welcome to the end...

of the weekend, of the month...

quick recap... got a big storm yesterday that really beat up the corn. nothing too bad, but it certainly doesn't look good. wasn't much on tv last night, so i watched some documentaries.

today was all about getting the trash picked up and down to the road and getting the animals fed before all the sports came on.

i did watch a good bit of Italy vs. Uruguay in the Confederations Cup. a great game with Italy winning 3-2 on penalty kicks. in the final of the tournament, Spain got their asses handed to them by Brazil, 3-0.

i didn't watch much of the NASCAR race today, maybe flipped to it a few times only. mostly because i watched a ton of the NHL Draft. i didn't mind what the New York Rangers did with their picks. they mostly got guys that could help them down the line, like 3 to 4 years from now. that's what happens when you have no picks in the first 2 rounds.

the Yankees are now in 4th place in the division as they just got swept by Baltimore. thankfully, i only watched 2 innings all weekend long of them. they play tomorrow in Minnesota. if they lose that series, say hello to a sunken ship.

i did watch Ray Donovan this evening on Showtime. i really enjoyed it. i do believe this series will have some legs.

lastly, the episode of ROH last night was fucking brilliant. i really need to get to a live show one of these days.

not sure what i'm doing tomorrow as my morning ritual (The Dan Patrick Show) is on vacation for the next 2 weeks. i guess i might actually hit the bank and the post office before noon. i'd love to sleep in but apparently, i don't sleep anymore.

that is all. i hope everyone is great.

i was hoping to avoid all of this

today was/is one of those days where my mind is in one of those really weird spaces. the daughter of the woman that molested me is getting married today. at the surface it's really no big deal to me. peel back the onion and then you enter the absolute mind fuck zone. i was hoping to avoid it, but i knew damn well, there is a prick asshole writer inside of me that loves this shit. so yeah, i wrote 4 poems today. and honestly, i think they are all really good. i got a feeling i might have a big submission or two going out in early July.

the Yankees managed to lose a 3-0 lead last night to lose 4-3. i of course didn't see any of the bad stuff as my sister had taken over the television and i didn't feel like taking my lazy fat ass to the other room or upstairs to watch the game. maybe if they were better this year... so i watched Dateline i think, or something like that. i was doing a word search so i wouldn't pick an argument. thankfully, the Yankees are blacked out for me tonight.

in my futile attempt to avoid my mind today, i watched a little tennis. i even rolled coins. to put it bluntly, nothing fucking worked.

i need to get in a nice long shower before the next round of storms hit.

not exactly sure what i'll be watching tonight other than ROH and Big Brother After Dark. i'm not exactly thrilled with the plan the powers that be in the house have for the first elimination. i can see the logic but sadly, i don't think these people have truly watched the show. you leave someone in the house after you had the chance to get rid of them and it will always come back to haunt you. and when that someone is production's little darling, i do hope they are ready to be fucked for the next few months.

a big thank you to Frontier Communications for the whole 5 days or so the internet actually worked decently. lets just say today it's back to being a big old piece of shit.

i may have some good news to share about my book, Sofisticated White Trash, in the coming days. fingers are crossed as it may involve a little exposure overseas.

if you happen to follow this blog via email, please shoot me an email and let me know. i want to see if i can do a little something for the hell i put you people through. besides, this rag has been around for more than a year now. much longer than i thought it would last.

a big sports day tomorrow with the Confederations Cup coming to an end and the NHL Draft. not sure when i will do a post. i want to give the new Showtime show Ray Donovan a chance. so i'm guessing it could be a late night rambler. besides, i do believe the Yankees are on Sunday Night Baseball as well. no sleep for the wicked...

that's all for today... peace and chicken grease.

bring on the weekend

i got a call this afternoon from my mechanic. my truck was done. totally didn't expect that. got it home now and honestly, feels like a different truck. totally drives like it is new. that should make my life a little easier.

i had the misfortune of calling the muse today. here's a little glimpse to how that went:
rings 4 times
-Yes
- hey, did you happen to call here a little bit ago?
- I most certainly did not
- oh, sorry, i thought from the caller id you might have
- Nope
- so, how are you doing?

15 seconds of silence and then a click.

i just love a woman who puts in more effort to carry a grudge than to be civil, especially when that grudge involves me. i think i may have an indication on how unlikely it will be to see that $100 she owes me. good times.

i watched a glorious soccer match yesterday between Spain and Italy in Confederations Cup play. Spain won 7-6 on penalty kicks. hats off to Italy for making Spain sweat as long as they did. that sets up a huge final between Spain and Brazil in Brazil. a true warm up for the World Cup next year. the final is on Sunday.

the Yankees laid an absolute turd yesterday losing 2-0 to Texas. only got 2 damn hits and the starter pitched a complete game in less than 100 pitches. at least tonight's game has started out much better.

i watched most of the NBA Draft last night. was kind of funny as it was a great night for the fans to boo David Stern one last time. so glad to see that prick finally leave. i watched that up until...

2 great episodes of Wilfred last night. to see one of my all time crushes in Gina Gershon on the show was a blast. i can't tell you the number of times i have fucked that woman in my dreams.

and now for an odd transition...

my sister is down here for the weekend i guess. i believe there is a wedding or something. i don't know. i don't get invited to any of this shit. not that i would want to be either...

and to top it all off, got another check from doing some surveys in the mail today. so, a little bigger deposit to make at the bank on Monday. if it's open that is. i have no idea how any of these fuckers are working around the July 4th holiday coming up.

hope everyone has a great weekend.

ready for the summer blues

i watched Big Brother 15 last night. hard to believe i've been watching this shit since season 8. here's a few thoughts on it, i actually did not hate this cast as much as i thought i would. they seem pretty funny and cool so far. so, i'm a little more hopeful than normal they won't bore me to death this summer. the 3 people nominated twist is going to make the season a little more eventful, especially if the person nominating the third nominee really does stay anonymous. as for Big Brother After Dark, i really can't stand the fact that it is censored. it's 2013. who the fuck wants to watch a show that starts at midnight that is censored. the one saving grace is the show is commercial free. that tends to make the 2 hours fly by a little faster. if my past history is any indication, i will hate this show in a few weeks but keep watching.

i got an email from the muse last night that more or less indicated that she was not interested in a friendship that didn't revolve around her completely. so, that's that. it really sucks, as she was a good egg. i'll give her credit though, only woman to ever break my heart twice. i'll be interested to see if she pays me back the $100 she owes me. i've lived long enough to know not to expect to ever see it, but stranger things have happened. on the positive though, my afternoons look pretty free now.

