episodes left in the series. i have a feeling it's going to go out with a bang. Total Divas had me laughing, mostly because of how stupid they make the show. Last Week Tonight was a rerun, so i caught a little nap. i woke up in time to watch Homeland. it was great as usual. after that, i watched the first episode of The Affair. i think i'm really going to like this show. plenty of sex, some good story telling and a great cast.

tonight is clusterfuck Monday on television. the battle rounds start on The Voice. Monday Night Raw is in Atlanta. i need to keep an eye on Monday Night Football. i will try to watch most of Gotham, while hopefully catching The Big Bang Theory on YouTube. of course, i think mom won a free month of Hulu Plus at McDonald's, so maybe i'll watch it on that. who knows. there's also some baseball and hockey tonight. i guess i should get another nap in soon.

i won my week on fantasy hockey, 6-4. i'm in third place in the league to start out. better than i thought it was going to be that's for sure.

it's been unseasonably warm here today, around the mid 70's. been a painful mix of a little sun and a ton of clouds. my back is telling me that there is more rain on the way. at least i can turn the furnace off for a few days. that will save a few bucks.

i'll probably be on here tomorrow morning sometime. i have no clue when we're driving up to Columbus tomorrow. mom took the week off. i don't blame her, she has 10 weeks of vacation. she might as well use them. until then my friends...

hope everyone had a great weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

a wasted Saturday night

before i get a little pissy in my review of the Rangers game last night, let me pat myself on the back for a second. this blog has now passed 1,000 posts and 20,000 views. not too shabby considering i had no fucking clue what i was doing when i started this. THANKS to everyone who has helped along the way. hopefully this blog will continue to get better and bigger in the future.

now, on to the fucking horror show in Columbus last night. the game was a sell out. the crowd was intensely into the game. i might have enjoyed them if the Rangers weren't playing like shit. they started off flat with no fucking jump at all. needless to say, the 5-2 loss was exactly what they fucking deserved. the only thing i liked about last night was when i was waiting in line for a urinal to open up. every fucker in there saw i was wearing a New York Rangers shirt. every drunk fucker wanted to say something but all of them, and i do mean ALL of them literally bit their fucking tongues and didn't say a word. one of the few joys i have left in life is my ability to intimidate people without saying a fucking word.

the Rangers play their home opener tonight against Toronto. hopefully they know the effort will have to be about 100000000000000000000000% greater tonight. i'll try to watch as much of the game as i can.

we have two more hockey games up in Columbus later on this week. against Dallas on Tuesday and Calgary on Friday night. i guess i'll get some practice with night driving. and hopefully i will enjoy these games more since i'll have no dog in the fight.

looks like i missed an incredible Saturday for college football. figures.

i did catch some of Saturday Night Live this morning on YouTube. i did laugh really hard at a few of the bits. looks like Bill Hader did a great job as host.

we did get home in time last night to catch ROH. helps that i only look at the speed limit in this state as a suggestion, not a law. ROH was excellent, as usual. i enjoyed the rumble match. and i'm happy they finally showed Jay Briscoe winning the title from Elgin.

my buddy Paul is coming over in a little bit to watch some football. after my sleepless night and truly needing to get some aggression out; i hope today is a hard hitting mess. plus, it would help if my fantasy team did well.

i didn't get the guy i wanted in fantasy hockey. that was how i started off my morning. good times.

i have trash to pick up and cats to feed. so i'll try to sum this shit up quickly.

i'll hopefully get to watch Boardwalk Empire, Total Divas, Homeland, and The Affair tonight. not sure if i will make it through all of them without a nap this afternoon. that won't be happening though.

i might post some of the pictures from last night later on in the week. but, given that they lost, don't count on it.

hope everyone had a better Saturday than me. and hopefully, your Sunday will be good as well. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

the long weekend...

i woke up early this morning, too early if you ask me. but, i knew i had plenty of shit to do before i embark on the trip up to Columbus for some hockey. most of that is done, thankfully.

i did watch Landon Donovan's final game last night with team USA. he nearly scored, which would have brought the house down. he did help set up the only goal scored for the USA. they ended up drawing with Ecuador 1-1. a great lesson of what happens when you don't take advantage of your opportunities. but, all the praise that Landon got and it still getting is deserved. he has taken soccer to heights in this country that have never been seen before. hopefully all of us are better off for that.