i'd like to issue a preemptive apology to all the editors and publishers for the drivel i'll most likely be writing for the next few weeks. and i know some mother fucker just muttered under their breath, as opposed to all the other drivel you have written over the years.

the Yankees made way too many mistakes to win last night. first time they lost when scoring 5 or more runs. they lost 8-5. they play the last game of the home stand here in a little bit. i'd love to see them win today as i really need a victory beer.

from the baseball today i will go right into Confederations Cup soccer, which should lead into the NBA draft and right into Wilfred this evening on FX.

i had a moment of unintentional comedy yesterday. i put out this welcome sign my mother has. but, i put it out so you can only read it as you are leaving. i never noticed that until she said something. i played it off like i intended it that way. i'll have to take a picture sometime over the weekend.

i also need to take a picture of the bird nest right above one of the outside lights. maybe get lucky enough to catch a bird in it as well. and hopefully without stepping in or getting shit on.

for any of you Radiohead fans, i highly suggest going over to noisetrade.com to download a live performance presented by Paste.com. it's from 1995 and is amazing.

my fingers are crossed that i'll get a phone call tomorrow saying my truck is fixed. my gut tells me it's not likely, but my gut also has shit for brains.

until tomorrow...

with a little thunder outside

we actually have got some rain today. no violent winds (yet) and no torrential downpours (yet)... so, all in all, not as much rain as i would have liked but we definitely needed what we got.

my back has been in misery for most of today. i did take a good, long hot shower that seemed to do the trick a little. that all came before a phone call from the muse. after listening to a story of a drunken make out with an older man, she decided it was a good time to show me (without knowing it) what a one sided friendship actually looks like. one of the better hang ups i have had in quite some time. not sure what is next, and i'm not sure i really care at the moment. i've had so many "friends" let me down in the last few years that i really don't see the point anymore.

i did watch a good portion of the Brazil vs. Uruguay match today in the Confederations Cup. Brazil won 2-1. that was a must win by them. i really hope Spain wins tomorrow as that should set up one great finale.

the Yankees last night had their first walk off of the season, 4-3. Ichiro hit the 4th solo home run by the team. of course, that great win was overshadowed by A-Rod and Cashman getting into it over rehab and whatnot. and then of course the news comes down today that Tex needs season ending wrist surgery. smoke and mirrors are just about the only way this team will make the playoffs this year.

i guess i know one tight end i will be avoiding in the upcoming NFL fantasy drafts. talk about pissing away some talent.

check out episode 60 of the Sam Roberts Show Online. you can find it on iTunes, Stitcher, and by going to notsam.com. well worth a listen and do help him out if you can.

Deadliest Catch last night was great, as usual. i really enjoyed the pregame show as well. i really wished Freddie would have whipped that greenhorn's ass last night.

tonight, weather permitting, will be a little of the Yankees, a little Big Brother, perhaps some local news and then Big Brother After Dark. which, for some fucking reason is on the TV Guide network, which i believe i have never watched in my life. i'll have to see if i even have it on DIRECTV. if i do, there will be my new destination at midnight until this cast just bores me to death. i'm hoping that doesn't happen.

quick critter update: the groundhog has returned and somehow, another suet feeder has gone missing. if i had the money i would get some night vision cameras and actually figure out what the fuck is happening. on the bright side, the less feeders we have, the more money we can save by not buying as much food for the animals.

congrats to all my gay friends. now, go out and get married and become miserable like most of my married friends.

one miserable Tuesday

took my truck in this morning to get fixed and got a phone call from the mechanic around noon. apparently my power steering was leaking bad, both of my front brakes are fucked and both wheels are fucked as well. he was a bit shocked that i was able to drive it there at all. i really can't wait to see how much all of this is going to cost. and there's a really good chance i'll be without a vehicle until next week. joy.

throw in a pointless argument with the muse this morning and weather that is hot and miserable; and you can surely imagine my mood.

which is really sad as i was overjoyed beyond belief last night at how the Stanley Cup was decided. to watch Boston blow a 2-1 lead in the last minute or so of a game at home that they needed to win to force game 7 was as shocking as it was purely fucking beautiful. congrats to Chicago on being the best team all season long.

now i can start turning my attention to the NBA and NHL drafts and baseball. the Yankees play against Texas tonight. not sure if i really want to watch or not.

i will be watching Deadliest Catch this evening.

Monday Night Raw was really good again last night. after seeing who is going to be in the Money in the Bank ladder match, i'm damn near tempted to order it. and congrats to Daniel Bryan on another incredible night of performing. i truly hope they give him another title run SOON.

and a little alert to anyone who wastes their time reading this blog, my 1 weird, guilty pleasure tv obsession starts back up soon, Big Brother. sadly, i've been hooked on this show for years. if i actually had any ambition, i would try out for it.

so most of today has been spent playing sad music while watching porn and trying to stay cool. we're under a severe thunderstorm watch at the moment. i doubt we get anything. the crops and mom's new flowers could use some rain though.

hope everyone is good.

before my internet crashes again...

first off, let me thank Frontier Communications for absolutely nothing. i just love when a tech tells you "well, we're going to try this but I don't think it will do anything." what a piece of shit company.

so i'm trying to type as fast as i can to get this fucker posted before the internet vanishes into thin air like this morning. nothing quite like waiting 30 minutes for 1 email to open. high speed internet for sure.

but, in my anger last night over the situation, i did crank out 3 poems. not quite sure why i'm writing in groups of 3 at the moment, but oh well. i typed them up earlier today and like them. i'm figuring an early July submission on those.

i did watch the guy walk across the Grand Canyon last night. i laughed when he prayed nearly 3/4 of the whole way across. i looked at my mother and said if he falls, atheists will have all the ammunition they will ever need. pretty ballsy doing the stunt in jeans.

tonight will be a mix of game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final and Monday Night Raw. both should be pretty damn good.

we might have got almost 2 minutes of drizzle today. not exactly what i was hoping for. we need a good decent rainfall, and quickly. these hot, dry days are surely using up all the water from the spring. other than that, the crops look about 100000000000000000000% better than last year at this time.

i take my truck in tomorrow and have a deposit to make at the bank. i guess the bank is going to have to wait.

a quick shout out to the muse. if you happen to read this you'll understand why i haven't returned your call yet. i do hope you are doing well.

where nostalgia meets apathy

this weekend has been misery for a ginger with sensitive skin. i'm not a real big fan of heat and humidity. i decided to do mother nature a solid yesterday and mow the grass after 5 pm. i was pretty pleased i was able to get it done before the sun went down. now, hopefully mother nature returns the favor and gives us a little rain in one of the next 5 days we have a chance.

after my shower last night i settled down to eat some pizza and watch some hockey. quite frankly, neither one of them excited me much. i was happy to see Boston lose though.

a quick hello to the muse, i do hope your allergies subside and life gets a little easier for you this evening. best of luck finding some new music.

the Yankees had a chance today to win the series against Tampa. and seeing that it was Old Timers' Day, i was feeling pretty good. of course, the offense the Yankees had found in the previous 2 wins didn't show up today. hell, i think the old timers had more offense actually. but, that's Yankee baseball in 2013, where nostalgia meets apathy. a day off tomorrow before a series with Texas.

i did watch a good bit of soccer this weekend. the Confederations Cup is down to a pretty good final four. Brazil vs. Uruguay and Italy vs. Spain. that will be some must see television coming up in a few days.

not exactly sure what i'll be watching tonight other than Veep. i suppose i might watch the guy trying to walk across the Grand Canyon, or i just might go write instead. not sure.

i do hope everyone has had a great weekend.

pain and frustration meet a victory beer and fake Mexican food

this post was really going to go up about 8 hours ago but the fuck heads at Frontier Communications apparently don't understand that high speed internet is actually supposed to be high speed all the time, not just when it feels like it. so, a special thank you to the asshole who is sending a tech out on Monday for a problem on Friday. how this company still exists is beyond me.

i watched the press conference introducing the New York Rangers new coach, AV. one thing i really do like is he has no previous connection to the franchise. hopefully it will be a fresh voice, some new ideas, a little fresh blood could really help this team. i want to see who he hires as his assistants to really see what kind of team he plans on having. i'm sure the offense will actually exist under AV (hopefully).

after yet another loss yesterday it was rather nice to see the Yankees win tonight. amazing what a little offense and some great pitching can do for a team. i'm really liking this new kid they brought up. hopefully they keep playing him.

it looks like it is going to be a miserable weekend in terms of weather. hot and humid with hardly any chance of relief. and somehow i need to get the grass cut during this shit. looks like i might be mowing at the crack of dawn one morning.

i sent out 9 poems today, 3 to The Camel Saloon and 6 to ZYX. when i hear back from these places i'll pass along the info here on the blog.

my left ankle is still barking today. my gut is telling me it is most likely arthritis. and my amateur medical opinions are usually spot on. just ask my mom and her meniscus injury a few years back. not sure when i'll go to the doctor about it. i imagine not anytime soon.

i have to take my truck in next week to get serviced. i figure i better get that done before it completely dies.

a quick note for the muse, i hope you enjoyed your movie and i hope the search for a new job is quick and fruitful for you.

a final critter update: the traps are gone. and hopefully all of the little fuckers are as well.

i guess i should wrap this up before the fucking internet disappears again on me.

have a great weekend and safe start to the summer, at least to all my readers here in the northern hemisphere. maybe if i get bored enough i'll try to get some pictures taken out here.

what happens when you can't find the pleasure in the pain

i don't know if it was because i slept wrong or not enough or did something i completely don't remember, but my back and my left ankle have been in tremendous pain today. this is always fun when you don't have anything in the house for the pain other than alcohol. and being trashed by 2 in the afternoon is something i would like to hold off on until i have lost all hope. and believe it or not, i'm not there yet.

the Yankees must have decided winning 1 game was enough last night as they completely mailed in the second game of the doubleheader. that did free up plenty of time for me to watch hockey. more on that later. the Yankees start a series with Tampa tonight which could go a long way in determining if they will still be in shouting distance of first place in the division or one spot from the basement of the division. as you can tell, this season is destroying my nerves.

the hockey game last night reminded me of hockey when i was growing up. 6-5 win in overtime for Chicago. this series has seven games written all over it.

and speaking of game 7, the last game of the NBA season is tonight. i might pay a little more attention to it than i normally do. but not much. and that's because...

Wilfred comes back on FX tonight. one of the few shows that makes me laugh out loud literally.

quick critter update: 1 more raccoon caught. i believe that is all of them. still no sign of the skunk or the groundhog. i figure they either have ran away or the nursing coyote in the back of the property wanted a snack or two.

the Manchester United rumors are heating up. anything i read i take with a grain of salt until i read it on the official website. i'm not exactly thrilled how the schedule for next season starts out. Moyes better have the team firing from the start. many tough fixtures in the beginning. get those out of the way in good shape and another title could be coming.

a quick shout out to the muse. i do hope stress isn't beating you down today.

i did figure out what poems will be going where tomorrow. i figured since i have had a pretty damn good week in the poetry world, i would send them out on a Friday. it's something i normally don't do, but since this has been a superstition busting week, i figured i might as well continue that trend.

i hope this finds everyone well. until tomorrow...

amazing what can be done on hardly no sleep at all

allow me to start off this post with a link to the latest podcast from Sam Roberts. episode #59, Cool Kids, can be found at iTunes, Stitcher, and at notsam.com. if you really are lazy, you can also find it by looking down the right hand side of this blog. once you have listened to the episode, go check out the band Sam is talking about on YouTube. they are fucking amazing.

luckily for me last night, the Yankees game was rained out. that of course meant they had to play a doubleheader today. they hung on to win the first game 6-4. thankfully, the Dodgers had 4 errors which really helped the cause. the next game is coming up in a little bit. i would love to see them win that as well.

with the rain out last night, i could better manage my television viewing. i ended up watching all of The Voice finale. third year in a row i have called it correctly. i believe both Danielle and Michelle could be pretty good artists down the line. as for the Swon Brothers, i have no clue. i guess a life of state fairs could be in the offering. also, is there any part of Cher that is real anymore. they should have spent the money on the hologram. during commercial breaks, i would sneak a quick glance at the soccer match and the basketball game.

after The Voice went off i caught the latest episode of Deadliest Catch. brilliant as always.

after that, i caught most of the 4th quarter and all of overtime in the NBA Finals. i can't wait to see a game 7 between 2 teams that can't win 2 games in a row. i get the feeling LeBron is going to go out guns blazing. hopefully his teammates do the same.

i finally got a chance to listen to the new Black Sabbath cd i got the other day. holy shit, it's great. really took me back to my youth listening to metal. i highly recommend it.

big win by team USA last night over Honduras, 1-0. they are virtually 3 more points away from sewing up a spot in the next World Cup. i really like the way this team is clicking now. highlights below:

i did a quick glance through some poems today and i think i have come up with 9 poems that should be going out on Friday. of course, i'll do a little fine tuning tomorrow to make sure i'm not sending rejected poems back to the same places. my anal nature regarding such things has prevented me from those kind of rookie mistakes for the last 20 years.

a thank you to the muse for the heads up on the deal she emailed me today. of course, it was already sold out, but i do greatly appreciate the thought. hope you have a wonderful night my beautiful friend.

that is all for today. 1 victory beer down, 1 to go...

riding a good wave

so the water softener has been replaced, thank god. i got most of the iron out of the toilets, which i imagine will make mom pretty happy. and thankfully, the water no longer stinks.

i watched a good bit of The Voice last night. my gut tells me Danielle will narrowly beat out Michelle but i really have no clue. i enjoyed most of the performances last night. i am really looking forward to the finale this evening. it would be even better if there wasn't a shitload of other things i want to watch as well.