The Knick was excellent last night. if anyone wants to know what being an addict is like, last night's episode should be exhibit A. i can't wait to see what happens on the season finale next week.

instead of watching college football today, i'll be on the way to Columbus to see the New York Rangers take on the Blue Jackets. we got an email from my sister yesterday warning us about all the other shit going on (pregame, outside, etc) so we should get there early. it's windy and chilly, so hopefully it warms up nicely. though, the advantage to being fat and hairy is the cold doesn't bother me at all. i'm more thinking about my mother.

i doubt i will be home in time to watch Saturday Night Live. i'll have to hope for a little YouTube help on that one. hopefully i will get to catch the new episode of ROH late tonight.

my buddy Paul is coming over for some football on Sunday. more or less, about 5 hours of us sitting around shooting the shit and bitching about our fantasy football teams.

i messed around with my fantasy hockey roster last night. nothing quite like sitting at the computer at 1 in the morning wondering which guy do i take... i usually will quickly remind myself of an old adage.. think long, think wrong.

i need to get a little lunch in me and get a shower. i will probably be back on here early Sunday morning to provide the aftermath of the game tonight. i'm really hoping i get to enjoy a victory.

hope everyone has a great weekend. enjoy it. have a few drinks. fuck a beautiful person. laugh like a lunatic and don't forget to hide the evidence well.

thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

a victory beer solves everything...

there was more persistent drizzle today. but. my back didn't feel nearly as bad as it did yesterday. i'm guessing it was the victory beer.

the New York Rangers started their season off with a tough task, win in St. Louis. thankfully, they did just that. the top line was brilliant and the goaltending was top notch as well. a big 3-2 win to start the season.
that's the first goal of the season by Rick Nash. his next one was the game winner...
i'll get to see them play tomorrow night in Columbus. two undefeated teams in a building where i don't think i have ever watched the Rangers win in person. hopefully that changes tomorrow. the backup goalie is playing. who knows, maybe that's a good thing.

i picked the football game right last night. sadly, my WR didn't do much of anything in the game. so, i know damn well i'm swimming upstream in a river of shit in that matchup now.

mom changed up her plans today and went into work. so, i changed up mine and got my haircut today. the old guy that has been cutting my hair since damn near my birth did a pretty good job. i can't stand when my hair gets over my ears. it drives me nuts. so i basically get it really close on the sides and a fucking mess up on top.

tonight will be the final national team game for Landon Donovan as the USA plays Ecuador. hopefully he goes out in style. it will be sad to see him leave but he gave us all enough memories to last forever...

after i get done wiping my tears and hopefully drinking a victory beer, i'll be watching The Knick on Cinemax.

did a little poetry work as well today. i think i may have found another place to send some work to. other than that, it was alot of porn and suddenly realizing i'm getting low on lotion.

enjoy that visual.

i'll be on here sometime before i leave to make the trip to Columbus with my mother tomorrow. i hope everyone has a great Friday night and weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

not exactly what i was hoping for...

i woke up this morning and nearly every bone in my body was aching. i figured it was raining. even after taking my pills, that agony has lasted all day long. add on top of that, mom decided to work from home today, and all plans i had for today were thrown out the window.

i didn't start my laundry until mom got done with her conference calls. her hearing is really starting to go. i figured a washer and dryer wasn't going to help her any. and given the pain i've been in all day long, the only time i went outside was to feed the cats. so, i'm thinking i may get a haircut Saturday morning. i would say tomorrow but mom has already told me we have a road trip up north to go on. i think she has to get something from a doctor up in Troy. that basically means more driving for me on the highway in the rain. i'm so looking forward to that.

add to that misery some poems being rejected... i heard back from Carolina Quarterly on the poems i sent back in April. they have decided to pass on them. so, i now have 6 poems that i really like to send out to different places. what i can't stand is how thick my unpublished file is getting. i guess i need to seek out some new places to send to.

so, since i was indoors most of the day, i found some awesome music on NoiseTrade this afternoon. i'll post the links below in the music section where you can find the FREE music.