Monday Night Raw was excellent last night. the Mark Henry "retirement" had me laughing and then howling when he turned it into a beat down of John Cena. the potential match up between CM Punk and Brock Lesnar should be really interesting. add in the usual McMahon craziness, Daniel Bryan being brilliant and a surprise appearance from Dolph Ziggler and you have almost 3 solid hours of entertainment.

i caught the last 3 minutes of the hockey game last night. not that interesting to be honest with you.

i might throw a stray eye to the Yankees vs. Dodgers tonight. it will be good to see Donnie Baseball back at the stadium. my favorite Yankee of all-time.

also on the docket for tonight is Deadliest Catch, as well as team USA vs. Honduras in World Cup Qualifying. another must win get the damn 3 points and get closer to qualifying for Brazil.

June 6 is going to go down as one of my best days sending out poems ever. 10 out of the 11 i sent have been accepted for or actually published. that's a good stroke for the ego.

also, a big thank you to the great folks at BoySlut for the nomination. that was the cherry on top for my day.

staying on the poetry tip, i typed up 3 more poems this afternoon that i wrote last night. this gives me a batch of 6 fresh ones to send out, probably next week most likely. i believe i might have a few winners. hopefully i do.

i'm hoping tonight i will be enjoying a few victory beers while maybe catching a little of game 6 of the NBA Finals. of course, if it's a blowout, i won't bother.

and finally, for the muse, i hope your muscles feel better soon. maybe a glass of wine will help you a little more this evening.

one of the days where humidity is spelled with a capital H

i went out to feed the cats and 10 minutes later i was drenched with sweat. i believe the humidity was higher than the temperature. something close to what i have always imagined hell to be like. it was so bad i went inside and shaved for the first time in weeks. and taking a shower with no water softener is someplace on the second level of hell i guess.

went on a little trip to Indiana to do some shopping with my mother. i actually found some music at Best Buy that i wanted. luckily, i had some gift cards from Christmas left. so, you'll be seeing some new names pop up at the end of these posts in the next few days.

after that, we came back to our rural cluster fuck of a town and ate at Waffle House. funny, all of the damn times i've been to these places all over this country and i have never ordered a waffle once. and i still haven't.

i'm really shocked that the Miami Heat are incapable of playing 2 solid games in a row. it should make game 6 interesting tomorrow night.

tonight is a split television night for me. first night of The Voice finale and a Monday Night Raw that should be interesting. i'm really interested to see what songs the final 3 choose. i figure which one connects best with the audience at home will win. not the best performer necessarily, but the best one at tugging on the strings of emotion. as for wrestling, CM Punk is back, so that means i will pay a bit more attention to the product again. should be a fun night.

i will give a glancing view or two to some hockey as well. this series has seven games written all over it. and hopefully all seven of them go to overtime.

congrats to the muse on getting her NIN tickets. glad to see some dreams come true for a change.

i wrote 3 poems last night. after typing them up today i feel pretty good about them. not sure if any of them are blow me away winners but, my opinion isn't the one that matters. i imagine i will be sending them out in a week or so. hopefully i have a few more that need to get out of my head soon.

i really hope the plumbers show up early and get the new water softener in without any problems tomorrow morning. and by early, i mean something around 8 am. so i can brush my teeth with something other than iron water.

better than i thought it would be

i decided to be the good son and humor my mother today on her 60th birthday. so, i went shopping with her at Target. anyone that knows me knows just how much i hate shopping. this was a pretty painless trip. just a few odds and ends and some things we needed for the animals.

after driving around looking at houses for sale in the area and a little lunch, we were back home in time for a little Confederations Cup soccer. that probably made the trip much better for me actually.

after watching that i decided to fuck with myself and watch the Yankees. i didn't watch their loss yesterday and i was less than happy when they had yet another injury. so when they got up 6-0 today, i figured the end of the world was coming. CC was pitching great and then the 9th inning came along. they tried their hardest to make this one of the worst road trips i could ever remember... but held on to win 6-5. the first victory beer since god knows when. they are off tomorrow.

throw in a little golf and some more soccer, a nap, a little dinner, some birthday cake, and there is most of my day. it hasn't rained as much as they said, which is great as the crops have enough water for now. plus, the trash seems to be in the same place (fingers crossed). i know i don't feel like picking up 10 bags of shredded paper that don't get picked up somehow.

tonight will be a little basketball, a little Nurse Jackie and Veep, more basketball and then some sleep. i didn't get much last night as the muse and i were on the phone to nearly 4 in the morning. always love when i find someone i can actually talk about anything and everything to. those people are rare these days. too many fuckers just waiting for their turn to talk. not sure what stories i will hear from her tonight. i believe she's spending most of today on a boat.

mom has decided that we are going to go shopping again tomorrow. somewhere i can hear god laughing.

a special thank you to RC Edrington for the kind words on my book, Sofisticated White Trash. i really appreciate it.

hope everyone had a great weekend. until tomorrow... i believe the shopping is going to be in Indiana, so i might have a few stories to share.

at least the weather is nice

we had a bit of a plumbing nightmare yesterday as our water softener has more or less died. we'll be having a new one put in on Tuesday. needless to say, i won't be going to the tap for anything for the next few days. i'm basically waiting to see if the water we have now will glow in the dark or catch fire. fun.

i watched a few innings of the latest Yankee debacle last night. 4th loss in a row. i can't wait for this team to find bottom. hopefully it is soon. at least tonight's game is blacked out for me, so i won't be bothered with it.

i watched a little of the start of the Confederations Cup today. a nice tune-up for the World Cup next year. Brazil looked pretty good today.

my sister came down this morning. i got a look at her new car. looks really nice but there is basically no way i'll be in it. it sits way too low for my back. oh well. we did mom's birthday today. i think she was pretty pleased with her gifts. i have no clue if we're doing anything tomorrow. i believe my sister has to go back home tonight. maybe a Waffle House breakfast or something. or maybe not.

not sure what is going to win out for me this evening. the Batman movie on HBO or game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final. given how i feel about sports these days, i'm leaning to Batman.

plenty of reports that the New York Rangers have hired a new coach. it's the guy i was hoping for, Vancouver's former coach. i wanted him simply so i wouldn't have to see one of my heroes get fired. besides, i don't think Messier is ready for it just yet.

that's pretty much all for today.

a quick tip to the muse, turn your phone off. that tends to help stop the calls you don't want. and get some more sleep, you need it.

peace and chicken grease.

the fun in dysfunctional

yesterday was pretty much a day i would like to forget. although, the demons inside of me don't allow for such things. i can remember shit from when i was 2 years old. what makes me think i'll be able to forget a stupid argument with my mother and an 18 inning baseball game that was something resembling a slow death.

first with the baseball...

the Yankees lost 3-2 in 18 innings yesterday in one of the most frustrating games i have had the pleasure/horror of watching since i became a Yankee fan in 1982. i would rather eat paint chips than describe how the fuck a team could leave a small village on base in just extra innings alone. they start a series tonight in that house of horrors in Anaheim. not sure if i will watch the game or not. i have so many bad memories of games from that place that i might end up watching 'whatever' instead.

as for the argument...

when it happened i was a little dumbfounded how a shit day at work could become taking some shots below the belt. but, while bagging my 6th bag of shredded paper (that number is now at 10 by the way) it dawned on me. yesterday was the birthday of my stepfather. throw the gasoline of grieving for a true love on top of a bad day at work, and i understand why i was caught in the gunfire. that's the beauty of dysfunction i suppose, there's always some psychological seed that shit comes from.

so, in case my mother reads this, contrary to what you may believe when you are angry and simply pissed off because you are turning 60 this weekend while the love of your life rests in an urn, i do love you. always have and always will. and i know i'm not exactly the best at showing it. but, i am trying to get better.

a hello to the muse. see, i told you i would find a way to get you into this blog. i hope you feel better soon and have a great weekend.

my sister will be coming down this weekend. i'm interested to see her new car. and hopefully talk her into buying some poetry.

other than that, hopefully this weather continues for the weekend. mid 70's with decent humidity, can't get much better than this. so, of course it's supposed to rain.

no critter update as the last raccoon and the groundhog have grown wise to the traps. little fuckers.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

at least the storm waited until the game was over

i watched nearly every second of game 1 last night between Chicago and Boston. that was one of the best Stanley Cup Final games that i can remember. especially watching Chicago come back from a 3-1 deficit to win 4-3 in the 3rd overtime. the goal went in right around the stroke of 1 am here. the rain knocked out the satellite feed roughly 10 minutes later. good timing.

the Yankees last night had their usual pathetic offense show up again and lost 5-2. they play a day game today, so i think i know what i will be napping to. i truly hope they get all this bad baseball out of their systems in the first half of the season. they are in a team wide slump and it's beyond frustrating by now for me. i can't imagine how frustrated they are. i'm not sure if millionaires get frustrated.

i'm enjoying the silly season and all the rumors involving Manchester United. given the fact that there is a new coach for the first time since 1986, nearly every good player in the world is being linked to the team. it's funny. i have no doubt David Moyes is going to put a great team together and be right at the top again next season.

we did get a good dose of rain last night and this morning. not much flooding though, so it does appear the drainage issues have been solved for now.

quick critter update: i watched a raccoon last night reach into the trap, pull out a marshmallow, eat it, get another, eat it, and then leave without ever going into the trap. damn fucker. hopefully he's forgetful this evening.

a quick shout out to the muse, hope you feel better soon my beautiful friend.

i imagine i will watch a good deal of the NBA Finals game 4 tonight, as long as it is somewhat competitive. i can surely find something else on during a blowout.

that's all for today. peace and chicken grease.

a goodbye and a hello once again to more rain

we start off this blog with a plug for my friend, Sam Roberts. check out his latest podcast and everything he has going on at notsam.com.

a quick critter update: 1 trap by the summer kitchen: 1 nursing female raccoon; 1 trap by the windmill bird feeder: 1 baby raccoon. we have 2 more traps set up now, hopefully we get the groundhog and/or the other raccoon i've seen out here. i believe the skunk caught wind of all this going on and has left. much to that little fucker's surprise, his former home will be sealed up before it gets back.

not sure if we will catch anything tonight given the storms that are supposed to come overnight. it certainly has been warm enough today to provide the fuel for some shit tonight. i don't really like night storms, but, i hardly sleep anymore anyway.

The Voice played out how i kind of figured last night. Sasha overplayed her hand and the Swon Brothers swooped right in. so the final is basically Usher vs. Blake. none of the final 3 have had that holy shit moment yet. they might want to get that on Monday if they want to win.

Deadliest Catch was great as usual. as much as i think i could do that job and would really enjoy (and NEED) the money, there's no fucking way. i worked outside for nearly 7 years. i've had my fill of that life.

the Yankees had the bases loaded in the first inning last night. they didn't score. i didn't bother to turn back until the soccer game was over. and though the Yankees made it somewhat interesting, judging from everything i read this morning, the only thing close about the game was the score, 6-4. thankfully i have hockey to watch instead of another shitty pitching performance tonight.

team USA played a dominating game against Panama, winning 2-0. a much needed 3 points to take them to the top of the group. things are definitely looking up for qualifying for the World Cup. highlights below:
that was a victory beer i enjoyed.

i might have watched a minute or two of the NBA last night. every time i saw the score, it was never close. and one team beating the shit out of another is really no fun for me unless i have money on the game. and those days have passed me by years ago now.

i am looking forward to a little original 6 Stanley Cup Final action tonight between Boston and Chicago. i will be rooting for Chicago as i couldn't root for Boston in anything.

the rest of the evening will be spent watching the weather. i really wouldn't mind them being wrong again. i don't think the crops really need a few inches of rain in the next couple of days. a little rain with no wind damage would be fine thank you.

an unexpected high energy Tuesday

today is the first day where it truly feels like it is summer outside. full of sun, a bit of humidity, sweat, bug spray, short fuses and cats sleeping on the concrete.