American Horror Story was good last night. there was just enough blood and gore to keep me interested. just enough. i'm really hoping the next few episodes get much better and faster paced. my old ass is usually seeking a nap around 10 pm. perhaps that's why i'm up to 3 am...

tonight the New York Rangers start their season against St. Louis. i'll be glued in to that. hopefully they get off to a better start than they did last season. i'm going to be really interested to see how the new pieces fit in, especially since i will be seeing them on Saturday night in Columbus.

at the same time that the Rangers are on, i'll be paying a little attention to the NFL game. i have a WR playing for the Texans. i've picked the Colts to win tonight. all i really want is for my WR to do better than the "experts" are thinking he will. my fantasy football teams are in the mid-week injury scare mode. it's slightly driving me nuts. (stop laughing)

i did watch a little soccer in Europe this afternoon. watching Spain lose did bring a bit of joy to my world. but only for a minute or two.

i have no clue when i'll get on here tomorrow. maybe after the adventure with my mother. i think we have to go to the store as well. it's supposed to rain for much of tomorrow, just like it did today. i'm not sure how long i can play the martyr and not start taking the hard shit to take away the pain.

i certainly know i won't be moving to the Pacific Northwest or a rain forest any time soon.

thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

let the freak show begin...

i decided i better let myself cool down after my little adventure today. the way some of the assholes out there were driving, i thought the lord might be telling me NOW is the time to start running motherfuckers off of the road. but, i was in my mother's SUV, so that wasn't going to happen. now, if i was in my shitty truck, i might be in jail right now.

but, on the bright side of life, i made $41 selling some music off today. that means i can actually get a haircut before the weekend comes. plus, i might just have enough left over to have a beer at the hockey game.

i didn't watch much on television last night. some PBS, a little baseball, some of The Voice recap and that was about it.

tonight is the start of the NHL season. i'll be flipping between games until 10 pm. then, i'll be watching the new season of American Horror Story. it looks like it's going to be really fucking weird, so i'm guessing i'm really going to enjoy it.

my fantasy hockey lineup is in order. i'm going to be really interested to see how they start the season. i've got some kids on the team that haven't exactly proven themselves at the NHL level just yet. i'm hoping they get off to a good start as i don't want to spend the first month rebuilding my team like i needed to last season. plus, after 2 straight years of losing in the finals, i'm really hoping to get that shitty taste out of my mouth.

i'm holding my breath over a fantasy football injury scare today. when you hear you best WR was carted off the practice field this afternoon, you know it's not good. i do have options to replace him if he can't play this Sunday, but i'd rather not have to do that. fingers are crossed...

so it looks like my tomorrow will be a morning of laundry, a haircut in the afternoon, and the start of the New York Rangers season in the evening. i'll squeeze in a blog post in there somewhere. i'm guessing the morning as i'm waiting for my underwear to get clean.

enjoy that visual...

the cats didn't look pleased with me today when i fed them 2 hours later than i usually do. i was busy burning music. i gave them a little extra. i am pleased that the young ones have realized how important water is for them. of course, that probably means the little fuckers are going to make it through the winter.

for some reason, mom brought home Chinese food for lunch today. and guess what, there was so much, that is what i'm having for dinner as well. sesame chicken. i'll have to pair it with something. perhaps a strong beer...

there was a young girl in this area that committed suicide at school the other day. i have a good feeling i know what i'm going to be writing about in the coming days. so, here's my little warning to all the editors out there... get ready for some fucking DARK poetry.

that's all for me today. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your time.

rainy days and me don't get along...

i went out to feed the cats today and it was drizzling. by the time i got out to the barn most of them stay in, it was pouring. thankfully, i was wearing a hoodie so i wasn't going to get fucking drenched. but, bending down to put in food and water wasn't much fun.