today is also the birthday of the biggest crush i ever had in my life. i use the past tense as a way of telling myself she's never going to leave her husband. but if she ever did... i would have killed people if she asked when i was 17, you can only imagine what i would do now.

the house is open and nearing 80 degrees inside. mom complained about being cold last night with the air conditioning on. i hope she enjoys the other extreme. this feels like my sister's condo now. and she won't run the a/c because she's a tight wad when it comes to money.

i enjoyed Monday Night Raw last night. i got a good laugh when they said it was the first time Daniel Bryan and Seth Rollins wrestled against each other. i do believe i recall a match 5 years ago in ROH between Bryan Danielson and Tyler Black. it was great then as it is now. i figure when CM Punk is back and the Wyatt Family is running around, it might actually become 3 hours of great television again.

i did watch most of The Voice last night. i'm not sure if my 3 picks are going to make it or not. i really didn't care for Sasha's performances last night. i still believe it will be Danielle, Michelle, and Sasha. if she doesn't make it, i can't believe i'm typing this, but i think The Swon Brothers could crack the final 3. tonight should be heartbreaking for 2 people at least.

so, from The Voice tonight i will jump to Deadliest Catch. from there it will become crazy time. all going on at the same time mind you. the Yankees are out in Oakland starting a series. team USA plays Panama in World Cup Qualifying. and game 3 of the NBA Finals are on as well. needless to say i will be wearing out the remote once again. and hopefully enjoying two victory beers at the end of it.

i have been a busy boy networking over at LinkedIn. hopefully it actually leads to some productive ideas. or at the very least, increased book sales.

and speaking of the devil...

no news on the critter front. both traps were closed this morning with nothing in them. i'm figuring the curious ass cats triggered them or the dumb ass birds did. i did laugh when the groundhog was sniffing around the closed trap at dusk last night. life truly is a comedy of fucking errors.

that's all for today. i'm off to figure how the fuck i'm going to get to wherever to see NIN play on this tour coming up. these are the moments where i figure it might have actually been good to have more than a handful of friends over 37 years of existence.

a sunny, now rainy, now sunny again Monday

i was on the phone last night with the muse until almost 3:30 in the morning. i laugh at the problems the beautiful people get themselves into some time. amazingly, i've never had that problem.

the Yankees got just enough offense yesterday to win 2-1. these close games are driving me insane, or if my family has any say in it, more insane, and can't possibly be good for my health in general. but i damn sure enjoy the wins. they are off tonight before starting a series in Oakland.

i did watch a good portion of game 2 of the NBA Finals last night. that block LeBron had was one of the best i can ever remember on a dunk attempt.

the Sunday night shows were great as usual. i really liked Nurse Jackie last night.

tonight will be a mix of The Voice and Monday Night Raw. and if i remember, i will try to use the WWE app while i'm watching Raw. that is of course if my high speed internet is actually high speed this evening.

Critter Control was out here today. there are now some traps up for the various creatures out here that have been fucking with the cat food and bird feeders. should be interesting to see what they catch by morning. i did find out this weekend that there is a new coyote and 4 pups in the den in the back of the property. should be interesting to see how many cats go missing here in the next few days.

sweating before noon

i woke up this morning before 7 am. my first thought was why. i can't believe that i'm still not able to sleep in. drinking doesn't work, exhaustion doesn't work, no alarm doesn't work, fuck me.

i decided this would be a morning of music and no television. that also allowed me to get the toilets cleaned, the trash picked up, animals fed, and the paper picked up (after a 1/2 mile walk down and back to get it) all before 11 am. and i wasn't exactly productive because i wanted to be. it was more about being pissed i was awake.

the Yankees got just enough offense yesterday to win 3-1. it was the 250th victory for Andy Pettitte in his career. a nice round number. they will have their work cut out for them today going against King Felix. not sure how much i want to watch a constant path of walking back to the dugout today.

last night's ROH was excellent, at least what i saw of it. i woke up just in time for the main event. and anytime you can watch the American Wolves and the Briscoes wrestle it's going to be worth any time spent on it. and it was.

while watching Chicago eliminate the Kings last night in double overtime i was really happy that i have Patrick Kane on my fantasy team. he seems to be getting hot at the right time.

i was flipping between that and the concert last night for Big Head Todd and the Monsters last night on AXS TV. i can't believe their first album is now 20 years old. shit i feel old. it was a great concert. first time i really watched Trombone Shorty (the opening act) play. i'll definitely have to check out more of his music.

as for today, i see a long nap during NASCAR or the Yankees game or both. then the usual Sunday night shows and a good portion of game 2 of the NBA Finals.

and sometime before the rain comes tonight i need to get some dead limbs cut down and read the damn paper i guess.

may your weekend end in style or at least without any blood on your hands.

maybe it was the alcohol...

my back felt much better this morning. i'm wondering if it was the victory beer from last night that made the difference. perhaps. it certainly wasn't a good night of sleep, i can tell you that much.

lets start with some good news. team USA had a stunning 2-1 victory last night in Jamaica. the first time they have EVER won there in World Cup Qualifying. and how they won was truly delicious. Brad Evans picked one hell of a time to have his first goal for his country. i would love to post the highlights here but currently YouTube and Blogger seem to be speaking different languages. check out the highlights on YouTube using this link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFVtb4G_pic

i then went from that high to watching the Yankees offense disappear once again and lose 4-1. i would hate to be a pitcher for the team on these kind of nights. when you have to be damn near perfect to even have a chance to win. it's bad enough that the pitcher who won for Seattle won for the first time in 3 fucking years. so much for the winning streak. and of course i'll be watching in a few hours. a glutton for punishment...

i'll be watching if Chicago beats the Kings tonight to set up an original six Stanley Cup Finals. Boston did their part last night sweeping Pittsburgh out of the playoffs. i had a good laugh with the look on the faces of Crosby and Malkin and the rest of those assholes.

i'll probably watch a little horse racing as well later today. no triple crown to win but it should be interesting to see what happens. the favorite should win as it is the horse's home track.

throw in a little ROH this evening and whatever live music i can find on the numerous music channels i have on DIRECTV and i once again have a full plate in front of me.

i did watch most of the women's final at the French Open this morning. mostly because tennis was a sport i loved as a kid and actually excelled at. that usually shocks the shit out of people. and secondly because i have always found Serena Williams to be incredibly sexy. and there is the second shocker to most people; my love of black women. spend most of your schooling in a black school system and you will understand it. too many fond memories to simply turn my back on or ignore.