Monday Night Raw was very hit and miss last night. the parts that did hit though, were fucking great. The Rock coming back out of nowhere to confront Rusev and Lana was awesome. i love when i can mark out like a kid at something i've been watching for more than 35 years. Dean Ambrose was fucking awesome last night. that guy is going to be a legend by the time his career is over.

The Voice was pretty good. i caught most of it on YouTube.

Gotham was great last night. the ending was fucking perfect. i love this show.

The Big Bang Theory was pretty good last night. i caught most of that on YouTube late last night.

Men in Blazers was pretty funny last night.

i have no clue what i'm going to watch tonight. maybe some baseball, maybe some PBS. maybe i'll do the smart thing and get some fucking sleep.

i did win my fantasy football match last night. i quit watching the game when Seattle's kicker got me the points i needed to win. i've got some tricky roster decisions to make for this upcoming week. needless to say i'll be up late tonight to see if i get lucky in waivers or not. i need some running backs immediately.

mom and i went to Waffle House tonight for dinner. i figure that beats fast food for the evening. then, we stopped by the store in town. i always love the looks i get when i'm in there. like they haven't seen some bearded dude wearing a black Gremlins shirt before.

i need to get some music together to sell sometime tomorrow. hopefully it won't be raining as i don't want to drive my truck that far in the rain. hopefully i can make enough money to get a fucking haircut before i go to the hockey game this weekend. considering i'll be wearing the Rangers colors in an enemy building, i'd like to look my best while being an asshole.

that's pretty much all for me. i'll be back on here tomorrow after i have a little adventure. of course, if for some reason that doesn't happen, i'll be on here in the afternoon as usual.

thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your time.

where do the hours go...

we had a nice thunder and lightning show here last night. so when i woke up this morning and my back was tighter than normal, i figured it must have rained overnight. sure enough. it's struggled to get to 60 degrees today. the seasons have officially changed.

the New York Rangers made their final cuts today. i'm really happy that a few of the kids have made the roster. of course, with Stepan being injured, everything will change when he gets back. i'll have to try to remember to take my camera when i see them play in Columbus on Saturday.

i did pretty damn good picking NFL games yesterday. if Seattle wins tonight, i'll go 12-3 for the week. that's a nice rebound from last week. i have won one of my fantasy matches by 17 points. i'm trailing the other by 2 points, but i have Seattle's kicker tonight. so, hopefully that will be another win. sort of amazing if it does happen as i had two players get zero points yesterday.

the New Orleans Saints won in OT yesterday, 37-31. as entertaining as it was frustrating, i was happy to have that victory beer after that one. i truly needed it.

the Sunday night shows were excellent. Boardwalk Empire had a nice little twist at the end of it that should set up the next few weeks. The Strain was brilliant. and it ended with the perfect cliffhanger for next season. Total Divas was interesting for me, mostly because of the behind the scenes details with Daniel Bryan's injuries. Last Week Tonight was funny and eye opening at the same time. and finally, Homeland was great. the show certainly started a little slow but quickly picked up the pace that then lasted for the next 90 minutes. next week should be good.

tonight is another clusterfuck on television for me. i'll hope that YouTube helps for what i miss on The Big Bang Theory and The Voice. i'm hoping to watch most of Gotham and Monday Night Raw. then, i'm hoping to catch the Men in Blazers show at midnight. and sometime in between all that, watch a little baseball and football. the Elvis wall of televisions would be good for tonight.

my back has been really in misery since i did the dishes this morning. i don't think i pulled anything or anything like that... i just think the weather is kicking my ass again. hopefully i can get a good stretch in here soon.

well, i need to go do some fantasy hockey homework and think about what we're doing for dinner tonight.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.