a pretty cloudy day here so far. it's not supposed to rain, but i don't trust the fuckers who do the weather here for anything.

and lastly, my mother's birthday gifts came in well before amazon.com said they would. that company continues to outperform my expectations time after time.

i hope everyone is in the middle of a great weekend. or at least with a cold drink in your hand and not one single care in your mind.

starting off the weekend with a bad back

i just love waking up in the morning and my back doesn't. almost 12 hours later and it's still no good. just lovely.

a big game tonight for team USA in World Cup Qualifying. i would love to see them get all 3 points tonight. it won't be easy, but the results against Germany have me feeling like it's possible. that starts around 9 or so.

the Yankees won an easy one last night 6-1. they got all 6 runs in one inning. would have loved to seen that be spread out, but oh well. hopefully they can keep the good streak going tonight.

i didn't bother much with the hockey game last night. i spent most of the time watching game 1 of the NBA Finals. i laugh at the number of people who have forgotten that Miami lost game 1 last year as well and still won the title. if they lose game 2, then i'll be mildly interested to see what happens.

the weather here today is pretty damn close to perfect. mom went to the doctor this morning. i'm a little spooked they put her on some nausea pills they normally give cancer patients. i really hope she feels better soon.

i will give a glance or two to the hockey game this evening. if Boston can sweep Pittsburgh out of the playoffs  i will be shocked and laughing my ass off at the same time.

that's pretty much all for today.

a few words to the muse, keep your head up kid. it WILL get better.

trying to turn a gloomy day into a productive one

had a little thunder this morning and some fog. add to that a persistent drizzle that sometimes became a pouring rain. just a gloomy day to say the least. toss on top of that that my mother is feeling sicker than shit... you can just imagine the mood in this house at the moment.

a quick raccoon update: no new hat. the little fucker made it down from the tree while i was watching the hockey game last night. it was up in the tree for nearly 5 hours. during the intermission between the 3rd period and the first overtime, i caught the little fucker and its other raccoon buddy enjoying a bird feeder meant to keep out squirrels. i chased them both off. hopefully the rain does that job today.

i did send out some poems today. i had a quick change of thought this morning and decided to send out to a few different places than i originally thought. i guess in the coming days we'll see if my gut has shit for brains or not.

i sent out 3 poems each to Dead Snakes and Pyrokinection. 5 poems went to BoySlut. when i hear back from these places i'll pass along the verdicts here.

i found myself flipping between the hockey game and the Discovery Channel most of the night. i laugh at how interested i am in science now at 37, given that i hated it growing up. i imagine that's probably due to all the shitty teachers i had on the subject. i can think of 2 that i actually enjoyed. that's pretty sad given all the years of science class i had. oh the joys of public education. amazingly, i still graduated with honors. i suppose it helped that i refused to simply learn what they wanted me to know.

the hockey game was great. overtime hockey in the playoffs is the best. i could have watched 4 or 5 of them last night. had to settle for 2. i'm shocked at how Boston has absolutely beaten the dog shit out of Pittsburgh.

i figure tonight i will bounce between some hockey and the start of the NBA Finals. and then the Yankees come on at 10. so, i figure i'll be hitting the bed around 3 or so in the morning, unless there are some blowouts. then i might actually get to bed at a "regular" time.

one thing i did notice messing around with that raccoon yesterday was i have some dead limbs to cut down on the tree it went up. i'm amazed it's still standing after getting hit with lightning a few years ago. i guess when it gets dry again i'll break out the saw.

that's pretty much all. here's hoping i don't get whatever my mother has. getting sick in the summer months totally fucking sucks.

peace and chicken grease.

and then the madman comes out to play

i was feeling pretty damn good. just watched the Yankees win again to sweep away Cleveland. i was just getting ready to open a victory beer when i noticed one of the bird feeders was down. after a big swig i looked a little closer and saw the raccoon that must have knocked it down. so much for the spray fucking working i thought. so, i bolted out of the house and chased the fucker up about 40 feet. i went back inside to enjoy some more of the victory beer. then i noticed the raccoon was getting ready to go back to the bird feeder. it was at this time i really wished my father would have taught me how to use a gun. instead, like a fucking madman, i went out with a hoe and a large rock. this is one of the reasons why i have told my mother i prefer not having neighbors. i just missed the fucker once, but i did scare it up another 10 feet or so.

sadly, i don't think that raccoon understands i'm a very patient person and have nothing but time and gravity on my side. and someone is going to pay for the suet feeder that is now missing. i'll let everyone know if i have a new hat by tomorrow.

very nice wins by the Yankees yesterday and today. just enough offense and good enough pitching. a big complete game today by CC was very much needed. the bullpen could use the rest. a big 4 game series in Seattle starts tomorrow. looks like i will be on west coast time at night for a little while.

Deadliest Catch got me once again last night. having survived blood clots in my left leg and all the hellish pain that went with it, anytime i hear about someone else that has it and is near death... to say i'm lucky is a bit of an understatement. easily, one of the best shows on television.

and i watch Backyard Oil after it just to remind my mother that is where her kin are from. good laughs.

i was pleased when the first 3 people saved on The Voice were the 3 i said had the best chance to win it all. makes me feel like i actually know what i'm talking about. i was a little sad to see Holly from Team Blake go, but it was bound to happen sometime.

watched a little of the hockey game last night. i was pleased that the Kings won as it means more hockey before the finals.

i've got some dishes to do and a raccoon to out wait, so i believe that is all for today.

on some days you just open the windows and let the wind flow

the weather today has been about as close to perfect as it can be for a June in Ohio. low 70's, hardly any humidity, no pollen flying through the air, a gentle breeze most of the day; the kind of day i'd love to bottle and have all the time. and of course, i spent a good part of it indoors doing my laundry. welcome to my life.

got my package from amazon.com today. so there will be plenty of new music listened to in the next few days.

the Yankees offense finally came to life last night. the bullpen picked up for the starters finally and the Yankees won, 7-4. hopefully a good streak will start before too long.

i did watch a good bit of The Voice last night. my 3 potential winners are Danielle, Sasha, and Michelle, in that order. i'll be interested to see who goes this evening. all the performances were pretty damn close to each other, so it could be anyone.

and thankfully The Voice is only 1 hour this evening, so i will get to Deadliest Catch without missing anything.

i enjoyed Monday Night Raw last night for the most part. well, let me clarify. i enjoyed Daniel Bryan last night. to work 2 big matches and be the star of both of them was absolutely great. he's quickly moving up the ranks of my favorites of all time. i still think 3 hours is too long for a live show, but i do like that they are willing to have longer matches now on television. something that actually lasts longer than one commercial break. and so far (fingers crossed) the majority of these matches have been with guys who can bring it in an entertaining style.

i might have watched 30 seconds of the Bruins destroying Pittsburgh last night. if Boston wins it all, i guess i can take comfort in knowing the New York Rangers lost to the Stanley Cup Champions.

and finally, i did watch most of the second half of the Heat taking the Pacers out behind the woodshed and reminding them who wears the pants in the family. i think the Heat will repeat as champions as i don't think the Spurs can keep up with them when they are clicking on all cylinders.

i'm shooting for later this week to send out some poems and perhaps break out the watercolors once again and let my insanity do some painting.

that's all for now. peace and chicken grease.

on a cloudy Monday in June

i wasn't exactly upset last night that they cut the Yankees game short because of rain. the way the game was going, they had absolutely no chance of coming back. the team has completely hit a horrific stretch. and i'm not exactly sure when it will turn around for them. they play Cleveland tonight. thank god i have other viewing options.

i am looking forward to Monday Night Raw tonight. just the promise of some new talent being introduced has my mouth watering. plus, CM Punk will be back soon. that's always something to look forward to. while on the pro wrestling tip, a quick thought about Ring Of Honor over the weekend. every time i watch ACH wrestle, the more i enjoy it. i really hope this kid keeps progressing into a star one day.

i was a little stunned with team USA's victory over Germany yesterday. while i know it wasn't all the German stars playing, a team that struggles to score goals scored 4 on a team whose reserves are better than 90% of our players. i really hope this bodes well for the World Cup qualifiers coming up. highlights from the match are below:

i saw a bluebird eating some sunflower seeds yesterday on the farm for the first time since i have lived here. it immediately made me think of the Bukowski poem...

i did watch the end of the NASCAR race yesterday. Juan Pablo Montoya is my favorite driver of all-time. to see him get passed on the last few laps by another of my favorite drivers, Tony Stewart, was bittersweet to say the least. i'd love for JPM to win on an oval just once so some of the idiots could actually understand how great of a driver he really is. one of these days, it's going to happen.

a big game 7 tonight between the Heat and Pacers. i don't plan on watching much of it unless it's really close near the end or LeBron is having one of those 'holy shit' games.

The Voice is back on tonight. it's down to crunch time now. i'm planning on paying a little closer attention tonight to see who i think will win it all now that my first choice was eliminated last week.

i did go through some poems this morning and have come up with 9 i'll be sending out later this week. hopefully, i make some better choices than i have been making in the past few weeks. although, getting the 3 accepted at Zygote in My Coffee really freshened my outlook, at least for a little while.

that's pretty much all for today. i've got some lunch to get and a long shower to take to hopefully loosen up this back some. i can't imagine why i'm single... always bitching about something in my life. if it's not the back, it's the scar tissue all down the left side of my lower body. of course, knowing it's going to rain 18 hours before it does helps a little. but, since the thought of actually selling off the farm is being tossed around with a little more probability than i was initially expecting, i'm not sure how much good my rain detection is going to do me in the future if i'm living in a condo.

more on that in the coming weeks i imagine.

dodging bullets

i'm a little shocked we didn't get hit with some storms yesterday. we got a lot of wind and a little rain, but nothing close to what was expected. we did have a little cosmetic damage to the gutter on the hog barn. but, no trees down, no crops damaged... i'm tickled pink. of course, i could have done without the cold front coming through at 2 AM and locking my back up completely. that was fun.

a little heads up for everyone, i just heard from Paula Cary at poethound.blogspot.com that my book, Sofisticated White Trash, will be featured on the site on June 4th.

and while on the subject of the book, a special thank you to Doug Draime for the kind words. you have no idea how much that means to me coming from you.

thankfully, the Yankees weren't available for me to watch on television. and as soon as Phil Hughes gave up the grand slam, i quit following it online as well. a pathetic 11-1 loss. they play again tonight on ESPN. thank god i will have other things to watch.

i did catch a great deal of the NHL final four yesterday. these 2 series are going to be great as there is already plenty of hatred after game 1.

and i guess the NBA got what it wanted as well. amazing that Miami has turned into LeBron's old Cleveland teams in just a matter of days. game 7 should be interesting for a little while at least. of course, if the NBA wants absolutely no one to watch the finals, let Indiana win.

made it back from my sister's place yesterday in one piece. how the two of us come from the same DNA is amazing to me. complete opposite ends of the spectrum. love her just the same though, but man, she has more rich shit than i can even think of.

as for today, i believe i will take a nap to some NASCAR, hopefully watch team USA play better against Germany than they should, and  of course, my usual Sunday night programming to finish off the day. and if the Yankees actually win, a victory beer to cap it all off.

hope everyone is having a great weekend. until tomorrow...

better than i expected

i woke up at 6 this morning, expecting the worse. when i went to sleep, they figured the storms would be getting here right around 6. i guess my body clock has an alarm set for disaster. amazingly, the storms, just like everything else that enters this state, pretty much died out when it got to the state line. just a steady rain so far this morning. good for the crops. much better than the inch of rain we got in a little over 10 minutes yesterday. my only fear is once this rain passes, we are expected to have a lull. during that lull it is supposed to get very hot and muggy. that's not good. as long as what fires up this afternoon is nothing like the end of world shit they got yesterday in Oklahoma... when the guy from the Weather Channel said he saw his life pass in front of his eyes, as much as it was fascinating television, it was spooky as all fuck. the knot in my stomach has died down a bit. i've still got all my shit together, just in case...

a big thank you to the muse for some good words last night. it is an absolute pleasure to have you back in my life.

the Yankees got some great pitching last night from CC (first win in over a month, 10 K's no BB) and just enough offense to win 4-1. a much needed victory to put the world back on its axis. not sure how much of tonight's game i'll watch (i'm assuming it's going to be a black-out here) but i would love to see them start winning again. just a game out of first.

i believe later this morning i'll be going with my mother up to Columbus to drop some stuff off to my sister. hopefully we can get there and back during the lull.

and if the storms don't knock out the power or the DIRECTV, i'll be bouncing between playoff hockey and playoff basketball this evening. i'm hoping for some entertaining games to take my mind off of everything for at least a few hours.

i did watch Chicharito score 2 goals last night for Mexico. that was about the only thing that took my attention away from the Yankees and the Weather Channel.

that's all for this morning. i really hope to not have to write anything until tomorrow.
